  1. Ruckmen aren't relevant to their style of play Same with probably half the league
  2. Grundy's price went down by 25% today Think on it...you'll realise why
  3. Another goal to the Pies could make it interesting
  4. Pie's defence being taken apart
  5. The Zone of Indecision (26 points) strikes again
  6. Swans need one more goal before entering the infamous zone of indecision
  7. Howe on Franklin Smart move perhaps.. Franklin is not the danger player We fell into the trap of wasting May on Franklin Now being picked up by Maynard
  8. Don't they have a guy named "King"
  9. Ah... the old reverse front loading issue We never did hear how GCS was compensated when GA Junior left. He had been very heavily front loaded
  10. Late first rounder from Essendon Other clubs..early third rounder
  11. Fritsch was of course drafted the following year which leaves only Hunt and Petty from that team. (Hunt at that time was an established player who had lost form as a running backman.) It's certainly not a nursery for future talent
  12. That thought occurred to me this morning but I see you have already raised it.
  13. Quiz of the week We last played in a VFL grand final in 2018. Is any player from that team still at MFC ?
  14. Such a gameplan One's the forward half ruck the other is the back half ruck Has anyone mentioned that for 60% of a game all players are in the same half if not quarter of the field
  15. Looks like the playing of Joel Smith as a forward experiment has been ditched. A pity
  16. Never really made sense for him to play last week either but.................
  17. Just reading the teams and thinking McDonald was a sensible out having an eye to next year and then I scroll up !!! This season just keeps on giving
  18. Why It will be the same gameplan and we are unlikely to win the first ten games. Injuries were minor in 2022 and as you say exacerbated by bad management. Other than a first year player in JVR we are adding little to our forward line. The second half of 2022 was abysmal and the coaching staff could not arrest the slide. 2023 is a new year so there's hope but I fear we will stagnate around 5-6 ladder wise
  19. For Hunt it's money and contract length We obviously have made an offer and he's looking around. Trade wise it's very late second to mid half third at best
  20. The mini Eddie who gave us the Shanghai Extravaganza.... Save me
  21. Please tell me that this is not the start of a 200 plus page thread a la Jackson.
  22. We had been looking for a small forward for years. Our VFL team is full of "nearly theres". Kozzie is a potential match winner plus he is one of our few "crowd exciters"
  23. I'm starting to think that for your top 15 it's 3 year minimum deals and sign your next deal at the end of year 2 or you could be traded. The problem with the AFL system is that the player needs to consent to the trade It doesn't really matter unless you demand he honours the contract which is not a great way to manage a cohesive list
  24. Just pasted this on another thread.re Kozzie........ TBH I don't want another year of Jackson like speculation. I'm of the mind to say sign or we trade. The kid glove treatment of Jackson got us nothing but distraction
