I like the gamesmanship of this. You obviously have to rate the draftees, but it automatically puts draft pressure on teams with father-son links to organise their points.

Have you seen the tackle video of him from the weekend on Fogarty? I’d be tanking too..

COVID & AFL 2021
Maybe they are one of those amazing people, like those in NSW, who were in ‘partial isolation’. You know, they were at home, unless they went out. Obviously. ?♂️

Farewell Sam Weideman
He’s no good when the balls on the ground, and can’t apply any pressure. I think we will see him go in the off-season. I wish him well, but we’ve put in the effort and it just hasn’t come together for the young fella. I’d say if we can get a 2nd rounder we’ve done well.

I think the King brothers will be great, but they run very hot and cold currently (or more specifically they run cold 2/3rds of the time, and then look great for a game). McKay could be anything in a good side, but he plays for Carlton so it’s hard to evaluate. If we could take any key forward in the league I’d take Naughton. He hits packs in a way that just isn’t something you can teach in a young player (hard as we’ve tried the last 10 years).

Agree. Imagine if we played an entire grand final that ended in a draw - and then 5 players each took shots from the 50. It’s like a different sport a penalty shoot out. It becomes darts and not a physical contest.- Which MFC player have you met personally?
A few years back (must have been around 2013-14) I used to go to a cafe in East Melbourne and Dean Kent and his Girlfriend would often go there and eat. Really nice people. I often overheard them whispering about which one of them would have to order - as they were just 18 at the time, quite shy, and socially nervous. It made me feel really old. My days of being anxious to chat to a waitress are sadly over. I’ve had enough Kale smoothies to know I don’t need to ask what’s in it, or ever have another one.- Coach with Aging Team Wants Shorter Quarters
The title of this thread is Murdoch click bait gold. I knew exactly what the story was about, who it was referring to, and how mad it would make me - before I even read the story. Congrats to all involved.- CASEY: Rd 13 vs Werribee
Watching the reply now on Kayo. I like the look of Bowey.- NON MFC: Rd 17 2021
Yep, this season is a really good example of how important consistent intensity is.- Farewell Sam Weideman

‘Floats around the field like a fern frond’ is mind-blowingly good.- Football commentary does my head in
My least favourite thing about Derm (and it’s a long list) is that he talks all over the female hosts on Fox. He does it so consistently it’s embarrassing. You can tell they hate working with him.- POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
I really like Spargo as he plays to his limitations, and every player in front of him knows it. He’s the most consistent ball user we have (in that he’s almost exclusively going to kick it 15-30 metres), and I think the forwards love it because they lead to him. They go hard and early and he honours the lead every time. I think he’s been fantastic this year.- POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
It was great wasn’t it? He spoke with real care about him and I think it showed terrific leadership. I actually thought when Gawn took a clutch mark early in the last and kicked it perfectly to TMac, who also took a great mark, that we have some real on field leaders this year. They do the hard things when it matters.- Local media pundits not taking MFC as a serious threat.
Welcome Bags. I think this is my big takeaway from being a part of this forum, particularly this year. So many seem desperate for us to fall in a massive hole - so they can say ‘I knew it’, closely followed by ‘of course this would happen to me’. There’s a really strange psychology to some of this thinking and it’s a fascinating insight into how some people approach life. It’s not inherently wrong, just different - but is must be emotionally draining. Thankfully the players are fiercely competitive, and don’t read forums.- POSTGAME: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
We were fantastic. The intensity, the skill, the teamwork. Proud night for the footy club. But… i’m still in a bit of shock from that last quarter. Port literally tried nothing to win the game in the last. They didn’t take the game on at all, and they refused to go down the middle. It was bizarre. Why lose by 6 goals? Take it on. Strange.- GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide

Oh I still remember that. That was a dark day in Australian Rules.- GAMEDAY: Rd 17 vs Port Adelaide
I’m really proud of the intensity the boys showed in that half. They need to keep it up, but it’s the kind of intensity that really builds confidence. - It’s coming home ...
