CASEY: Rd 11 vs Sydney
Good win with few standouts. Hibberd much improved on last week and showing he's not finished yet. Baker probably BOG

CASEY: Rd 11 vs Sydney
Very good quarter from Baker

CASEY: Rd 11 vs Sydney
about 15 -20 minutes top. In the 80's the seconds would clap the firsts onto the field and then head up the race. Generally the last quarter was watched by very close to the match day crowd

CASEY: Rd 11 vs Sydney
so this game is going to finish over an hour before the main game. So much for curtain raisers

Hadn't thought of that but makes sense

NON-MFC: Round 12, 2022
Eagles cannot be as bad as they are performing. Almost makes one wish we had relegation to keep some honesty in the competition

GAMEDAY: Rd 12 vs Sydney
Assuming T Mac is out I would be rethinking the medi sub. Ideally a flexible back/forward. Any ideas? Not sure Majak fits the bill but perhaps

Low Attendance
It allows them to close large sections of the ground thus reducing staff numbers, cleaning costs etc. Unfortunately I see it continuing Perhaps they will have small general admission areas but they will be limited and of course you will need to pre-purchase on line

Excellent article.... https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/beating-the-dees-what-can-other-teams-take-out-of-dockers-playbook-20220602-p5aqka.html You play keepings off, it plays into their hands,” Burke said. “We saw St Kilda do it in the first half, which, speaking with Brett Ratten afterwards, wasn’t their game plan. “If you can be really good at the contest and take the ball forward they can be exploited,” Burke said. “When you’re unsure that’s when the Melbourne way can damage you. You have to be brave, bold and take them on.”

Tasmanian AFL Team
Geelong is funded by the Vic Govt in the form of a free stadium. It has a local population base bigger than Hobart and has an existing supporter base near equal to the whole of Tasmania's population. The better comparisons are Saints, North and even ourselves. Hopefully the clubs demand to see a full business case that encompasses various alternatives including folding one of GWS or GCS and replacing it with a team from Tasmania. Placing KPI's on the continuation of the licence is a ploy. What Commission would throw them out after ten years when the odds are that four or five of the core clubs aren't meeting the same KPI's

TEAMS: Rd 12 vs Sydney
Must agree OD it surprised me. These days however with closed training sessions we see little of what is happening. There is also the problem that the VFL standard is so low it does little to hone the skills. Trust the Force Luke !!

CHANGES: Rd 12 vs Sydney
This is a relatively easy selection week. Next week with Salem to return is the harder one. Salem will play in the VFL this weekend. Hibberd didn't play a full game against Frankston so he has another VFL round this week. Outs: May, Melksham Weideman Bedford Ins Tomlinson, Harmes McDonald Langdon Medi sub... probably Bedford Caveat: I'm not sure Petty is 100%

The New TV and Media Broadcast Deal
Seems like the FTA people have woken up to the missing elephant in the anti-siphoning rules namely that streaming is excluded. Seven West Media boss James Warburton has urged the Albanese government to swiftly close a loophole in federal ‘anti-siphoning’ laws to prevent subscription-based streaming services from capturing rights to popular sporting competitions such as the AFL. The comments, made just hours after new Communications Minister Michelle Rowland was sworn into the ministry, come as longtime AFL broadcaster Seven jostles with US streaming giants Amazon and Paramount in the league’s next rights deal https://www.theage.com.au/business/companies/seven-boss-wants-streaming-loophole-closed-as-us-giants-vie-for-afl-rights-20220601-p5aq6w.html
