We aren’t AFL standard with ball in hand, and you can carry a few of those types, but we have to carry 16 of them. WAY too much contested focus - and that’s Goodwins fault. The Port player said it during the game in an interview ‘we need to get the ball to the outside and beat them with skill’.

I felt like our game plan early last night was to go long and high forward to take advantage of Weed, TMac and Jackson. The guys tried to kick the leather off the ball, coughed it up and lost all confidence, and it was essentially game over. Previous two weeks both Weideman and Jackson moved up to the ball, we tried to put it in front of them, and even if we didn’t deliver it brought other players into the game.

I see Josh Mahoney in the coaches box and I wonder how he can keep his job. We are miles off being a professional team and he and Goodwin have had plenty of time to make us competitive. The list is not this bad. Something stinks.

I’ve watched footy consistently for 36 years (I’m 42) and I don’t understand holding the ball anymore. It feels like if the ball bobbles out your ok, and otherwise take a guess. Has nothing to do with skill either way.

Being outclassed here. To be fair if Brisbane don’t win the flag this year they never will. They are being handed it through time and circumstance. Half our side can’t go at this level though. We are a middling side.
