  1. That's so nice of you. I now park my car in East Melbourne at the hospital where I work. If I am on my own, I tag along with a group of fellow supporters usually comprising of a few large blokes just in case. I steer clear of Richmond station now.
  2. I used to like Col - that was when he was a Demon. Now I have a zero care factor.
  3. Yes it is sad because it's always been the easiest way for me to get to the footy. Nowdays I drive or catch a lift with someone else. It was on Queens Birthday - the last time we beat Collingwood. They were total morons and to be honest I am tall, fit and have practiced martial art and participated in numerous self defence courses. But who knows if they had a knife ... Complete cowards but it did frighten the hell out of me.You just cannot predict what is going through opposition supporters heads. I don't trust any of them.
  4. The Essendon supporters that I know can be downright scary at the best of times - as well as arrogant , delusional and smug. I really hope we smash them today - I won't be there as I am in beautiful Daylesford. Those going - be careful. I have been verbally and almost physically abused at Richmond station a few years ago by disgruntled, angry, possibly brain dead opposition supporters. I was standing on my own, minding my own business but my only sin(in their eyes) was my Melbourne scarf and the fact we had beaten them. I have never caught the train since to the footy. Go Dees
  5. I have a Hawthorn supporter friend who travelled to Adelaide a couple of weeks ago to watch the game. She stayed at the Sebel Playford Hotel which is only a 10 minute walk to the ground and the Hawthorn team was staying there so she was rapt. (she is not some young teenage groupie either!). She said it was a great place to stay. The AFL have some deal with this group of hotels for the interstate players.
  6. I know this sounds like a stupid question but as I was pondering over my votes last night, my husband asked me what does the Demonland Player of the Year actually win? I just assumed it was the title. Am I right?
  7. Ok whilst I didn't say it - I thought it which is just as bad. Cam Pederson - I'm sorry for thinking you were overweight, unfit and not disciplined enough. I think you are great now.
  8. Thanks Ox. I can actually be a bit scary when we lose. According to my family, I have been like this since I was a child. Therefore had heaps of practice as a Melbourne supporter. He wouldn't dare say the wrong thing to me tonight!!
  9. It was a long day. Things didn't go our way today. The umpiring was woeful and we were beaten by a better team. It sucks.
  10. 6. Nathan Jones 5.Lyndon Dunn 4. Bernie Vince 3 Daniel Cross 2. Cam Pederson 1.Jack Watts Sorry to Neville Jetta
  11. Doesn't matter how well I think I have planned it, I end up being surrounded by Pies supporters. It's so packed in the members there is no where to move to. Will just put on my headphones and tune out. Go Dees.
  12. Ha ha - they do. They both are not your typical Pie supporter. My husband has a Melbourne membership that I dutifully buy him each Christmas!
  13. Oh - he's not my son. No blood relative of mine would follow the Pies. He's my stepson so I am not responsible for his poor life choices!
  14. My husband is already making excuses - ha! This person's out, that person is out......... He is genuinely worried. He has however chosen to dump me for game and going with a fellow Collingwood supporter (his son).
  15. I am sure that I read somewhere that they were expecting a daughter.
  16. Great article. I have always liked Lyndon and obviously the responsibilities of parenthood and relationship woes have matured him into a top bloke. I admire couples who come to an agreement that their child together is their number one priority, despite the status of their relationship. Good on him for signing up - he is a true Demon and I look forward to watching him develop even further and get his wish to play finals. Like him better with out the mo as well!!
  17. I'm not going to get my hopes up. I would like him to stay but if he doesn't - life goes on. We will continue to improve with or without Chip.
  18. I admit I was put off a bit by CP by my son who follows North. Said he was lazy and undisciplined and that North were glad to get rid of him. I thought CP had a pretty average year last season but has been sensational so far this year.
  19. I think he always handles the media in such a poised, professional way. So glad he plays for the Dees. Having watched him as a junior in the Bayside area, I always thought he was destined for the big time.
