It’s difficult to know what to make of the last few months in terms of our fitness yet I reckon. I really felt against the Dogs, Pies and even Carlton (bar the miracles of Melksham and Koz) that we looked out on our feet after half time. I could see the players really trying, but just not having that burst. Even on Friday night it’s hard to know what to make of the last half, as the game was over, and then the weird emotional vacuum of the Petty incident. I’m very hopeful we will see the benefits and effort of Selwyn in the next month, but I do think the club would have been sweating on him after the Pies game in particular. It’s a fine balance, and I’d imagine a really difficult job.
