  1. Play the corridor Goody !! it's wet
  2. Win the next 3 and we are a real contender. 2 out of 3 and we're up there. 1 out of 3 and questions will be asked. Zero out of 3... insert your own conclusions Big Game tonight !!
  3. I've said it before but it's not in their interest to promote the VFL. Double the attendances to 2k and you need more toilets, attendants etc etc. Ideally you could select say 4 grounds .. Vic Park, Port Melbourne etc etc and get them to 5k mini stadiums but until then thank heavens for the streaming coverage we now get. It's a pity because it's a great product for those who want to watch high class football in a relaxed and informal setting
  4. Has been 4.8mm registered at West Terrace but only 2.2mm at the airport. Rain radar shows lots of small rain patches heading towards Adelaide. Will be greasy I expect http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR643.loop.shtml#skip
  5. Crows are a real chance against the Dogs. A cold wet day on Mars favours their direct playing game as against the tall forward play of the Dogs
  6. Go onto the club site and look for an entertainment package... around $200 IIRC
  7. Bulldogs have a nice little deal going with their Ballarat games. Reportedly they get $1M from the State Government to play there. Could we have a game in say sunny Mildura. The irony is that the ground capacity in Ballarat is so small most Dog supporters don't bother with the trip
  8. Salem's return smacks of over reaching given what happened last year. Hope it ends well. My guess is that if the game permits he will be subbed off mid third quarter by Jordon
  9. any news as to whether Salem was on the plane
  10. Put yourself in the position of North Melbourne forward Nick Larkey. He turns 25 next month. He has been in the AFL for six years. He’s played 80 games; of those 80 he’s won just 19. When he plays on Saturday, he will do so under the guidance of his fourth coach in 16 games. The prime years of his career are being wasted. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/the-decision-north-players-must-make-after-clarkson-bombshell-20230518-p5d9f8.html No one could blame any North Melbourne player who wanted to leave. By Kane Cornes - didn't take long Is North now in free fall?
  11. yep Not my choice but if you think of Petty as the up the ground forward it makes sense.
  12. Doubt it If we have a Republic Day it will be a fixed date and will replace Australia Day (but not on 26 January)
  13. The Monarchy Holiday will be gone within ten years. Will they keep the day as a public holiday or move it? Who knows It now sits in or near to School holidays so they may look for another day to spread the economic benefit
  14. I see we are staying with the 2:30pm timeslot for the grand final. I'm not too fussed but it amuses me that we kick up a fuss about the GF time yet every other game is moved hither and thither to satisfy television etc. 7pm start for me fwiw but I'd be happy with 6pm. A 4pm start seems to be neither fish nor fowl. (a bit like 19 teams ...we all know the next move.) The AFL Commission has decided that the start time for the 2023 grand final will remain at the traditional 2.30pm start. The 2023 decider will be played at the MCG on Saturday, September 30. An AFL source who was not authorised to speak confirmed the Commission reached the decision on Wednesday afternoon. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/afl-decides-against-twilight-grand-final-20230517-p5d8y8.html PS I do worry however that a 2:30pm start time is not good for our hundreds of millions of viewers in China and India but I suppose it does work for West Coast USA and the millions of Las Vegas punters wanting to get a part of the action.
  15. Looks like a great place from their website A fresh brew and a Jacks Burger for me please that Vanilla Porter looks like a nice post dinner drop What is your favourite? Enjoy and feel free to post of your enjoyment on the game day thread
  16. The flip side is that I hope we are targeting a 12-18 ranked player at a lesser club that wants a crack at a flag
  17. Yep... my bookmark is a couple of minutes earlier... the failed disposal by Mitch Hannan (otherwise you miss Caleb Daniel dumping Gawn)
  18. Woey is starting to remind me of Stretch and JKH but as yet not as good. Needs to have a good second half of the year at Casey. The other in the mix is AMW.
  19. if we were rating the fringe players on our list (I define fringe as 18-30) he's probably at 25. Can understand the move but I'm not seeing his quality easily replaced by a current Casey player
  20. interesting non committal comment on Salem Possibly in the 23 which would be a big surprise
  21. This weekend marks the next phase of the season. If we can go 6-2 over the next 8 weeks we remain on track for top 2. 4-4 and we are borderline 4th or 5th
  22. 4-6 no numbers can be more aligned with MFCSS
  23. do we.. ask me in six weeks The Pies gameplan is multiple levels above ours
