Yeah, I agree. On paper it’s not the logical need, but I suspect there’s a bit more going on than we know. Brown might be able to go around again next year, and then we are REALLY light on for height. It might be more about need than we currently know.
-
It’s not. We don’t play games. We will take him if the money makes sense.

I think they’ve handled him dreadfully. Why put this in the public domain? That club stinks. They haven’t known when to put their arm around their players and when to expect more. He’s a first year player in the system. He’s clearly fed up with getting no support and learning very little.

Yze deserves his shot, and it might be nice to have some fresh blood in the coaching department. Our boys are maturing as a group and new energy might be helpful. I don’t think it’s all doom and gloom. It’s actually helping solidify to the players that we are doing a lot right.

St Kilda fans have shown up in the 10’s of hundreds tonight. If we relegated teams they’d go down and never make it back again.

TRAINING: Friday 12th August 2022

I feel like you’ve got about 3 posts in any thread before it’s the same people arguing with each other about the same things. -
I don’t think he plays the role we need. He seems more the 3rd tall type.

Patrick Cripps FREE to play
The heart beats true replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
I’m going to boo him Saturday night. I’m not proud of it, but it’s happening. Im not even booing him, I’m booing a system where the rules don’t apply to some. If Paddy Dow had done that he’d have gotten 4 weeks. -

I just want a win. The rest is fugazi. -
Patrick Cripps FREE to play
The heart beats true replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wonder how Ah Chee feels sitting out this week because of an arbitrary decision that doesn’t take into consideration anything about his specific incident, while watching Cripps get a week to explain himself resulting in his ability to play. This absolutely stinks. I hope a player with a financial interest in playing takes the AFL to court on their concussion protocols, and uses this case as precedent. They protect their money and interests but don’t care about players. -

Is this like a filibuster? Are they intending to just talk until Saturday so he can play? -

Who's helping to fix our goal kicking woes?

Cool under pressure. To be fair I imagine all you were thinking was ‘hands to yourself, hands to yourself’. 🤣 -
Who's helping to fix our goal kicking woes?
The heart beats true replied to cantstandyasam's topic in Melbourne Demons
In fairness to that woman - James Harmes as the sub was doing her no favours. He was very oiled up on the bench all game and I imagine she was distracted. -
I like the idea, mostly because it seems to be the opposite of the consensus around here. Get in Grundy! If nothing else the game day thread will be filled with fury, finger pointing and rant. So probably not that different.

Who's helping to fix our goal kicking woes?
The heart beats true replied to cantstandyasam's topic in Melbourne Demons
Our cheer squad couldn’t hold a bullseye to save themselves. They’ve cost us at least 5 losses this year. Another pathetic effort on the weekend. Makes me so mad I’m going to start a thread about it. -
I think he was in the first Millenia team of the century.
-
It’s obvious that the meeting took place. I think what needs to be taken into consideration here is that Brodie has a very healthy long term contract - so why would he go to a meeting for a new job? This isn’t about a manager trying to increase his value. He’s clearly been told to look around by Collingwood so they can free up money. I’d say it’s on. Brodie wouldn’t fit in at Geelong. He’s a city kid. I’ve seen him sitting at games with his top knot, round glasses and cardigan. All he needs is a cheeseboard.
-
My point was that both those games were out of the box games. Let’s see how they both go over the next 12-18 months. JUH has come back to earth. 3 points on the weekend, but couldn’t miss against us. Not saying he’s not going to be good, just saying he hadn’t shown anything like that before us, and might not for another 18 months. Johnson - let’s wait and see.
-
I’m not at all sold on Johnson. He had his Kent Kingsley against us, like Jamarra a couple of weeks earlier. He’s their attempt at Fritta, and you have to be very talented to play that role in the modern game as you get very few attempts to get it right.
-
I don’t know why anyone cares what Collingwood is paying him? We only pay what we think he is worth, and they take it or leave it. Simples.

A Day In The Life Of A Demonland Thread
The heart beats true replied to Demonstone's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah Jimmy, you was robbed, as was @layzie I subscribe to Lazyie’s theory that their posts feature a diversity of opinions, but you my friend are always wonderfully on brand with your ruthless optimism. -
I love how it refers to us as flag contenders. I didn’t read the actual story. Just looked at the link, took the bit I liked, and moved on with my life. It’s my current approach to ‘journalism’. It’s actually very efficient, and it saves me giving click revenue to parasites.
