Last year there were several games where we were say 20 points ahead well into the last quarter. It surprised me that we did not use those opportunities to practice a few offensive and defensive two minute drills. Perhaps the game is so unpredictable that there is little use. On the thread title I'm not sure there is much quality depth at VFL level but the failures of that competition are so many that it can be hard to judge

Was surprised by Weid's absence this week simply because they know what they get from TMac and it hasn't been great for nearly a year. Found the naming of Laurie on the extended bench interesting.

Early night with a good book AFL really putting some snooze fests on Friday nights

A Big Friday night game. Who would have thought it would be the "last chance saloon" for these two teams so early in the season. Watching the replay Tom Mac's game was a 5-6 whereas Weid's was 3-4. On the body of 2022 form they're lineball. Neither has really shone. Weid was performing against a youngster in the ruck last week

Great outcome and a strong address by Pert. I still wonder how a backline strategy that had so many holes (he's out the back) became one of the best in this century but whatever... well done Simon. I have had the pleasure of observing Goody in the crowd at many VFL games. His interaction with those around him underscores his humility. I do hope that he gains further extensions simply because he deserves to be well rewarded financially for delivering what many of us thought we'd never see. Thanks Goody

As you say, they're not leaving. The site is worth nothing if they walk away. Why would the council be concerned if they left. It's all limited use parkland and would be a lovely addition to the precinct. Always thought the request to knock down the historic stand was a no goer
