Theres no reason why Watts shouldnt play off the bench again. Experiencing an interstate game will be good learning curve, he improved last game, hes on school holidays and hasnt really had "bruising" games so far so shouldnt be feeling worn out. Out: Whelan, Batram, Robbo, Morton, Jetta In: Newton, Jones, Warnock, Maric, Petterd (also if Jamars fit he should replace Johnson)

Anyone know how much it will be to get a seat on 3rd level then even though ive got 17 game membership?
-
In defence of other posters, i dont think ive seen one person critisise Watts. If anything peoples comments show that they are actually realising they have to be more patient. No one has said he's been poor or wont be a good player in the future.
-
Fair point i cant think of one either. I also think we are all going a bit easy on him because we are petrified he wont turn out to be the player we thought he would be hence the "he will take time" argument.
-
Yes im still confident he will be a good player in the future, but i think deep down we were all hoping he would have a reasonably immediate impact given the raps on him. Looking forward to seeing Jurrah play.
-
Sounds like Watts is miles off having an impact at AFL level, disappointing for us fans.

For those of you who play Supercoach this will mean a lot. Im a big believer that champion data rankings are a good reflection of a players performance as it includes disposal efficiency and contested/uncontested marks and kicks. These are millers rankings this year: 21,69,24,132,0,50,89,44,42 Scores of less than 50 generally put you in the bottom 20% of players on the field and he has 6 games with a ranking of 50 or less (including a 0!) and only 1 game of more than 90. This says a lot about his lack of worth to the team and i have never known a player who has gained such a false reputation on the basis of 1 or 2 good games a year.

QUEENSLAND: PERFECT ONE DAY, RIEWOLDTING THE NEXT
stranga replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I absolutely agree. I am bemused by these inclusions, particularly Bell. Not only are both players talentless but they go against our philosophy of playing kids and developing a skillful team. A real step backwards this week. Petterd has been played out of position and im sensing another wasted talent. -
How can Watts not be in the best if his performance was so sublime? Rapt about Struass, he will be in the casey seniors this week
-
Its strange if you look at Jurrahs stats it doesnt looklike he had a quiet game - 14 Possies, 4 tackles, 7 assists fromthe fwd line sounds ok to me on paper. Disappointing about struass.
-
Absolutely spot on, surely the coaches can see this and its a matter of time before Bennel replaces him. No way Cheney will get dropped. IN:Green, Bennel Out: Batram, Dunn
-
fair point, but at least when he plays in the VFL it is contributing to his development so if he gets hurt its as a result of trying to further ready him for AFL , but it just seems its a meaningless school footy game which will have no impact on his development/transition to AFL.

I'm sure there are a lot of people who are as nervous as I am about Jack playing for his school this week. How are we going to find out if he gets through it in once piece? I'm personally dead against this. If he wanted to play school footy he shouldn't have nominated for the draft last year.

Not much mention of Hughes here but i thought he deserves some credit, was very lively. Took some strong grabs and kicked important goals.

18,000. Twilight dont forget, our supporters dont show up to normal Sunday games let alone twilight.
-
No loss at all, i dont consider him part of our future, it will give someone like cheney or bennel a chance to play and develop.
-
awesome thanks much appreciated.

So will someone be able to post some updates today for those who cant get all the way out to Casey?
-
you obviously didnt watch the game last weekend.....
-
Worst players on our list are Miller, Sylvia, bell and Batram. Together they cost us the game today with their poor efforts, decision making and skills. I personally have had enough of watching these guys play and im desperate to see them replaced by the likes of grimes, Watts, strauss and bennel. Dean Bailey spoke at the members info night about him wanting players who can cope with pressure situations and step up when it counts. Well these blokes showed today they do not fit in with the direction we are going.

thanks finally some meaningful photos of the boys! Watts conveniently wears a tshirt. hehe
-
just a random membership qn: Last year we were told our actual membership cards would be "reusable" every year (which i thought was stupid). Have they decided to persist with this format or are they issuing new cards this year?

disappointing its not live on Fox sports. Wonder why not?

Melbourne sign Frawley, Garland, Jones, Petterd, Bate and Newton
stranga replied to w00dy's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes Newton hasnt been playing well, but the criticisms of him on this site are really over the top. The current flaws in his game are easily fixable in my opinion, he has the raw talent underneath. Not all key position players can have the impact of a Neitz, franklin or reiwoldt so early in their career. Im not so worried about the two years. On Petterd, id say its a formality that he will go home to GC17. Going to be tough to stomach but we should prepare for it. -
[sylvia - did he play ?? Got to be heading the trade list currently]
