  1. +1 not going to take us fwd. In the same boat as Dunn bate for mine.
  2. The quicker people start to accept that hes gone the better. Its shattering for everyone but its surely a done deal now. If everyone is willing to risk their credibility by saying he is gone why isnt someone willing to go the other way and say he is staying. That way if he did they gain credibility. Someone like Ox wouldnt want to add fuel to the fire for no reason. He loves the club.
  3. why would GWS not draft it to make it as binding as possible then?
  4. Too many people are putting their reputations on the line now for this to be purely speculation. This suggests to me that there is some truth in it. Maher for example is not usually a rumour monger from memory. Also, the fact is that history tells us that most players who were strongly spoken about for the GC last year ended up leaving. Scully is high on the list. In Scully's press conference he wasnt definitive either way. Used a lot of words like "Hope to". People in football tell white lies all the time. The CBA probably wont even be resolved by contract date now so that excuse goes out the window. Plus as weve seen other players (murphy, pendlebury) are indicating they will put pen to paper soon.
  5. Every decision that gets handed down makes the Trengove decision more and more farcical. Thomas 1 week for that deliberate snipe. ridiculous. At least he is out this week.
  6. Not a bad suggestion but you'll get the usual "too late for families" on mon night argument which would hurt crowd numbers.
  7. Keeping scully is the most important thing the club has faced since the merger. He must stay. Last night proved the club will be built around him for a decade. He is irreplaceable
  8. Talented exciting young team on paper, but we are in for another belting . Let's hope we let the shackles go a bit more this week
  9. If Dunn comes in instead of Howe the coaches are jokers. If Strauss has added a bit of aggression to his game, surely he is exactly what we need. Some of the highlights of casey showed him hitting the contest pretty hard.
  10. Yes we have a gameplan, but its not capable of beating majority of other AFL sides on any given day. The crows put up little resistance, thats the difference.
  11. correct, we mus'nt lose sight of this. Its natural to feel sympathy for him now that we have this injury situation but the fact is he is strategically and tactically incapable, regardless of the team we are fielding.
  12. Barring some sort of miracle, will definitely be a smashing. Morton very very lucky.
  13. Great news. Howe should play also. Hes already 20 and had senior experience and has food VFL form. Howe in for Bate would make me extra happy.
  14. when does the collective baragining agreement get finalised anyway? I thought i heard that it wouldnt be done in time for contract end date anyway?
  15. The softeness is so entrenched in this clubs culture I don't see how it can be changed now. Just look at the fact that we hired Bailey in the first place and drafted half of the guys we did. What we are also good at is ruining the potential of a lot of good young players.
  16. I didn't see much improvement from green at all. Jones has the most overrated stats going around. So costly.

    Aaron Davey

Please no more excuses. The guy is soft as butter, crumbling under the pressure of leadership and hard tags. As has been said, his pathetic costly mistakes today were enough alone for him to be dropped, on top of his insipid form this whole year.
  18. One thing I've learnt is that VFL form for senior players is misleading and irrelevant- eg bate, j Mac, newton. Davey will not be part of any future success and his attitude and poor leadership is a prime reason for our problems. Most of our senior players are down hill skiers. Our gameplan is ludicrous. The sideways movement and switching across half back is bizarre and not afl standard. There are no areas of the gameplan that are effective. ZERO. newton suits Melbourne. He's an embarrassment.
  19. Good point. Yes players are soft and badly out of form but the so called game plan is absolutely unplayable and is the main cause of the problems. Sideways movement is bizarre. Davey has got to go, permanently. disgrace for a so called leader. Petterd needs to be dropped. Try get a hard ball instead of sooking to the ump when u get brushed off the ball. Newton will be gone forever. That miss sums up his ability. Bate is not a footballers a hole. Horrifically bad. Just debut as many as possible, the seasons shot. Get some senior experience in time for the new coach.
  20. Im desperately trying to put myself back in 2009 frame of mind. Development and experience until we get a proper coach. Really hoping to see Blease, Howe, Evans, Strauss, Mckenzie, Gawn get some game time now to give me some motivation.
  21. Very sad news. Legend of the game.
  22. Well said. The excuses make me cringe. There are deeper issues.
  23. Correct. The playing group as a whole are mentally insipid, captain down. This along with the fact that our coaching staff are a joke and the recruiters have picked too many players who simply arent up to AFL..
  24. Green, dunn, Davey were all pathetic and have been all year. If they had some balls theyd strip the captaincy and vice captaincy. Only thing is we have such a pathetic list there is no one to give it to other than Moloney. Warnock was average. Jones' disposal and decision making is atrocious. Wonna is not going to make it. One of the worst indivisual games ive seen ina while. The whole team lack heart and self decency
  25. Jetta for mine. We need another stoppage player. Others can cover the half back role.
