I'm liking having Gartlett on our forward line. -

Jack Watts!! -
My friends son was involved in the Reach Program and Col Garland was a mentor. This young guy said Col was a top bloke, related really well to the trouble young teens and went way and beyond the call of duty. I think he is generally shy but has been very pleasant the few times I have spoken to him.

I went with my daughter and had a great time. Really enjoyed chatting with Jack Watts - he is so lovely. Also met Sam Frost - he is a lovely humble guy as well. Had lots of photos with many of the guys and they were all so obliging. The best thing for me was that my daughter, who for the past 10 or so years claimed to be a Collingwood supporter has finally seen the light and took out a Melbourne membership today. She has finally seen the light and I have welcomed her back to the fold!

Mitch Clark's 6 goals - how ... 'depressing'.

I believe he will still be hampered with foot injuries. His sort of injury will continue to flare up and give him grief. I had a not too similar foot injury and surgery about 4-5 years ago. I did all of the appropriate rehab, gave up running, netball, tennis and high heels! My surgeon told me that foot injuries continue to be problematic and I can vouch for that. This surgeon looks after a lot of AFL players and is very well known. I doubt MC will last the distance when serious footy begins. -

Cmon Dees. I'm watching this game with two Collingwood supporters who won't shut up. Like the look of Newton too. -
I have been taking my own food to the footy for years. As a vegetarian, I do not have much choice but don't eat junk food anyway. The only exception for me is a hot jam donut.

I 100% agree with you. I have had a talk to my family and two kids and made my wishes known. All the best to you and your daughter. She must be a fighter.

Oh no - I just heard the news. My heart is breaking. -
I really dislike the man- bun! Not a good look.

I was also wondering about Col. I kept sifting through the training reports and he rarely gets mentioned. I'm a big fan and hope he can return to his 2013 form.

FWIW - my husband and daughter(Collingwood supporters) are furious that they lost Lumumba. Its a big win for us. Having suffered through many Melbourne/ Collingwood clashes, it always made me nervous when he got his hands on the ball. I think he will be a good leader and I'm happy he is in the LG.

Just saw Birdman on the weekend. Great cast - Michael Keaton, Edward Norton, Naomi Watts. Fantastic acting, a little off beat but I thought it was amazing.

Agree but Bernie is a hoot.

I loved that - thanks for reminding me what a great win that was!!

So sad - a great artist. We have lost a group of amazing people in 2014.

Jack Trengove looks like he needs a hug.

I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for a safe and happy New Year. I cannot wait for the footy season to begin and have a great feeling about 2015. Thanks to everyone for keeping me in the loop with training reports, rumours, gossip etc.

I saw Fury on the weekend. Set towards the end of WW2 about a group led by Brad Pitt who operated a tank. All different personalities - worked great as a team. Quite heavy stuff - but I enjoyed it

Just watched Michael Clarke's press conference. I have always respected him but that respect level has just soared. What an amazing captain. He has probably just been through the most traumatic few days of his life and is obviously so shattered. He has spoken so well all week but the tears were falling today. He has really held that team together. This sort of tragedy shows what an amazing captain he really is.
