That is just so sad for the little guy. I used to take my kids to the footy at that age decked out in their Melbourne gear - and we were winning more games then. But poor performance and peer pressure won in the end. They both now follow other teams. I am the last family member standing who is a Dees supporter. It's sad as when I was six, my entire family were Dee supporters. We are a dying breed.

I think I need to go back to Italy and light a few more candles .... Maybe pray for a priority pick this time.

Just come out of the movies and we were 53 points down in the second quarter when I had a sneaky look. At least we haven't capitulated....

Well I personally would never boo my team. When I think of supporters booing their team I immediately think of Richmond supporters and do not want to be tarnished with their brush. I was disappointed, sad, despondent - yes but I will still never boo my team. I heard from someone who works at the club that there was a player sponsor function on after the game and not many people turned up - that's is sad. The players know how the supporters feel.

I loved the Rev. Bawled like a baby the last game he coached us against Essendon. Rev - your era of coaching bought me hope and many thrills. I don't have much of that at present. Sending my prayers and best wishes to you and your family as you face this challenge ahead. Such a likable, friendly guy - this news breaks my heart.

I'm struggling but I want to do this now and just hope I am in a bad dream and about to wake up and today just did not happen. 6. N Jones 5. N Jetta 4. Dom Tyson 3.Max Gawn 2. J Viney 1. J Howe

Jack's not smiling this week - thank God.

Agree 100%.

I feel shattered. No other way to describe the feeling.

So, so sad. I cannot believe he is gone. One of my all time favourite stars. Loved the tribute on the Jimmy Fallon show last night. O Captain, my Captain - you will be missed. RIP

Drove down Punt Road about an hour and a half ago and thought I saw Riley at the training ground doing sprints with two other blokes and a Melbourne official. After basking in the sun for three weeks and feeling like a long distance supporter, I thought I should make the effort today.

I agree - that was a great response. I have hated Hawthorn intensely since Gary Buckenara kicked the goal after the siren in 1987. Every Hawthorn supporter I know is arrogant and condescending. Most of them have only been supporters for the past 20 years - not lifelong supporters like most Demon people I know. I also hope that if they make the finals they get trounced by another club. I will be supporting whoever is their opponent.

Thanks - I'm getting the picture. Definitely should have stayed for desert.

I'm overseas and it's late at night. I've rushed back from dinner to tune in. Can someone give me a short synopsis of the game to date. I gather from a quick look at some of the comments, I should have not skipped desert....

Happy to oblige. I will start a fire if that's what it takes!! I will be onto it first thing in the morning.

I need to go on holidays more often. Last year in Italy, I visited so many churches, lit candles and prayed Paul Roos would coach our club. ( and i am not even Catholic!) It was announced the following week! I am currently in Mexico - it's Monday morning and I just read the Age online - about to cartwheel with joy down the beach at this great news!! go Dees.
-
I take spin classes Bobby but would never cycle here in Melbourne. The roads are crazy where I live. Perth must be a more cycle friendly place than Melbourne despite all of our bike lanes!
-
Fantastic news - well done Jess. I aspired to complete a marathon but only ever finished a half. Had foot surgery three years ago and advised never to run again. Must be a Melbourne thing!

My one eyed Collingwood supporter husband agrees 100% with that comment.

Oh no..... Now I'm sad )-:

OMG - listening from USA. Go Dees!!!

Top bloke on and off the field. Good news at the end of an average day.

Very happy to read this news. I like the kid - he gives 100% and will only continue to improve under Paul Roos. He makes a few errors but who doesn't? Its been the hardest job to be a defender at the MFC over the past few seasons. Now I have heard this, I am not fussed either way about Frawley.
