If Ben Brown doesnt play the rest of the year
The heart beats true replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
To be honest Tom Mac, Harmes and Fritsch all had essentially the same shot in the 3rd quarter from a slight angle 45 out. The stats tell us they’d kick 2 out of 3 across the year. They kick those and it’s game over at 3/4 time. I’m not sure Brown is the answer. I think teamwork, cleaner ball use and better kicking for goal is the answer. -

Nailed it. -
I think that was a very determined win by our boys. Essendon are a side that’s playing with a lot of confidence, and I feel like we are a bit down on it. To do the hard things well and get the win was very important, and shows a good deal of maturity. Our kicking for goal is infuriating, but it’s not a pattern yet so let’s not over think it. I really enjoy knowing that Spargo, Brayshaw, Langdon and Jordan are going to put their body on the line when it matters. It’s not about being a superstar, it’s about maintaining intensity and going when it’s your turn. I feel like that’s the most pleasing thing about our season to date. The setting of standards.

How frustrating was watching all those points being kicked? -

I think folks struggle when he tries to draw 2 tacklers and free up a teammate with a hand pass. His handball to Harmes got us a goal out of it, but when he doesn’t nail it everyone’s on his case. -

I can only assume that Oliver is trying to draw heat to free up his fellow midfielders. When it comes off it looks great, but when it doesn’t it’s infuriating. -

May has been sensational. Jackson just needs to take his time and relax. His first shot that hit the post was a great kick. He needs to reward the hard defensive work and take his :30 seconds and trust himself. I feel like we are low on confidence. Get a bit more reward for effort forward of the ball and we will look a lot better. -

Why does anybody care how many lead change there has been? Commentary nonsense. -

Glad the break came when it did then. We need to reset with an understanding of how they are trying to play us. Got to work out our plan forward of the ball. Leading forwards and one deep is the go. -
Welcome back ET. Place wasn’t the same without you. ?

Eric Hipwood has the high cheek bones of a young Michelle Pfeiffer.
-
Cameron fitting in at Geelong well. Late dog acts off the ball.
-
Seems like the club is aware it’s a night game in Melbourne in late June. ?
-
I know we complain about commentary around here a lot, but we are right.
-
But Wayne Carey really likes him! Says he’s the best captain in the game. To be fair, judging by the way he feels about himself, Wayne’s not a very good judge of character.
-
The name the Tasmanian Suns would be so ironic it could only happen in Tasmania. I like it.
-
I see Selwood is going to be charged for whacking Bailey Dale in the head in the first quarter last night. At least the second time this year the bogans in the seven commentary box have been sniggering about ‘ear massages’, only to watch a player get reported.
-
I agree. I feel like Richmond do the work. Geelong is harder to like as Selwood and Hawkins walked into an incredible side early on, and Cameron, Rohan, Dangerfield, Smith and Higgins all went chasing success. It’s their right, but for those of us emotionally wedded to the loyalty of one side it feels a bit dirty. Its why I don’t like Lynch at Richmond either.

To be fair to everyone involved, especially Daisy, that’s not saying a lot ?
-
Oh, I wasn’t saying that. I was just amazed from the throw in from defence to the transition through the ground, to a mark that’s then kicked after the siren. It was just eerily similar.
-
The reports are very accurate. Caused an awful lot of trouble within the club last year.
-
EXACTLY like our loss down there a couple years ago. EXACTLY.
-
Trick question. Oliver obviously, as the other 2 blokes could only kick goals that beat us. ?
