  1. Hey Sue. I have a reserved seat in MM, which is right at the back in bay M 53 and very much undercover. I can guarantee you that unless it’s Anzac or Queens Birthday you’ll be able to move back further undercover if you get wet (which I don’t think you will anyways) There was 3 empty rows in front of us on Saturday night.
  2. We haven’t had a history of standing up for ourselves, and it made no difference in September 2021. Didn’t seem too trampled on then. Let it go. For all we know Koz made the decision and the club supported him. We have much bigger fish to fry in 2023.
  3. Just on this I watched the handshakes at the end of the game and there wasn’t a lot of love between Hunter and his former teammates. Was very interesting.
  4. And did you hear Paxy call out the Demon Army on Saturday night for not having a giant face of her? Paging @WalkingCivilWar
  5. If you’re already a club member Layzie, and purely an AFL fan, then it’s more cost effective to go month to month on Kayo. Sign up now, pay for April - August, and then cancel in September as all finals are live on FTA. That’ll cost you about $150 to watch literally every game in the season. Then spend the money you saved buying a Flanket…
  6. Great to see Dom Tyson. He gave his heart to the club during a pretty bleak period, and then was forced out by the calibre of players who’d see us forward. He always gave everything and I’m glad the club invited him to be involved.
  7. I’ll give you a real world example… One driver doesn’t indicate when turning and hits another driver, causing a concussion. Another person is caught driving at 140 in a 60 zone with a blood alcohol level of 1.2. One crime is punished for what it did, and another for what it could do. Different crimes, different punishments.
  8. I get that people are disappointed about the suspension, but I don’t think anyone wants someone jumping into Gawn, Oliver or Tracc like that. The ball is gone, and Koz chooses to bump. He leaves the ground and turns his body in a deliberate act to use his upper back like a missile. He’s an amazing player, but he really did the wrong thing. In the context of our season I’m just glad he didn’t knock Smith out - as he could have got 4-6 weeks. We are lucky that didn’t happen, because Koz had no control over his body once it left the ground with that much force. That’s what the suspension is about. And it’s got nothing to do with Franklin. It’s like trying to compare jail terms for assault and theft. Different crimes, and circumstances.
  9. The problem for Dogga is that with us he could play on potential for another 2 years and do some nice things occasionally. Freo feel like they paid a lot for him now, so they want results now. I still think he’s gunna be a gun, but they won’t get consistent value until 2025.
  10. As they say about the court system - it’s not a court of justice, it’s a court of law.
  11. You’ve all got your red and blue glasses on here. You can’t leave the ground and choose to bump, let alone when the ball is out of the area. I love Koz, but that was a really dumb thing to do.
  12. 2 weeks seems about right. It was really obvious at the ground that it was a reckless action. You can’t use your body like a missile, especially after the ball has been cleared of the area. I actually felt like he knew it was bad, and he’d get weeks. He seemed to play like he who owed something to his teammates after that.
  13. How good is the footy! Went with the family. First game for my dad in 4 years. Boys played really well. I just loved it.
  14. Gees you’d be furious if you gave up so much draft capital for Tim Kelly. Struggle to be in the top 120 players in the comp.
  15. He’s an absolute gun. His field kicking is unbelievable. I legitimately expect him to be tagged every week now. You can’t allow a player to have 20 effective kicks across half back and through the middle, let alone one that has that much skill. He caught teams off guard with his age, but they’ll come with a plan for him now. If they don’t he’ll be the difference in games.
  16. One swallow doesn’t make a spring. Geelong are entitled to back in their system from ‘22 again this year because (like us before them) it won them the flag the year before. Collingwood’s game plan gives you 2 things: A lot of look’s because they have to go fast down the middle, which leaves them very open on rebound, and One tempo. Geelong tried to match them at their game. Slow the ball down. Keep it off them. Teams aren’t going to let Daicos run around the back all year. He’s the guy that sets them up. I expect he’ll be roughed up and sat on a lot more. Let’s see how other coaches test them. I doubt many will want a shoot out.
  17. Scott thought he could beat them in a shoot out. Next time they play you can bet they’ll play that horrible slow keeping’s off stuff instead.
  18. I’ve heard the flu has gone right through Geelong this week.
  19. How does Luke Hodge have a job? He literally describes what you’ve just seen. I know Luke. It’s called Television mate. I can see it.
  20. I know it’s entertaining to watch, but would it kill either of these teams to play defence or switch tempo? Allowing a team to kick almost 75 points to half time doesn’t seem sustainable.
  21. I forgot how watching the footy reminds me what absolute garbage free to air TV is in this country.
  22. Having these 2 games start the season has really cemented my opinion that I dislike every other team.
  23. The double choke!
  24. If May is out we’ll play Max behind the ball and Brodie in the ruck. Lot of talk about the tall dogs but 3 of them are JUH, Darcy and Lobb. I’ll back Max over them in the air any day.
  25. Agree Jimmy. I know we’ve been over this a lot last year but in general I found out crowd numbers super disappointing in 2022. There’s no excuse this year. Tickets are back to how people want them, and we’ve had 18 months to acclimatise to life with COVID. If people aren’t showing up now they just don’t want to go.
