  1. Like the DRS in cricket the review in AFL was originally introduced to protect from the "howling errors" occasionally made by umpires. Now we've taken it to the n'th degree with lousy technology Using a review to determine if it has hit the padding on the behind post when a boundary umpire is standing next to the behind post as occurred on one game over the weekend has to be the most ridiculous thing ever.
  2. agree with the touch post= goal etc .. if it goes through Too much time wasted on review... If snicko uses an immediate light alarm I would re-consider Touched by players should be umpires call and favour the scoring team if in doubt
  3. Agree. If not for some free kicks his day at Casey would have been sub par. Once again though delivery was terrible Not sure that Joel Smith is the answer. He's an opportunistic high flyer not a strong bodied bring to ground type forward
  4. Woey okay but could have done better Not our worst I recall Stretch and JKH. Often excelled at VFL level but couldn't crack the big time. Woey is not at the VFL level that JKH and Stretch reached but it's only his second year
  5. we're the Pies in reverse it would seem This has been a terrible display
  6. following the dees can be stressful
  7. our boundary line game means we are easier to squeeze. Needs some centre corridor play to break up the pattern. At least with Hunter we should not be falling into the trap of always playing the Langdon wing
  8. a minor train wreck Could have won if we kicked straight but the forward set up was dysfunctional. As usual too much forward pocket delivery. Attacking players not willing to cut back to the centre hot spot 35 out. Forwards rarely on the lead Laurie and Spargo had decent games
  9. starting to lose count of the inside 50 marks by the Suns Joel Smith might be better down back
  10. a forward 50 mark would be useful
  11. suns starting to dominate...... need to take some risks up the middle forward line for casey is woeful
  12. casey can't buy a goal and Suns.. well you know the answer
  13. "the coach killer" and Schache's first Good chain by Casey
  14. the first "peppering" reference
  15. Fascinating commentary... "Let's not confuse coincidence with causation" Cerebral by comparison to BT
  16. a bird's eye view with this camera angle not bad for giving an overall view of play
  17. Would not mind seeing Woewodin playing the small forward role today for a half or so to see how he goes. Similarly play Laurie on the HBF for a while. IMO fringe players are wise to develop in say two positions to maximise their chances of a senior game. I wonder where we will see Joel S play today? Is he the Lever understudy or the secret weapon forward ?
  18. I stand corrected
  19. see the outs in the quoted post above
  20. Interesting weekend from a ladder movement perspective. Several teams playing another close to them on the ladder. Carlton beating Brisbane is probably in our interest if you subscribe to the theory that Brisbane will win most of their home games. Swans beating Pies makes it just that little easier for us to secure a top two spot by season's end. GWS win over Dogs keeps the Dogs around the bottom of the top 8. Essendon v Port... probably a Bombers win is best for us Freo to lose of course Geelong v Adelaide... a draw would be nice Saints to win and continue with a ?
  21. Poita's post mentions Harmes and TMac as injured..........who knows
  22. No TMac for Casey? Makes sense.. they are very tall .. perhaps a rest is a good idea
  23. the sell a game caper will be in full swing again. Where and who will pay is merely a matter of money Regional NSW/Queensland is my guess Regional Victoria has gorged itself on the Empire Games. Not really a strong regional WA and SA will be gathering O wait there's Shanghai and Vegas !!!
