Hitting almost 2 million jabs a week now nationwide. Not bad but as all my teachers used to say....could do better https://covidvax.live/location/aus
-
Interesting...must have been played after the AFL Sunday afternoon match (unless they got an exemption)
-
After ground rental costs the net revenue for a crowd of 20k would be zero. Most of the costs are for security and ushers etc so a closed ground would be much cheaper plus of course the ground gets a fair share of the boundary advertising rights.
-
10k max if not lower. The ground will have a 50% cap which limits the crowd to 16k only. Add to that the ticket price of say $40 per head and being limited to regional supporters. And of course who gets the game receipts, beverage rights, super box payments and sponsorhip rights etc. (Remember that Geelong controls all those things for Kardinia Park)
-
The idea of rent a crowd which is all that you will get interstate for the first finals round is laughable. Saints v Bulldogs drew 10,651 last year in the first week. In the second week Richmond v Saints drew 13k The GF and the prelims where States will actually pay money for a team to play there is another case altogether
-
A neutral final interstate in the first week would be lucky to pull 10k. The AFL are playing a political game and Geelong will be the beneficiary.
-
1 v 2 and still we can't get an exclusive Nationally televised FTA game. (Sydney will take the GWS game live FTA) Our sponsors must be pulling their proverbial hair out
-
Looking like Geelong could have an armchair ride to the GF if we lose this weekend. Likely finals... Geelong v Melb (at Kardinia) week off .....assuming Geelong win Prelim: Geelong v ?? (at Kardinia) Week off the pre final bye GF in Perth The only one that is in any doubt would be the prelim venue but it's at least a 50/50 chance. Of course if we win this weekend ........ who knows
-
If we win and Dogs lose by not much and thus stay fourth where do people think the game might be? I recall a commentator suggesting Tasmania but surely not. Alice Springs temperatures looking nice for a night game
-
WA government still pays the guaranteed fee unless AFL have bad lawyers
-
Agree WCW I was surprised as well. Until around mid July, Poland was tracking well numbers wise and then the dialy numbers fell off a cliff. Just goes to show how hard it is getting that last 30% of the population to have the jab
-
Interesting that Poland's vaccination rate is one of the slowest in the EU https://covidvax.live/location/eu

Could be a few games at the Cattery in the first week of finals

India are ramping up a little.. around 6 million doses per day. Watching the ticker can be therapeutic in these difficult times https://covidvax.live/location/ind

Luke ‘dogga’ Jackson rising star favourite
Diamond_Jim replied to Dave1711's topic in Melbourne Demons
Would be good to sign him over the off season for 2 years. After that who knows. Eagles will throw the proverbial sink to get him. -
Yep.... GF in Perth. The real question is the two prelims and perhaps the previous finals. I'm seeing a pre grand final bye that allows quarantining and testing for the visiting teams in Perth.
-
A very solid win. Challenged and we dealt with it. Wayward Crows in the first quarter and Fritsch's 3 in 90 seconds to finish the match may have flattered us but hell I'll take it. And one of the few games where we kicked more goals than behinds... YAY !!!
-
Not sure you can play Sparrow and Viney in the same team. Both get the ball and do little with it but they play an important part. Just that you need a running player to leverage the skill. Seems that Viney is better than Sparrow now so Sparrow needs to kick a few goals each match to grab a spot.
-
Hibberd was not fanatastic today but I didn't see anything wrong with his game. If TMac is to come in could it be Melksham out or is it Jordon. May for Smith and Viney for Sparrow are almost certainties.
-
never look at other votes before posting and do so after watching the replay. I'm surprised so few rated Oliver. Sure he missed two goals but it was his drive that got us going in the last half. Fritsch would have of course got the 6 votes if he had kicked his last 3 in the third quarter but sorry other than being amazed at the accuracy they didn't grab me. OTOH I can understand the Fritta love.

6. Oliver 5. Langdon 4. Fritsch 3.Petracca 2. Petty 1. Rivers Big apologies to Jackson and a few other players including ANB
-
what is this we kick one... they kick one
-
here we go again The Melbourne way
-
Time to put the pedal down a la Brisbane yesterday. The last quarter for the last two matches haven't been stellar
-
not exactly stamping our authority on this game. mmmmmm
