  1. thinking bout putting my life savings on west coast. might make 50 bucks.
  2. Well it really depends how badly we get belted in the next 2 weeks, compared to how bad saints get belted. whats the difference, 7.5% or something, cbf looking, but thats not impossible in 2 rounds, if they have marginal losses and we get pummelled. we dropped 3 percent today didn't we? Also, saints may not take patrecca, as they want a tall forward ala mccartin or wright. I kinda hope we don't take brayshaw, i feel like we have enough players of his ilk, the crash and bash in and under mid. We should put a trade to sydney to get heeney if we can't take patrecca. we should end up with picks 1 or 2, then frawley comp should be pick either pick 2, 3 or 19? (end of first round if the deal he gets isn't top rank?) We should also def apply for a priority pick for being rubbish, and if we get one its more likely to be an end of first round pick, so like pick 20. Its unlikely we will have a lower % than saints, so if we are lucky we might have 2, 3 (frawley, could also be pick 19) and maybe 20 (PP). Offer pick 2 for sydneys heeney and mitchell?
  3. thats bad. who the [censored] gave him that contract!
  4. jetta was good. jones tried hard. thats all
  5. Man he really does bring some skills to the table. I try to play it down, but I am excited. Id love to see him play.
  6. maybe he will play in the ones before the seasons up. toump is set to play in the vfl this week also. is good
  7. yep, watts's use of the ball and creativity is what he's about, he's obviously an outside player. We don't see vince landing 8 tackles a game, not on a regular basis at least, and its not expected because he's fantastic at working at the back of the pack and setting up the play, as well as providing a cannon leg and quite an accurst kick.
  8. We see that every week. We get it in to the fwd line a reasonable amount, and we just lack that polish and confidence to take the shot, everyones looking for the hand pass.
  9. yeh your right. I wouldn't mind giving sam day a look in, he's 196, but his reach is massive. can play forward or back.
  10. they've put 1-3 weeks on hoges. My thinking is that he might be ready for vfl next week if he's super keen. Other wise, the 3 weeks option is a bit of a cover from scrutiny if he decides he would rather wait til next season n get a full pre season. My feeling is that if he was gonna play any week in the afl it would have been GWS, but its probably too soon considering he hasn't played VFL. Also if he comes in this year, its obvious he will be a major target, he will get a lot of attention. However if we are successful in luring a cameron during trade for instance, then he can debut next season and get the 3rd or 4th defender rather than the 1st or second. I think the coaches would be aware of the hype and pressure that could end up on his shoulders, which we don't want. however if someone such as cameron came in, he would take a good portion of that pressure, as would dawes.
  11. Of course, he's great one on one, but we really need his disposal out of the back line is what Im getting at. He's competitive with the bigger forwards, but I think he plays a lot better when they aren't his main opponent. Tom mac has generally been taking the bigger guys, but I don't think he quite has enough bulk to him yet. To be completely honest, outs back line requires the least attention. they're pretty reasonable. Next season, fingers crossed everyones fit with a preseason under their belt, on paper it looks solid. Dunn, howe, jetta, garland, tom mac with guys like pederson going back. We lack depth, bun the primary list looks good.
  12. I think we will target a player like boyd, but for the forward line. I don't think there is too many giant defenders atm, most are just under 195 arnt they? Point being, Pederson would be more than competitive as a full back.
  13. that would also free up dune to be that floating third man up along with howe. Those two could also be the main two releasing the ball out of def 50 once someone takes that full back role. .
  14. Regarding your big back men, if we recruit some forwards, pederson will probably end up down back, he's quite good one on one, great overhead mark, can pinch hit and he's tough. Though he's only 193 i think. But the fact that he can be super competitive in the ruck is enough to suggest that with some fitness he has potential to be a great full back.
  15. I dont believe he has done a great deal until the weekend gone. He has a lot of mids to compete for position against. out of danger, sloane, the crouch brothers, jaesch will prob move to the midfield, kerridge, douglas, not sure how long van berlo or thompson have. I believe he plays an inside role, but we probably have enough guys that can do the inside work. i wonder if kerridge is tradable.
  16. I don't think its impossible. Hes not getting a game as a fwd due to the fwd stocks being quite strong, he's probably too valuable to be a depth player, they could get something decent for him and have a cheaper random as a depth player. Roos would have coached reid wouldn't he have? Reid is a victorian isn't he? If he comes to melbourne he can work with one of the most talked up young forwards in the game and potentialy build a formidable duo. We would pay him quite handsomely, gets to work with 'the messiah'. we would probably pay sydney overs. its really a win win for everyone involved.
  17. Say why dude, If we are to delist a whole bunch, and a coupe retired, we can't replace them with just petrecca.
  18. jarred lyons from adelaide might still be available? We almost got the deal done last year. He played a ripper on the weekend from memory
  19. Gotta be realistic with Barry, for a third gamer he did well. Michie is a unit. great pick up.
  20. Felt for the guy when neeld came in. Served the club well. Good job beamer.
  21. id jump at deledio, most richmond supporters don't realise how good he is. but unlikely.
  22. Wattsy hasn't been disgusting like some make out. He hasn't perfrmed at the level that we would like considering he was a number 1 draft pick, but i think its time to let that go. Think of him as a player that we picked up with some random pick in the draft, say pick 25. I don't think he has been off the pae for a late first round pick. Ill give him some slack here too, I went to watch several training sessions just before the season started, and watts was working really hard, but his engine isn't up to it yet. He gets run off his feet in the midfield, and I think thats where we see a lot of his stumbles n fumbles n whatever else. Fr the the pedantic folk out there, note that I didn't say all of his stuff ups. Im not calling for his head, because roos is the man to get him up and running. I think we will see watts get a solid pre season in and we will see what next season brings. People forget that he is a big guy, it can take 5 or so years to get going, he has taken a while.
  23. think about it before you make yourself look silly. teams like geelong and hawthorn are seasoned, they aim to peak now for the next 2 months or what ever it is. We on the other hand, havnt been playing with the intentions of being strong for a finals berth, we needed respect back asap, we were hammer and tongs from the start, and we saw that i think round 2 or 3. We also have a relatively young list with very limited depth for rotating young players in.
  24. I think we will bounce, hopefully give them a bit of a shock, realistically probably a loss in the 30 - 40 mark. if every one hits their straps we can take it to the line, however the end of the season is nearing and the boys might be running out of steam.
