Devastating news. So sad for everyone involved. A talented young man with the world at his feet. Life should definitely not be taken for granted. RIP Phil.

Last week there was a seminar in Melbourne called Low Carb Down Under and our own Tom McDonald was interviewed. He has been eating this way for some time and his incentive to decrease CHO was for his digestive system. He is not trying to lose weight in fact he stated that he has always been underweight. He has decreased his gluten and grain but still manages to maintain 100-200gm CHO per day by adding sweet potato and bananas to his diet. His normal breakfast is bacon, eggs and sausages with added sweet potato. Before a game he will eat spaghetti bolognaise, cheese, veges and sweet potato. He has decreased wheat, gluten and processed CHO but does not follow extremely low CHO patterns. Interesting stuff. -
Sam Frost sounds like a beast of a man...

What a fabulous photo. So many great memories.

Well I will pay up again. My husband gets his membership for Christmas and the two pooches get their pet membership. I will never lose hope.

Indeed they are. Had a similar injury and surgery four years ago. Tried to go back to long distance running but it was really wistful thinking. Tried to change my running style and wrecked both knees in the process. I feel so sorry for Jack. His foot will never be the same. -
I loved Gone Girl. I read the book earlier this year but still really enjoyed the movie. The cast were perfect - exactly how I pictured them while reading the novel. Not sure who's side I was on in the end....

I got Mitch Clark as well....

RIP Robbie Flower - Sad Passing of a True Champion
jane02 replied to KLV's topic in Melbourne Demons
On the MFC web page (Dee TV) there are tributes from Steven Smith, Todd Viney, David Neitz and Russell Robertson. I have a huge lump in my throat after watching these interviews. The flags are also flying half mast over the Members Stand at the MCG. -

Jazza - is that the movie with James Franco about the end of the world and they are all at a party? I thinks it's called This is the End. If it's the same movie - I totally agree with you . What three movies were ahead of that one?

Went to see The Equaliser last night with Denzel Washington. Apparently it was a series in the 1980's - I don't remember that. Basically he is a retired FBI agent trying to live the quiet life and takes on the Russian mafia. I didn't mind it - it was very, very violent. I liked the story line and I thought Denzel Washington played the part well. Off to see Gone Girl this week. I loved the book, couldn't put it down so I am really looking forward to the movie.

I have a zero care factor. I dislike Hawthorn with a passion. I am doing some paperwork rather than watch Hawthorn.

Sorry to offend you but I am a registered nurse of 30 years. I work with depressed patients and support them 100% but they can be manipulative and some know how to work the system. So don't be so rude.

I am sick of hearing about the doctors orders. What a load of rubbish. Are we talking about a local GP, a family friend who is a dr or MC treating doctor?? I am in the medical field and "doctors orders" is a very misused term. Most treating doctors will say whatever their patient wants them to say ( within reason of course).

I think if PA have a 2-3 goal lead at 3/4 time, they will be able to outrun Hawthorn. I also would love to see those arrogant Hawks knocked out.
-
PA give me hope. A few years ago they were a basket case...

Jim Stynes joins bronze heroes at MCG Avenue of Legends

I have a photo of myself and Jimmy at a Reach function some years ago that I cherish. I am going to go to the G on Sunday and have another photo taken with the great man. A true hero .... Missed so much.
