  1. Is that a contradiction or am I just fatigued with this whole thread ?
  2. http://websites.sportstg.com/team_info.cgi?action=PSTATS&pID=196455977&client=1-118-187079-477472-26138796 These are his 2018 stats at VFL level - reasonable number of hit outs but rarely gets a mention in the best players and imo doesn't take enough contested marks for someone his size If you look at his kicking efficiency I'd say that's one of the biggest reasons he didn't play in the 1's this year Big, big punt if you ask me offering 4 years
  3. We can all have opinions - watch this space if no trade happens and he does not sign an extension of contract. It will not be me starting the discussion but I am sure his level of commitment will be questioned - particularly if he plays a stinker or two and gets a bit grumpy - has happened before btw
  4. Tend to agree and I will trust the FD to get this right but I have an awful feeling about this one - I fear his lowlights reel would extend well beyond the 17 seconds mark Has anyone watched much of him in the twos for North this year who could offer an assessment of his ability?
  5. Not saying anything negative about Ben Long but that is a v v v big call - Whilst Jeff Garlett has had an underwhelming 2018 season he has an impressive record in the AFL having kicked over 300 goals
  6. Maybe not directly but if a trade doesn't happen and he is not committed then the point/discussion becomes extremely valid
  7. Personally if any of our players are not fully invested / committed to the MFC I'd prefer they played at Casey or went to the beach and let someone who is 100% committed run out onto the field particularly in a GF , Jesse Hogan included
  8. With what ?????
  9. Peter Bell insists that he stays as it makes him feel less self conscious about his lack of inches
  10. If the only reason we are considering a trade for Hogan is to secure May I think there is a real limit to how long each side can wait it out for
  11. The longer it drags on the less face there is to save I suspect which is unfortunate Personally I was looking forward to him sticking around and hoping the FD would experiment with him at CHB assuming TMac and the Weed are up and about
  12. Are you suggesting Hogan can't make a decision as to whether he stays or accepts the offer from Fremantle ? Why would they go ahead and negotiate with Fremantle if they don't even know what his preference / willingness to leave is? That makes no sense to me - I think its far more likely that Fremantle and MFC are bickering on what picks they receive for Hogan /Neale etc. This is like most trade periods where there is so much talk and speculation with precious little happening until the 11th hour when everyone has to either [censored] or get off the pot
  13. Glass half empty type
  14. hmmm they beat us last time we played them from memory - oh dear the pain of it all
  15. Thanks - possibly a bit more relevant
  16. Wow that is very unfortunate
  17. How does he go in a prelim Final ? We seem to be a bit light on for goers in that space atm
  18. Its very simple Jordan Lewis should not be any different to any other player - if his form warrants selection he plays if not he shouldn't Pretty obvious and pretty fair I would have thought I would have thought overall his contribution to the success of the team this year was a net positive - lets see what he brings in the New Year
  19. Actually our theoretical depth goes way beyond that for possible back six candidates (can you have too much? should we look to bolster the midfield / outside runners rather than continuing to load up in defense?) - B Fritsch - TMac if Hogan stays and Weed is going ok - J Smith - J Hunt - H Petty (looks a way off but who knows) - J Wagner
  20. Assuming May is a starter then the 4 bolded above would be locked in (possibly Salem as well) That would leave 4 fighting for a single spot - something has to give
  21. Hopefully our team of medical and other experts has determined he has a heart as big as Phar Lap's and mixes iron filings in with his Nutragrain each morning for breaky
  22. Wow - now that would be a bargain if you are correct So far you have told us he's - quick - would be one of the most talented on our list and, - a revelation Lets hope it pans out that way
  23. May is 193 cm and not as tall as Oscar, Jake Lever or Sam Frost I know that just one consideration but he seems undersized as a key defender to me - having said that obviously our Football dept don't see that as being a problem I cant see how he helps cover Tom Lynch, Buddy, Mason Cox, Joe Daniher, Ben Brown - these guys are all nudging or over 200cm
  24. Not sure about that bit - we don't know what the price is yet do we?
