Well i find the over the top optimism, surrealism and inability to contemplate negative outcomes pathetic and embarrassing.

I dont reckon its the worst, plus i reckon every melbourne supporter suffers from it in some degree, however you want to explain it. Any supporter of a club that hasn't won a flag in 40 years should be wary.

The Syndrome is like a any stereotype, it exists for a reason! Poeple dont just make stereotypes up out of thin air. Maybe because over the last 40 years we havent had a lot of things go right and when they do go right things tend to conspire to prevent it from continuing. There are many example and this Scully saga threatens to be another. In the flip side to the syndrome, how can some people be so sure that things will be ok this time?

Regardless of whether this happens (im nearly convinced it will now), The AFL has created a monster but they are too damn arrogant to admit it even though they wouldn’t be happy about the drafting system being destroyed. All these big wigs at the club and the AFL failed to think of this scenario when signing off on the concessions. What happened to due diligence? We supporters and members have been shafted.

I agree with Dapa, Money talks, particularly when its such large amounts. Unfortunately I think Scully will leave unless maybe we get close to a grand final this year which is unlikely. I hope im wrong but its possible he hasn't been at the club long enough to build a level of affiliation and loyalty that would outweigh the amounts of money being spoken of. However this is really putting a dampener on what should be an exciting season so i also pledge not to discuss this topic until there is substantial news.
