What they are saying at Arden Street
They'll play the standard Collingwood wave game and try to overwhelm our backs. Do they have the skill to keep it up? The downside for us is that the Collingwood wave begins at our 50M line which invariably leads to our forward line being crowded. The solution is simple... midfield dominance... something that has eluded us in the main this year

It's the roof Keeping it to 23k will allow for lower stands and thus a cheaper roof. There is a site that compares stadium build costs on a cost per seat basis. Optus in Perth was number 1 by a mile with Wembley a distant second I wonder if Hobart will challenge for number 1 (builders in Perth were paid incredible money as they were competing with the mining boom. The end result was good but it wasn't twice as good as Wembley etc)

They will not be viable with a 23k seat stadium unless they are heavily subsidised by someone. Heard a rep from the Tasmanian body say they hoped for 50k members. (Not sure how that works unless they sell away memberships and the away clubs are prepared to deal) The clubs complained that they never saw detailed business plans for GCS and GWS. Same thing happening again on the hope that the golden media pudding will fix all. Shanghai anyone ??

the sensible compromise is GCS to play 11 on GC and 11 in Hobart Home ground advantage is not that big a thing compared to the permanent bye monstrosity that comes from a 19th team My guess is Adelaide will get an extra team at the same time thus making the 20th team. With sensible scheduling AO can easily accommodate an extra team. Docklands and the MCG are shared by 9 teams

Tassie will enter in 2027/2028 and the draft concessions will continue until 2032 minimum

Notice that the AFL haven't outlined the draft and salary cap concessions that will be given. One known is that they'll be better than those given to GWS and GCS

Forward line still needs work. Last year Mcdonald was injured and Weid failed = end of season. What is the answer... Petty's forward craft is atrocious.. He rarely if ever gets separation on his opponent. Down back he's a very good footballer Down back I wish we had given Laurie some VFL time down back as he could provide relief for Bowey North will come at us like Essendon did. Midfield dominance is the key not to mention denying them the corridor Should be an easy win and in the scheme of things means little.... A loss on the other hand

There's a fine line between respect and entertainment. It's worth reflecting as Dutch Demon is upon whether the AFL has appropriated Anzac day for entertainment. I have a view.. others will have different views. The release of the new approach to Defence yesterday was another questionable appropriation of a very important day. We are the only country who celebrates a defeat as its day of remembrance to my knowledge

it is a sellout I believe at a very good revenue per seat return

Essendon have a ruck dominance similar to what we had last night. Doesn't look to be helping them either at centre bounces. Noticed Gawn thumped it forward a couple of times and also took the ball out of the ruck. We need to work out how to make use of such dominance as does Essendon
