  1. Doh!! missed it? what was it?
  2. LOL...oops, you know what i meant
  3. May as well put in my 10 cents worth.... FB: Frawley, Warnock, Bennell HB: Grimes, Rivers, Green C: Morton, Davey, Bruce HF: Watts, Bate, Sylvia FF: Wonaemirri, Jurrah, Watts R: Moloney, scully, Jamar Int: Martin, mclean, Mcdonald, Strauss Emg: Trengove, Blease, Jones, petterd
  4. Jetta been reasonably impressive.
  5. you obviously dont share the passion. Any true Melbourne fan who has passion for the club could understand what Robbo was trying to get across, even if we arent in the inner sanctum. Th eway he felt about playing for the club is the way we feel about barracking for the club. It just reminds how much footy has sucked the last 3 years. I want that emotion back.
  6. Another sad day, so many good memories. Great player and true club champion. Perosnally didnt see the harm in him staying on a year with a full pre season to help th edevelopment of Watts and co but thats modern footy.
  7. Is the affect of the farewell games for wheats, whelan and robbo a concern? Suppose not even that could get us over the line against St Kilda but its a slight worry.
  8. looks like we can forget about seeing Watts again this season. Its been 1 week for 3 weeks
  9. great news, but so disappointing Watts cant be out there getting valuable experience as well.
  10. 17250. Im not going or watching. Im done with barracking against my own team....
  11. I was in a twilight zone yesterday. I was agressively cursing my own players with extreme hatred for scoring wonderful goals in the last quarter. This behavious later proved to me that this whole situation is out of control. I realise how desperately we need those picks so i now have to seperate myself from the game of AFL for the next 4 weeks for my own sanity. I cant cope anymore with barracking against the club i have loved for the last 20 years.
  12. I think the length of time that passes without winning a premiership can change the essence of what a club is about. In our case the fact its been 45 years means we are at the point where a premiership matters most and some of the other elements mentioned begin to have less impact.
  13. As others have menitoned, for me its the lack of essential development of Garland, Wanna, Blease, Strauss, Maric, Buckley mainly due ot injury and the low number of games played by Watts. Thought it would be a major development year for these blokes but instead we have been stuck with the the likes of Jones, Batram, miller, Dunn, Johnson who we already knew were not up to it.
  14. i just hope it is precautionary with Grimes like you are all assuming. Id like some word from the club on how serious it is. All good and well him not playing to assist us with the picks but not if his back is serious again.
  15. Jarka, your selections are pretty spot on. Viney, G Lovett and Tingay. Although the latter two didnt play a greta amount of games they were the most influential midfielders we have had in my time. Yze played a lot across half back, otherwise he would probably replace Lovett. Leoncelli is up there as well. Tingay was an elite player and if fit would have steered us closer to a flag.
  16. Dont even bother posting Tom Scully threads anymore because we aren't going to get him, have you looked at the ladder? With Freo, richmond, north and sydney still to come, we blew our chance yesterday.
  17. If we win you can say goodbye to pick 1 as well....Freo will only win 1 more game at best they are a rabble. Imagine after all this hype about Scully looks like we may have ot settle for pick 2 only.
  18. An extremely offensive and ill informed reply. My point has nothing to do with Jim on a personal level, im devastated for Jim and his family and have done nothing but think about him all day. Im actually really disappointed in your reaction to my comments as I am making a point about the failings of previous boards and my doubts and concerns about the ability of a board going forward without Jim at the helm. As far as i know this was a topic about the the board going forward so i was just airing my views but im really put off posting on this forum as your accusations of me being disrespectful to Jim Stynes has made me sick in the stomach.
  19. shocking ins. Good to see Bailey and co bowed to the media pressure re Watts. Quite pathetic.
  20. Unfortunately the "Anything is possible" motto cant be upheld without Jim at the helm. He had a passion that is unsurpassed by these other silver spooner board members who have other priorities in life. Stynes was able to get everyone to believe and was the driving force behind all the good work . I feel this is the beginning of the end. Im not a spiritual person but we did enter some strange dimension of karma when Norm Smith got sacked, I believe that.
  21. Bailey seems to be giving guys who come in from casey 2 consecutive weeks even if their form isnt great in their return game (jetta, cheney and bell week before) so i think Petterd will stay in. I cant see anyone from Casey getting slected this week on form, but i think there has to be some changes given the atrocious form of guys like Johnson,Mclean, Morton, miller, Robbo.
  22. Seems like Strauss doesn't work hard enough or something. He's supposed to be a "run the lines" type player yet is rarely seen. When he does run with the ball he looks promising.
  23. Agreed x 2, no interest in any of those players except Maric and Strauss. They are all back up players at best going forward. I highly doubt strauss would be dropped.
  24. Short sighted views in Footy really annoy me. Its about premierships not meaningless victories in a losing season. Anyone who thinks that win against the doggies was worthwhile is on the wrong wave lenght. I agree that id much rather lose to west coast and knock off maybe Carlton towards the end of the year. Beating West coast wont achieve anything and wont even really give me a good winning feeling, knowing that their hearts arent in it anyway and knowing what we risk losing.
  25. Batram's constant turnovers across half back are just too costly. Newton deserves a run of 3 or 4 games. Germans match reports suggest he has been working on his defensive pressure. I didnt see the Bullants game admittidly.
