  1. Not sure about you but I'm always prepared for the inevitable lack of success and consistency that seems to follow the MFC. Dubious draft picks, terrible luck with injury, prodigious talents that just never seem to reach their potential long term (Jakovich, Jurrah, .....) - it all comes with the territory. The current malaise is no great surprise to me, in fact, I probably would have been more surprised had the glimmer of hope that occurred late last season continued this year
  2. Are you serious they beat us last season when we were travelling much better than now - they would be licking their lips at the prospect of playing us atm
  3. I used to think Buckley was hopeless but I actually think heโ€™s s good coach - they play for each other and seem to have a really good team spirit going Jealous
  4. No we are so good at that
  5. I think we'd all like a second ruckman at our disposal - the problem is they need to be up to scratch - that's the bit that's missing right now
  6. Jack's father was Jay - what would Todd say about that I wonder?
  7. May likely to be out for three games โ€œHeโ€™s probably likely to miss the next three games - Essendon, Sydney and St Kilda,โ€ Misson told Melbourne Media. โ€œHeโ€™s had some good improvement in the backend of this week which weโ€™ve been encouraged by, but itโ€™s about setting him up for a good year.โ€ Pretty crappy start if you ask me
  8. I wish we were looking so slow and vulnerable
  9. Actually, he has had a chance in JLT and practice games and has been underwhelming - he's also been injured as I understand and therefore not fit enough to justify inclusion He gets his chance this week presumably at Casey - start knocking the door down Mr Preuss and genuinely earn your spot rather than being gifted games because we simply want to protect Max - there are others arguably more deserving that could perform that function
  10. So ? Not sure there would be too many takers based on his current output which is close to zero The guy needs to perform before he is given game time at any club, not just Melbourne Why don't you think he played at the North - maybe he just isn't good enough at that level He was a major risk as a recruit if you ask me - so far it's been a complete flop - love him to prove me wrong
  11. I don't get all the love for Preuss - he really has shown nothing to warrant selection in an AFL team so far at Melbourne Simply being big doesn't equate to much at all - in fact, it is likely to be a big liability if he isn't marking, isn't chasing, isn't kicking goals etc. Not saying Gawny doesn't deserve a backup but Preuss would be behind Keilty for mine at this stage
  12. Until they win a flag - preferably more than one - then I'm all ears
  13. I saw little, if anything, last week to suggest a win is likely anytime soon These sorts of comments from the club really do set themselves up for some very harsh criticism should they roll out another insipid result Lose this week and I think a lot of people will be saying the modicum of success this team enjoyed late last season was an aberration - and the current state is simply a return to business as usual for this club
  14. Spot on youโ€™ve nailed it
  15. Yep thatโ€™s not easy to fix - of course itโ€™s all academic unless we start winning games consistently I remember 2017 well % at the pointy end of the season can equate to one win - 80 point losses are almost equivalent to two losses
  16. They are going to copy our game style - that could bring them unstuck
  17. Saw the headline and just assumed that was the number of Forward 50 entries we will need to kick 100 goals
  18. Yes they look like big improvers some good needs based recruiting seemingly paying off handsomely at this point in Neale and Cameron brings a tear to my eye when I consider the meagre returns from our recent recruiting and also whether it has been really addressing our key needs
  19. Actually not commenting on his haircut more an observation about the level of intent and desire that permeates the entire football club including I suspect #26 There appear to be a lot of cruisers at the MFC who seem to get very comfortable with their position and output very quickly and donโ€™t seem ever capable of consistent performances After a long off season where everyone including the players , coaches , media , supporters talk them up itโ€™s not surprising that people now once again question the mental strength of this group - they are the only one ms to bring this doubt on and the only ones that can remove it - lets see if they respond next week - I doubt it
  20. A few weeks ago we were a destination club - not sure about that now
  21. Nothing new there heโ€™s no Wayne Carey or Dermott Brereton thatโ€™s for sure He has a very very long way to go Personally I donโ€™t feel like he has the mongrel to get there
  22. FLOP !
  23. I can confirm you are most definitely delusional
  24. I expected that this would be a comfortable loss but itโ€™s the way this team lets everyone down that is just so depressing and predictable
  25. Please surely you never seriously thought that was a possibility
