WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN
Sydee replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Moniz-Wakefield is in the same boat imo - he does do some nice things but like a lot of guys playing VFL needs to be involved for longer within games to start coming into consideration for senior selection -
I didn't really expect much else but this is the replay from MFC when I raised the topic of unfair fixturing playing at Geelong every season. In hindsight perhaps Im should have sent my comments to Gary Pert directly Thank you for contacting Melbourne membership. Unfortunately, the Melbourne Football Club have no influence on the AFL rolling fixture. Whilst we provide recommendations and fan insights, there are many contributing factors that lead to the published outcome. We acknowledge this may be problematic for certain members and supporters. Thank you for supporting our club. Have a lovely day! Kind Regards,

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - FRASER ROSMAN

Some interesting observations here - I'm not too sure how many posters have watched many Casey games in forming a view however my take on Rosman is as follows - can run (I haven't seen much to date to suggest he is genuinely quick like a Hunt or Baker) - can kick long and fairly accurately over shorter distances - can take a high mark - I doubt he will ever be a KP player as he isn't big enough for that (at least for now) - I note a few have suggested he has poor footy IQ - I'm not convinced about that yet - I think his biggest challenge is getting stronger over the summer so he can compete physically against mature bodies. By comparison Trent Rivers is a similar age but I would say is physically much more competitive at this stage He has been tried as a wing with limited success and this year mostly down back where he has been pretty solid. Given some his capabilities if he can build some strength over summer I would be inclined to try him in the F50 as a mobile marking option -
Not really a fan of Tex - best well behind him imo and may be a culture killer Contracted till end of 2023 at Swans I think but Joel Amartey is the guy I would be looking at - 197cm 100kg, can mark, kick and pretty mobile - with the right coaching and an opportunity could be a player

There is an obvious mistake - we are not playing at Geelong

Witches Hat's Guide to Posting on Luke Jackson Thread

At least now we are getting random bits of information about open houses in Malvern rather than hyperbole and baseless speculation -
I think they both suck which is why they draw crap crowds
-
And an analysis of scoring efficiency from F50 entries - I'd be shocked if we were high on that measure - our defence and midfield pump the ball in more than most teams
-
Trying to get away from them ?
-
I have emailed the club and asked them to follow up with the AFL - we can all rejoice if something comes of it
-
I'd rather not imagine anything to do with BT
-
Whilst it is very tempting to push Petty forward I think they will resist purely because our biggest strength is defence and he is a critical part of that structure If we had the luxury of Disco Turner with 25 games more and was performing well at senior level or say Joel Smith to take Petty's back six role then it would be more tempting - however we are not in that position I really hope that when Joel Smith is fit again (fingers crossed) he gets a run in the forward half - there are few options down back without more injuries and I think he is too good to be languishing at Casey. He would imo offer a more competitive aerial option than BB with greater mobilty and capacity to apply F50 pressure. This is obviously dependent on TMac's availability Tomlinson is not the answer in the F50 imo he is not strong overhead and not quick enough to be effective on the lead

Great post - this is, as we already know a complete and utter farce from a fixturing perspective I would really like our CEO to forcefully put to the AFL that our annual trip to this dung heap should be replaced by Rich, Carl, Haw, Ess and of course the filth until such time as they all rack up 18 appearances down there
-
True but not the ones he has been playing alongside for the last 3 years and won a Cup with
-
Thanks SWYL hopefully your mail is accurate I've said this a number of times but I struggle to see any compelling reason for any of our players to leave other than if they are driven by dollars only - naturally that's important but it is not the main driver for most young guys. For them it would be playing alongside good mates and winning. The money decisions are best left to when they have one good contract left
-
If both Gawn and Jacko are fit to play I would replace B Brown for Gawn Jacko replaces M Brown Weid stays in as ruck support for Jacko Gawn to play mostly deep forward
-
The most encouraging element of his game for me was the fact he looked genuinely upset when he gave away the free kick to Walker - Sam needs to play with more passion imo he just seems to drift through games
-
First, I think Jackson is a bit of a unicorn they don't make many, if any, of those so when you have one you should keep them There is no way either of Rosman or Turner are going to be his replacement IMO. Turner is more in the mold of a hybrid Lever / Petty type. Rosman I'm not so sure if, or where, he fits in. He does has some ability - I think he needs to have a very busy summer and maybe get Dogga to give him some tips on how to get bigger and stronger
-
JUH is a really interesting one - he certainly looks capable - but so does the Weid 😲 JUH's kicking last night was poor and as Lethal said he simply looks incapable of winning possession unless its via a mark - if that's your one and only source it makes it a bit tough in the AFL - for a guy that not a monster in size he doesn't seem to be overly agile
-
True - you forgot to add that half of that next $100k goes to the tax man
-
That didn't age well
-
Actually agree with Max on this (at least at this stage) - it forces Weid to get involved and get a bit more physical I'd still like to see a combo of Weid and LJ in ruck and Max 80% in F50 as the key tall - especially if BBB is not performing
-
One of my all time favorites - incredible athleticism and a ton of courage
