  1. We’ve had a fairly good run with injury this year. The best we’ve had I a fair few years. Im not sure if I should feel good about this, or very annoyed about sitting firmly in the middle of the road given the circumstances.
  2. If only there was a way for us to avoid all of this. ?
  3. Weed and Jackson are the 2 key forwards for us in 2021. Pickett works on his composure, and Fritsch improves his kicking and that’s 35 more goals in 2021. I like Spargo if he puts his hand up and says he’s your bread and butter hard worker - and he proves it every week. Petracca moves through their too. We need outside midfield class to deliver the ball. That’s where our money needs to go.
  4. You have to wonder if we had snuck a bye in like everyone else over the last 8 weeks if we’d have got over the line in at least one of those other games. The energy level was considerably different tonight.
  5. Trent Rivers is putting his hand up to be a 200 game player. It’s great to see. Seems a ripper.
  6. I can’t stand channel 7. I hope someone else wins the next TV bid. The commentators are just embarrassing, and clearly haven’t watched much footy in 2020.
  7. Our contest work has been horrible in the last 10 minutes.
  8. Hardwick - Essendon and Port Simpson - North Beveridge - Melbourne and Saints Clarkson - Melbourne and North Longmire - North Not one of them the local boy made good.
  9. To be fair if I’ve had a few drinks I’d have some choice words for any young kids even contemplating being a Melbourne supporter.
  10. Agree. Their list and what they’ve achieved is literally one of the things that gives me solace when we are terrible. Its a tough game AFL. Talent and potential only gets you on the park. Hard work and consistency is the key.
  11. Got some stats that back that up the unreliability of the tests?
  12. Do you think the list manager at Richmond is calling Oscar’s manager for a highlight reel? You can’t trade what doesn’t have value.
  13. In answer to the OP’s question... I’m really looking forward to: To Hell and Back 2 : The Sequel
  14. Calm down on Pickett. In his first year Clarry was in and out of the side. It’s a long season for 19 year olds. He’ll get better.
  15. Someone with a no holds barred attitude, supported by an experienced elder statesmen with both people and fitness skills. Mark Neeld, and Neil Craig. Obviously.
  16. Wow. You folks need to pull your head in. He’s been injured most of the year and struggled for consistency. Max is not the problem. He has a genuine go.
  17. What did he say? Turned off to sink Negroni’s.
  18. Brown was saying Melbourne would love to have Jesse back, and Garry repeatedly said ‘on the field, on the field, on the field’. He also said it’s not a surprise that he doesn’t work and prepare to the AFL standard. It was as close to saying he’s a nightmare off the field as you can get.
  19. Garry Lyon on Jesse Hogan was VERY insightful.
  20. Live I saw Jimmy run over the mark right in front of me in the ‘87 prelim, Jakovich kick 11 against North in 91, The Ox’s comeback game after 3 knee reco’s, The wizard kick 9 goals in a half in 2000 and remember the run into the 2000 GF fondly. But that Hannan goal was everything. As supporters we had been through 15 years of garbage to get there, and then to do it the way we did with hard work and determination was amazing. I let out a roar that was only deafened by the other 70,000 Melbourne supporters letting out the same primal scream of joy. In my opinion what’s happened since has been heartbreaking for supporters. We aren’t playing anywhere near our potential.
  21. I’ve found Luke Hodge quite insightful in games he’s been at the ground for in Brisbane this year. Its funny because it highlights the massive gap between the modern game and the commentary. He’ll often explain that a team is pushing an extra player to the contest or restructuring, and why. The commentators can’t build from that though as they don’t understand it, so they just say ‘Great stuff from Hodgey’. It’s embarrassing.
  22. Thanks for the kind words all ? I don’t take the jokes as anything but making fun of the ridiculous world we’re currently living in (some of them were hilarious). Im just super annoyed that both the Queensland government and the AFL will excuse this all away - while paying lip service to the community. They should both fine Richmond $500k and donate the money to pay nursing staff in Victoria for the hell they’ve had to endure these last few months. As for my brother, he’s a Melbourne supporter, so he’s always joking that he already knows about pain and suffering ??‍♂️?
  23. My 70 year old mother had to get a special letter of exemption from the Queensland department of Health (which took her months) just to be able to visit my brother, who is dying of liver and bowel cancer in Brisbane. Then she had to do 2 weeks of quarantine by herself, where she got fresh air exactly twice in those 2 weeks (including doing a 9 day streak with no outside air at all). I’m not allowed to travel to Queensland and may never see my brother again. The Queensland government and the AFL needs to explain to me, my family, and the literally thousands of other people with heart breaking stories like mine why they are getting such a sweet deal - when they continue to prove they can’t even live by the most basic, community minded rules. It makes me sick.
  24. Wow. Honestly some of the comments in this thread say so much about the people making them, and nothing about a guy whose played almost 15 years at the highest level. He has come to the end but he shouldn’t, and won’t, be remembered for his last few games.
