  1. We look very undersized down back normally Hipwood and Daniher can’t kick straight BUT tonight they can we look flat and nobody dangerous up front need a big turnaround
  2. We will be cheering them on as loud as we can - sorry all those Melbourne based faithful are unable to attend ps: lovely sunny day atm but rain forecast tonight so might be wet weather football - I think that may be a slight benefit to us
  3. Thanks Robbie57 that's all consistent with what I thought was the case. Have rung the club and waiting for confirmation Not sure how it works with seats if I purchase some on ticketmaster - can't imagine there will be a big crowd given no Sydney team involved but also conscious that it is a pretty small ground (capacity wise) Nice choice of favourite player btw - Tulip was very special !
  4. Thanks I thought my membership would get me in but who knows these days ? Will get onto Ticketmaster at 2 pm thx
  5. How did you get tickets ? I’ve been looking everywhere and can’t see anything? I’m a country member of MFC and want to take the kids as well thx
  6. Has a few issues sticking a tackle too He is very easily pushed off position - if anyone interferes with his run and leap he struggles big time I'm no coach so will leave it totally up to them to try and help him but if it was up to me I'd be kicking footballs to him with either May or Lever opposed and see if he can beat them - when/if he starts to win say 20% with marks he's probably ready - until then he has a lot of work to do.
  7. Great effort from a side that finely looks like the penny has dropped some of the fastest and cleanest use by hand I’ve seen loved watching them sing the song after the game they look like a very happy TEAM - I’m desperate to see them have the ultimate success because they have clearly worked very very hard for a considerable period of time to get the chance pity to lose Langdon for next week but it does give someone else a chance to step up - assume Sparrow Well done Dees needed to make a statement and did
  8. No premierships are not won in May. They can however be lost during the season by dropping games that very good teams would win. If we don't finish top 4 and preferably with a home final it will be very very difficult. There are some good teams sitting below us that are more than capable of taking our spot in a matter of weeks Few people actually believe this team can continue to perform at a high level and really challenge for a premiership - there is a reason for that - we will see what this team is really made of soon enough I will not be jumping off anything if they loose to the dogs (unless its a thumping) but if they do, then loose to Brisbane I would lay money on them dropping the Collingwood game - if we head down that track our good start will count for little
  9. I would be - it effectively means that we can't beat them in a final - this is as close to a final you can get during the season proper It's the classic 8 point game, both teams have a chance to grab top spot and a clear break on the next in line We have to stop thinking near enough is good enough - why bother if we can't actually win a premiership. I for one am sick of making up the numbers Time to make a very big statement - are you good enough or not ? we get the answer this Friday night
  10. BB and Weid don’t deserve a game based on their current form Pointless playing guys in the hope they come good - both need a very big kick up the a$$ and start performing
  11. Compelling logic - hope you’re right ?
  12. Had a tap on the shoulder from the AFP have we gregdemon :)
  13. Not going to argue with any of that and I certainly wasn't arguing for the Weid to keep his spot - I am on record as saying I have little faith in either Weid or BB I couldn't care less if BB has kicked 60 goals in three seasons his performance on the weekend was deplorable for a guy that wants to play AFL. He should not be gifted a game after that effort - sends a terrible message to the list I'd prefer to drop them both and go with the formula that seemed to be working quite well before both these guys overcame injuries and became available for selection What's wrong with TMac and LJ as talls and Fritta as third marking option - the dogs are quick and I think we are more of a chance if we have more speed not less (because BB is not quick that's for sure) This week is a real test of character for our team - they have found a way in a few wins this year that for large parts of the game were uninspiring The dogs have demolished sides this season when they get on top - hopefully we are on for 100% of the game
  14. How could anyone seriously think including BB against the dogs is worth considering Virtually zero output in a VFL game when a spot in the AFL team beckoned - really really really disappointing
  15. I personally remain unconvinced in either Weid or BB - neither seems to have any real strength and aggression, both too easily pushed under the ball or out positioned by key defenders Time will tell if either will start performing at the level we want/expect - this week it was a toss of the coin as to who made way for LJ who in my opinion offers more to the team atm
  16. Fair call - I wasn't necessarily accusing him of being complacent or lazy simply asking the question and trying to find the reason for his poor performance However If he was ill - he should not have played If any opposition player can completely shut him out of the game - that is a serious concern TMac and BB playing together the week before didn't seem to remove him from the game Maybe he did just have an off night - lets hope so - he wouldn't want to back it up again with another as there is strong competition for spots which is great for this team and something that's been missing for a very long time
  17. Agree - he certainly was standout in terms of lack of contribution vs the Swans He has been good so far this year - if there is any real weakness in his game its lack of consistent effort/pressure when he doesn't have the ball (or at least that what it looks like) and his iffy conversion/kicking for goal The latter seems to be on track atm but his ability to drop off and not do the crucial team things is a concern - particularly after a good performance the week earlier - complacency perhaps / feeling safe in the team ?
  18. I am disappointed they didn't change into their red socks to sing the anthem after the game :(
  19. If Brown plays poorly for the next game or two we can and should expect him to play at Casey
  20. Yep he has - however its a big jump from VFL to AFL as he and others have shown time and time again Ben Brown has a body of work at AFL level that quite frankly leaves Weid for dead and that is why he got the call first For the record I have always doubted the recruitment of Brown - he does in my opinion have some significant deficiencies, however despite what I think he's kicked a lot of goals for a team that was fairly average so he must be doing some things well Weid seems like a well balanced young man with a sensible head on his shoulders he knows that if he keeps performing well then his chance will come - as I said when it does its up to him to take it It may come through the lack of output from any of Brown, Tmac or Jackson or through an injury (hopefully not) If it was up to me and I had to keep one of Brown or Weid at this time it would probably be Weid - based on potential not runs on the board
  21. We are about 1/3 the way through the H&A season He had a significant setback with injury which means he is behind others at this stage He - like everyone else he needs to earn his position - he is progressing ok and the coach has publicly stated he is an important player current/future Bottom line is that a bit of patience is required all round - he will get his chance no doubt Will he take it and lock himself into best 22 - that is the big unknown
  22. Great news and IMHO the correct outcome - very fair player - no intent - purely accidental Fritta has become a very important player and critical that he keeps playing and remains in good form if we are to kick winning scores
  23. Great to have Trac on board for the ride Says to me there is some real belief amongst this group of young guns Hope they can achieve great things together - will be special for everyone
  24. Its April - yes things are going well Have we actually achieved anything like what we should be aspiring to - NO Keep the lid on until we have the job done - a premiership cup is what this group should want - anything less is a disappointment There is a long long long way to go in this season - much can change and change quickly Hope not but we need to remain fully focused on every training session, every contest, every quarter, every match till Max holds the Cup in the air
  25. Good luck BBB - you will need to perform as others are waiting for your spot !
