See this is where I have a problem with the ‘best’. Rowell was listed as one of their bests too (along with Swallow). They got pantsed by almost 100 points - of which all the drive came from our midfield. Its just done on stats. Their mids were dreadful.

Interesting to hear Brown say how he’d put in a really hard 12 week block of work. He worked very hard today off the ball. The example they showed at half time was fantastic. The Demonland myth about a mini preseason has proven to be true.

I’m convinced that most ‘best’ lists are just made by looking at the stats. Sometimes I wonder if people are even watching the same game. How can Rowell and Swallow be in the best when their direct opponents are the reason we won by 15 goals? It’s strange.

I liked the look of Bowey. I think he’s another ripper. We still need more skilful distributors, so very happy he could get some AFL experience this year. Great that BBB and Jacko got amongst the goals and got their tales up. Viney and Harmes both struggling with the pace of the game, and then being able to bring enough skill when required. Still love us to have better midfield balance, and think that longer term one of those guys needs to be replaced by an outside runner with foot skills.

I’d have JJ in. We need to build his ball use and decision making long term. Could be the missing piece.

I’d like to see Koz get around it more. He just needs to get that spring back in his step. When he’s feeling dangerous opposition clubs get so nervous, and it’s great to watch.
