  1. I will be there on Sunday. I have always loved the Dees and hope each week I will be there to witness the match where everything turns around for us. It's only.a matter of time....
  2. I think I read in the footy record last week that the public can have a kick on the G at the end of this match. That might attract a few more along - especially the kids.
  3. It's great being here. Great atmosphere and the guys are really giving their all. I am proud to be a supporter.
  4. I will be there - on my own but ever optimistic.
  5. I have a friend whose son has been involved with the Reach Program. Col has acted as a mentor on a number of occasions and I only heard good things about him. I think he is a good bloke too but obviously not firing on the field at the moment.
  6. Sorry - I have seen finals wins but not the big one.
  7. I'm in - always have been, always will. My support will never waiver, no matter what.
  8. Poor guy. I had my head in my hands last night. Even my dogs looked depressed and like me have been moping around today. I had barely got around the loss to PA and now this. Oh well, give me a few days and the pain will begin to wear off. I'm in there for the long haul.
  9. My husband and friends think I am the most loyal, optimistic Demons fan they have ever met. Been a supporter for over 40 years - unfortunately have not seen a finals win in my life time. I never bag our club and always know I will be back next week supporting. Last night was the first match I have missed in years - I had surgery on Wednesday and was seriously contemplating against medical advice to go along. Instead I watched the game at home. Whilst I feel pretty miserable this morning, the MFC is still my club and I will continue to support them. Yes changes need to be made and these changes have to happen. Through 40 years plus, there have been good times and bad times. We always manage to pick ourselves up and get on with it. My love for the Dees will never waver. I understand many of you are frustrated but hang in there - I am planning to.
  10. RR - I heard something similar on Thursday night from a friend attending a meeting launching another league. He told me than within the next four weeks, the AFL will step in and there will be many, many changes. I had my doubts on Thursday but its seeming a possibility after yesterday.
  11. Sadly tomorrow morning I am going to wake up and realise that it wasn't a bad dream.
  12. I'm still watching too. On pain relief after surgery on Wednesday. Analgesia helps.
  13. All of my family as far back as I can remember were Melbourne supporters. My great uncle Charlie Barnes played with the Dees for a couple of years in the late 1920's. I cannot imagine barracking for anyone else. Unfortunately the Demons gene has slowly filtered down to my mum and I being the only Demons fans left in our family.
  14. I agree with what you have said - I feel the same way. I feel so sad seeing the team that I have loved all my life reduced to this. To rub salt in the wound my Collingwood supporting husband waltzed home last night at 3/4 time to watch the final quarter on Foxtel. He is so used to winning that he didn't feel the need to hang around to the final siren. I tried to explain to him how lucky he is and how I would kill to be supporting a team that wins all the time. If anyone from the club is reading this, there are supporters who are feeling so much pain, long for success and continue to buy a membership and attend the games week after week. Please show us some signs that this season isn't over....
  15. It will be a struggle. I dressed both my kids in Demon jumpers while they were still in hospital, took out memberships and took them to family days. At age 10, my daughter announced she was going to barrack for the Pies like her step father, my son barracks for North Melbourne after Wayne Carey visited his school. Hopefully by the time your little one is old enough to appreciate the footy, the tides will have turned and we will be a competitive team again. Good luck with it all.
  16. I also stayed till the end - I feel so sad to have witnessed it all. I have been a supporter all of my life, never seen a finals win but stuck there through thick and thin. I feel totally shattered. I thought Jack Viney was great and Matt Jones tried hard. I don't know how we are going to pick up the pieces and move on from this but I will be there next week ( with my arm in plaster) and be ever hopeful that the MFC can move on from a disastrous day.
  17. I just feel so disappointed.... I came here today with higher expectations.
  18. I am so excited that footy is back. It's been a long six months.....
  19. I tipped Melbourne and gave away my Bruce Springstein tickets to go to the footy.
  20. I am paid up as well. I love being part of the Demonland family.
  21. Collingwood - I am married to a one-eyed Collingwood supporter so we love the footy season. Closely followed by Hawthorn, Essendon then Carlton. I do not have any love for Richmond but don't mind North Melbourne.
