Based on today’s numbers the Vic Government needs to reinstate the ring of steel around metropolitan Melbourne… Meaning we have to play all our games in Melbourne for the rest of the year, and specifically can’t travel to Geelong. Its for the good of the nation.

If people can’t go if they’re not old enough to get vaccinated then watch me commit the most outrageous identity theft you’ve ever seen, and dress as 91 year old Eileen McInity to be able to see the Demons play in the grand final. Ain’t nothing going to stop me (I mean Eileen). ??

BT just said ‘Jack Hawkins has kicked 6 in his 300th’. ??♂️?

Dangerous tackle is this weeks rule of the week.

Oh well in that case, congrats to the AFL for creating the perception of a fair rule change, while still managing to screw over Melbourne in the process. ?

Exactly, why not phase it out over a 3 year period beginning from last year, and allow each club to select one player in that 3 year window under the old rules - and everyone else under the new rules? Cutting it off completely just means some clubs got a massive leg up, and others didn’t. A phased approach allows for consistency.

Agree 100%. There seems to be varying degrees of perspective applied. Last year my 50 year old brother died of cancer in Queensland, but I couldn’t visit him for almost 6 months because of state lockdowns. He was only diagnosed in June, the lockdowns began and Victorian’s became unwelcome everywhere. My dad and Sister got the same treatment. We all were finally allowed into the state 2 days before he died, but never saw him conscious. I love footy, but the players have a choice to go home and see their families whenever they like - yes it would cost them playing football games and income, but they make that choice of their own free will. I wish I had been extended the same courtesy. If my name was Minogue or Efron it might have been different - which is inexcusable.

So, logically, you’d have to think a hard 6 week lockdown for anyone who barracks for either of those 2 teams is the only solution. It’s for the good of the nation.

Out: Crowds? Wonder what the government will do given today’s numbers in Vic.

Fascinating. Thanks!

I have to ask…. Are the visitor numbers bigger after a win or a loss?

I like the gamesmanship of this. You obviously have to rate the draftees, but it automatically puts draft pressure on teams with father-son links to organise their points.

Have you seen the tackle video of him from the weekend on Fogarty? I’d be tanking too..

Nice work on the icons?

You wish. 0.3 = 1 out on the full, and 1 failed to make the distance.

Maybe they are one of those amazing people, like those in NSW, who were in ‘partial isolation’. You know, they were at home, unless they went out. Obviously. ?♂️

He’s no good when the balls on the ground, and can’t apply any pressure. I think we will see him go in the off-season. I wish him well, but we’ve put in the effort and it just hasn’t come together for the young fella. I’d say if we can get a 2nd rounder we’ve done well.

I think the King brothers will be great, but they run very hot and cold currently (or more specifically they run cold 2/3rds of the time, and then look great for a game). McKay could be anything in a good side, but he plays for Carlton so it’s hard to evaluate. If we could take any key forward in the league I’d take Naughton. He hits packs in a way that just isn’t something you can teach in a young player (hard as we’ve tried the last 10 years).

Agree. Imagine if we played an entire grand final that ended in a draw - and then 5 players each took shots from the 50. It’s like a different sport a penalty shoot out. It becomes darts and not a physical contest.

Which MFC player have you met personally?

A few years back (must have been around 2013-14) I used to go to a cafe in East Melbourne and Dean Kent and his Girlfriend would often go there and eat. Really nice people. I often overheard them whispering about which one of them would have to order - as they were just 18 at the time, quite shy, and socially nervous. It made me feel really old. My days of being anxious to chat to a waitress are sadly over. I’ve had enough Kale smoothies to know I don’t need to ask what’s in it, or ever have another one.
