  1. Ok so I admit I have watched this a few times because its a great rebound goal and shows how well we can move the ball BUT The more I watched the more I started laughing at Joe Daniher and his defensive efforts - just focus on big Joey - really good effort !
  2. From the NSW Health Website FYI Stay at home rules If you are in NSW and you have been in Victoria on or after 4pm Thursday 27 May 2021 you will need to follow stay-at-home rules. This includes travellers from anywhere in Victoria (both Greater Melbourne and regional Victoria). If you have arrived after 4pm on Thursday 27 May 2021, you must stay at your residence until 14 days have passed since you were last in Victoria, or until advised otherwise by NSW Health, unless you have a reasonable excuse to leave, such as obtaining food and services travelling for the purposes of work or education if you cannot work or study at home medical care or exercising outdoors.
  3. How is travelling more than 25km in a plane any different to travelling more than 25km in a car ? Love your creative thinking but I think you'd better get back to the drawing board
  4. Yes I thought the same thing I understand why Goodes has problems with the way he was treated but I don't really understand his reasons for rejecting what appears to me to be clear recognition of his contribution and significance to the game Feels like we can never forget or forgive and move on and therefore racial tensions can never be resolved - rejecting the invitation may make a statement that your [censored] off but it doesn't seem to help with reconciliation and healing which has to start somewhere/sometime
  5. May the gulf in their respective output and performance grow every week - Trac has a chance to put that debate to bed well and truly this Monday - Love to see him rip them to pieces
  6. I went for the A category (most expensive - was $30 for me and $70 extra ticket) which landed us in the top level of the O'Reilly stand - when I tried the other categories seemed to get me on the fence or a couple of rows back - not my preference
  7. Actually fyi tried to open link in email and says tickets not available before 48 hours prior to event
  8. Same for me just ordered & paid for mine - received text message and nothing on link - assume they will sort that out at some stage Impressive system - NOT Anyway go Dees - put the filth to the sword and show no mercy
  9. I get what you are saying it’s my view largely based on his form over the last 2 seasons and - he always seemed to get a lot of free kicks (and yes was good enough to convert) - doesn’t seem strong when comes to contested marking - doesn’t really add anything in terms of f50 pressure
  10. I think that's overstating the commentary on Sam tbh The vast majority acknowledge he has ability but its not clicking for him at present - there are various views put forward as to why he's not firing but its mostly constructive. I'd also suggest that the majority of posters want to persevere with Weid rather replace him (for now at least). I think on balance most people want to see some continuity for him so he can hopefully hit his straps and become a reliable player that impacts every week
  11. TMac is a good example of what can happen when players realise what they need to change to improve their impact in the team Weid has ability and I'm not criticising him as I genuinely feel is trying his best but just like TMac, Harmes, Hunt, Brayshaw, Tommo before he got injured - Weid needs to discover what works and what doesn't work to reach his potential
  12. Ok lets agree to disagree on the fact he is impacting games enough atm However, if you or Sam think that he is going to make at AFL level relying on taking pack marks then I'm afraid you are both going to be very disappointed. Can he jump - you betcha, can he get hands to the ball - yep, Is he easily pushed aside/under the flight of the ball - yep. He will I'm sure take the odd pack mark but for him to really succeed he needs to learn to work as hard as TMac or a Nick Riewoldt creating space then running into it For Sam what works at VFL level is not going to work consistently in the AFL the sooner he realises that the better imo
  13. Love your optimism and not saying he is a lost cause but that is just so far off the mark - literally I would probably persevere with Sam too as I really don't rate BB much and frankly his last exposed form in the VFL sounded very poor. Based on that Mitch Brown or Majak Daw would be more deserving of a call up or simply revert to the structure we had before Weid or BB were available for selection. Weid has ability - he will probably get another chance this week but those chances will eventually disappear unless he can find a way to impact the game consistently. I really think he is more of a lead up forward than pack marking forward and therefore we need to create space for him to run onto the ball - hopefully with Spargo delivering. His kicking looks shaky too atm which has been a strength before. In my opinion if he continues to try and take pack marks as his main focus he isn't going to make it he's simply not strong enough
  14. Try Wilson parking Entertainment Centre at Moore Park I think it’s Lang Street that’s what I plan to do
  15. I didn’t see any negative comments about the supporters who were there - no idea why we got a serve :) I understand why people where concerned at half time they looked very flat but I remember thinking we can play better. Statistically Brisbane’s best quarter has been the second and their worst the 4th so 20 points down at half time it was definitely not over We did need a rocket ? sounds like one was fired and a response came that is the best thing - it’s not always about winning it’s the manner in how it’s happens - to me that was the most impressive thing
  16. Yep they seemed to appreciate the support it was great to be there Love big Max such a great character- really [censored] me off in the first quarter when they clearly were targeting him again
  17. These young guys are the reason we have improved so much - for a group with so few games they are really performing at a very high level absolutely the best recruiting I’ve seen at the club in many years They have a great opportunity to build a dynasty and enjoy success together I never really thought I’d ever see a Melbourne team in that position - love to see it happen
  18. To be fair the ball just didn’t spend much time in our forward half in the first two quarters - when it did it was either bombed in or not kicked to advantage I watched him closely last night and he is frustrating because it’s clear there is ability - he can jump and get his hands to the ball but just struggles to hang on His kicking usually is reliable but last night he looked as if he was putting himself under pressure as though he knows it’s critical for him to score goals to retain his spot I really feel he would be a much better player if he tried to use his agility to lead into space where possible and others kick in front of him He’s not Hawkins, he’s not going to be a contested mark beast he needs to learn how to maximise his strengths and the rest of the team need to help him get there Ive never been convinced Sam has the real hunger but he does have ability When I compare him to Trent Rivers it’s obvious one is a natural footballer I hope Sam and the coaching group can work it out and get him firing because it’s one area of this team that’s a bit off - I was thinking last night how good this team would be with Hipwood running around in our forward 50
  19. I’m really pleased for TMac I remember him being interviewed a few years back and I thought at that time he would captain and achieve so much He has obviously worked incredibly hard over the off season to address areas of his game that weren’t working He was a critical factor in turning the game around last night - keep up the great work Tom
  20. The more times Charlie gets the ball the better we are - he creates, he is smart, he rarely if ever wastes a possession. The great thing is he is getting it more and the team is better for it At half time I said we looked flat and I was a bit worried after half time we were back to the team that moved the ball with fast hands and connected with forwards - half way through the third Brisbane looked fatigued and despite the closeness of the scores I felt reasonably relaxed that they were completely on top such a weird feeling ! so many players lifted a gear it was great to watch it was the first time I’d seen Trent Rivers play live - kid can play
  21. It was amazing to see so many demon fans there all proud of their team - would say the crowd was at least 80% Dee’s fans
  22. Great last half the small but excited crowd loved every minute - go dees
