Agree with everything except Petracca's move to the midfield - he currently struggles to run a game out as a forward - a true midfield tank seems a fair way off
-
I couldn't agree more - it really annoys me all the stuff you read on here about Adelaide tanking , bad luck , we should done this or that. The indisputable fact is that the MFC is still not ready to seriously challenge - they are their own worst enemy by getting complacent , talking themselves up and then failing dismally. They and only they are responsible for not being ready - let us all hope that there are some huge changes in mindset and perhaps personnel over the break that sees the team take another step forward next year - this is now a very very even and tough competition. If we start thinking it's just going to happen then we are in very big trouble and could easily slip back down to a place that we know all too well.

Sam has some qualities that many others don't - size, speed and strength all in one package He is unquestionably a work in progress but if he can refine his decision making, spoiling and delivery he would be a valuable player. These are not easy to do - but significant upside if he could - worth a chance I think

Everyone Has Worked Out Our Weakness (except the coaches)

Interesting observation about Clarkson and kicking - I never thought and still don't think Frawley is an elite kick seems to get a game! -
Hold on - this is the same team that just rolled us without several regular starters in their team in a dead rubber for them and for us a fame that meant so much hmmm, my read of this is they think they have our soft under belly covered and like the sound of stating the season 1-0 and a big gate take just a little bit jaded still I guess but how people think we can show up and roll them by 10 plus goals is extraordinary

"It shouldn't be the end, it should be the beginning"

The MFC is gifted at carefully crafted statements to deflect from the core problem. That is they are not hungry enough to taste the ultimate success - it's been that way for many many years - I find it hard to see it changing any time soon , if at all. I sincerely hope I'm wrong. The performances of other teams in the final round to "get it done" speaks volumes about the lack of hunger or belief that is deeply engrained. -
Settle down Dappa - just stating facts no need to tee off at me - we had plenty of passengers for the first 30 mins - you can't argue with that
-
Yeah because Hogan was having such a huge impact on the game before he went off. Buddy Franklin he ain't !
-
If we can't beat the teams remaining in our draw it's a bit pointless making finals anyway ! i want to make finals when we can beat those teams - not limp into the finals and get smashed first game the team has improved and has been continually improving for the past 3 years we just need that trend to be sustained - then you just never know

Prior to the arrival of Paul Roos at MFC I spent many years having virtually zero confidence in our FD to make any sensible decision on recruitment or team selection. This slowly has changed and right now I have reasonable faith in the FD to get these decisions right the majority of the time. If JL's form or perceived value to the team doesnt warrant selection I am sure he wont play - simple !

Anyone drafting Weideman would have to think he's off to scumbagland the first chance he gets - look elsewhere would be my advice
-
Nothing whatsoever to do with relationships it has everything to do with $$$$ - $400k a year is a lot of coin to a guy plucked from some obscure Tasmanian village and given a break by MFC - bottom line is our FD did not rate him that much so we move on and try and extract the best possible trade to advance our cause - I for one do not think he is the sort of character that I would rely upon to stand up in finals when the heat is really on - Brayshaw, Hogan, Viney, Petracca, Vince, Jones, YES Howe not sure !

SPUD - no thanks

I'm still banging my head over Scully, Trengove, Watts, Sylvia, Strauss, McLean, Blease ........... and the list goes on. Early picks have delivered very little over the years

I thought he was clinically depressed and left the AFL because of the pressure he felt to perform. At least that was the reason quoted at the time. MFC had shown enormous faith and trust in him, he was paid handsomely (presumably) for limited return, he was handed a #11 jumper proudly by one of the most respected and admired people in the community and given support to recover from his illness. It is inconceivable that anyone who was genuinely depressed would want to go down the path that is now being suggested. Walking away from the MFC (unless they just don't want him there) for money or finals glory would generate so much additional pressure for him. I think that would be a mistake of epic proportions.

Hilarious, depressing and typical. Round 3 and the supporters of the MFC have to resort to talking about potential draft picks OMG its so so tragic - every time any semblance of hope emerges for this club it is sucked away in an instant
-
Last time I checked our best was a long way off winning much at all so the thought of "choosing" to go for wins or not is in my mind laughable even with a changed line up Let's see our guys actually show something vaguely resembling AFL standard football before we contemplate pre season strategy of resting players etc
-
Hope you are right and everyone else has no idea I must admit seeing the few clips when he was recruited reminds me a lot of Jordie McKenzie - no match winner IMO
-
I guess if you're really that great James you will get another chance on someone else's list. Personally I think you did all you could and got the most out of yourself which all supporters should applaud you for. But at the end of the day the decision makers wanted to move you on - it happens to a great nymber of players each year unfortunately. Pointing the finger and being critical of the group who gifted you the chance in AFL is not really the best move right now
-
Pretty scary when you think about how much he and Dawes get paid and really they are just an added cost with medical expenses - seen little return on these investments at this stage. I have serious doubts about his ability to get himself right long term and contribute consistently
-
And doing a cracking job too - our better players never seem to get themselves on the park for the most part, others seem to struggle to run faster than Joe Blow in the crowd - hmmm just bad luck ? I have no idea but I'm a tad over it
-
Hilarious - even the dog looks away as he knows whats coming

If you think a "rabbit in the spotlight" is awesome
