  1. big blow. The 1 percenters he provides are massive for our boys, he's a great tagger and wins a lot of his own ball. I think his absence will be very noticable this weekend. Despite doggies outs, we will be pushed i think. I will tip us, but with little confidence. Also considering the venue and our lack of competitiveness at that venue. Although the boys are playing a very different brand and have a very different mindset. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Every week is a learning curve now and I'm enjoying watching it. Every week we see something new that the boys need to improve on. cya's at etihad.
  2. Garlo is safe. Still finding his feet after injury.
  3. toohey from geelong looks like a good young kid. could be enveloped into a ruck forward over the new couple of years. Might not be too far off playing, born in 94. certainly not a mid but a potential key forward to bolster stocks/future
  4. My best bud came over from new zealand about 12 years ago, and automatically chose essendon. 10 years ago I converted him, I told him no best friend of mine can barrack for essendon, so you will just have to become a melbourne supporter. I gave him an old jumper and a scarf of mine. I felt pretty bad the last few years lol on account f pour performances, but its all coming together now!
  5. i like spangher but i don't think he would offer us much, we need a younger prospect I think.
  6. He didnt set the world on fire. Id like to see a direct swap for a player similar to riley, bring in michie. He needs another crack soon.

    Replay

Ive had the day off, and been checking the smart replays page all day, aching to watch the game. Every other game from sunday has been up since 1 or 2 this arvo, however the dees game not so. getting a little impatient now
  9. stoked for him. he's worked out what sort of player he wants to be. there was a couple of great games last year before he got suspended, where he looked like had some genuine defensive game. good on you nev. looks like we could potentially have the best jetta
  10. I think they're both capable of playing full games and we've seen that, Its just about monitoring their game time due to being first year players. Roos would prefer to have them in for a couple of weeks and utilised as the sub every so often to avoid them burning out toward the end of the season. That way they hopefully don't burn out too bad, confidence stays high and therefore so cores their performance.
  11. the pressure and forcing rushed shots on goal definitely contributes to opposition high number of points.
  12. this isn't related, but doesmnt deserve a thread title. How long til smart replay has the melb game?
  13. I don't give them much sympathy. Maybe the players, but the club needs to cop a whack of some sort surely. look how long saad is out for after having 1 substance in a protein shake. I think we will win. We have the players for the match ups. Jetts on a shutdown role on howlett? We might struggle with the dimensions of daniher but i reckon dunne can handle joe, joe won't out muscle him like cloke did. Tommy mac to ryder, or hurley or carslile who ever is forward. Leaves gar;and to take his pick. Float howe across the back line picking off in front of the packs. pedersen and jamar will be completive in the ruck. Pederson will be a hard match up for their back line, does carlisle go to peterson or dawes? Peders is a very physical player with a good mark. Now that he found some form, he's a very handy player. Have peders and dawes crashing the packs at centre bounces and boundary line throw ins. frawley and kent up forward. Wata can come forward at times. Jordie in a tagging role on heppel or zaharakis, jones can take whichever is left over. Very winnable game.
  14. sensitive topic? lol Id have him if he was keen! but being WA i doubt he would come to us. who knows, roos and cash is a good lure.
  15. I guess a positive you can take out of it was that most of the game was played on our terms really. We forced the scrap congestion play taking collingwood out of their preferred game style. All though they still beat us, at least we made an impact on the game unlike previous years.
  16. Omg, your mad. Many reputable football critics suggest tom mcdonald to be a quality player, well on his way to all australian in the near future. who are you? I can't even tell if your serious.
  17. jetta might be better on elliot and garlo on fasolo. sizes match up a bit better too.
  18. he did look a bit jittery at the start of the recording, looking down at the ground, and his responses weren't great. bit shakey. he said he wants consistency, i feel like the boys have played 8 consistent games now. see what happens.
  19. I think we are getting ahead of ourselves. Its highly unlike;ey that he's been able to get himself right in such a short period of time, to be able to make a call as big as this. Id love him to come back, but it just doesn't seem possible at this point in time.
  20. Thats right. Love him to stay, because he's a great player and appears to be a good character. But if he leaves, its not going to be the end of the world. The club will still continue its improvement.
  21. i think he will re sign with us. Apparently the interested clubs are adelaide, carlton and hawthorn. If he wants a premiership, he won't go to carlton. Id be surprised if he wanted to move to SA. Hawthorn is running out of time for another premiership with a number of there best at 30. and we saw what they're like without those senior players atm. with our improvement and the fact that our coaching staff is A+, i don't see why we can't play finals next year.
  22. tbh im a bit over all the jumper stuff. seems to be brought up too often.
