very rarely a sell out in the pre GF finals at the MCG Even though members have priority to buy tickets the substantial price sees many back off There's also the series ticket issue. If the only Melbourne PF was between Pies and another Melbourne based team a sell out might be possible

Remind me How many times since 2017 have they beaten us The talk before the last game was by how much we would bury them. When we were down we always performed well against Essendon. Perhaps they have our measure.

Good Post Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. This game is on the coaches
-
If they pay half or more of his salary and you think we are in a 3-5 year window it can make sense
-
This is a big payday for MFC. Only been two 80k plus crowds this year and both involved Collingwood A win would top it off
-
I wonder how they will deal with the VFL bye for those who are possible AFL selections in coming weeks... Smith, Dunstan, Bedford Tomlinson, Chandler, Bowey, JVR and maybe Weid
-
mmmmmmmmm not great

Please make it happen......

From the AFL game day thread "Searching for their first win since Round 21, 2014 at the MCG, Brisbane gave up a 42-point lead and were overrun by the Tigers. This came about as Brisbane's ball movement was stifled by Richmond. In the first half, Brisbane turned 34 defensive chains into 16 forward 50 entries and 6.3 (39); in the second half, 30 chains only yielded seven entries and three behinds."

Should we sing the Tiger song together

Should we get excited

"But the most critical edge that Geelong have over the competition is in player payments. They have more elite players who’ve given up dollars and have averted the modern plague of paying for potential - eg, paying a third or fourth year player $450,000-$500,000 when he’s done diddly-swat." Hard to argue with this point. It was also why Hawthorn did so well for decades

We have significant upside in Gawn and Jackson if not Petracca as well. Can they regain their earlier dominance. If so we will kick winning scores (accuracy permitting) Melksham is delivering but can he sustain/improve it over the next 6 weeks Salem has a lot more to contribute. I'm not super confident but equally not without hope. BBB when fit over Weid is a no brainer for me

Must say I was thinking similar. Also the forward marks he took were mainly uncontested although he does seem to have a natural ability to position himself well. His time will come next year
-
Wouldn't it be strange if the Pies ended on top of the ladder

Weather for next Friday is a little rain and windy Last year we excelled in those conditions playing our percentage system. Not sure that it still works though Harmes was quoted as saying he's fit to go next week
-
but we won't
-
I refuse to get excited but it would be nice Go Power
-
Smith getting some touches in this last quarter. The last thing he needs is a bye next week and of course that's what we have Love the cockatoo sound effects

wrong thread

If you were playing the drinking game for every time the commentator uses the word "spikes" you'd be under the table
-
Good point Last week I mentioned that we are not challenging the younger players enough but there was strong disagreement by some Even a half in a new position every second or third week would do no harm. Winning the VFL flag is nice but it's not the real game
-
And another to JVR (4 goals)
-
And JVR goals (reflex kick)
