  1. Moloney for Beams? That can't be right. Moloney was good while Jamar rammed it down his throat every bounce, but unfortunately moloney looks to be a one trick pony. Collingwood would be bonkers to run that trade. We should ask for Thomas and Beams for Moloney haha.
  2. This is not necessarily a rumour, but i was listening to SEN talk about melbourne using the money ball tactic come trade time. As I'm sure you all know, this involves assessing every player that is available in terms of biggest bang for buck. Names like Shannon Byrnes were thrown up. Age 28, two time premiership player. He now struggles for games because Geelong are giving the youth game time - he wouldn't demand top dollar (i doubt...) Perhaps he could be the type of experience we need to set an example and help the boys along for the next 2-3 years. I really do hope that Melbourne leaves no stone unturned in a search for some quality players.
  3. jones would totes get the deal done for caddy, but bugger that, keep jones!
  4. If he is only a good ruckmen and a poor forward, does that make him a great player? Cox can do both well, he is a great player. Mumford is a good ruckmen, i think we would be stretching to say he is amongst the leagues best.
  5. According to SEN this morning, the deal that dees threw at cloke was much more than 800k for five years. More along the lines of 7 mil over 7 years, which you would think might be enticing. Although i think it was greg denham suggested cloke wouldn't come to melbourne for 20 mil. I have a feeling most players might play anywhere for a seven mil seven year contract.
  6. Most of it seems reasonable. I like Bate. I think he gives it a good crack every time unlike Dunn and a few of the others. Petterd could be a great player but where are the efforts? Sylvia is showing that with some hard work, and cutting the bull [censored], he can do good things. My only big issue with the cutting fat list is big pencil. Jakey has had some serious injury issues and hasn't really been able to have a crack. He is a seriously big unit, and is developing a mature body now. Give him another year, as we saw last week, Martin cannot run the show himself when Russian is down. And the bean stalk is... well... still a bean stalk.(will be great in time). One more year for the pencil to show us what he has got to offer. BTW. I know this is a different thread entirely, but seeing as you mentioned Cloke, as much as i would like to see him in red n blue, not for seven mil which is too much for a player of his skills. He is a good player, but not a 7 mil 7 year deal player.
  7. White is a hack, there is a reason that an average ruckmen/forward in mumford plays before him.
  8. The rules of our game are getting beyond ridiculous. it is as though there are levels of an offence, and even these levels vary depending on who committed the offence. could argue swans trip didn't have as much intent as another trip, but its still a trip isn't it?
  9. greeny took some great marks, it would have been great to top them off with a goal. Blease is still working out when he can have a trot and when he needs to give it off. not sure what happened when he fumbled the bounce, could have been a good inside 50 bomb rather than the mess that came out of it. Frawls did a great shut down role. and yeh clark, couldn't be more impressed. hoping matthews and the like are feeling a little embarressed about their comments "clark is not a quality forward' bulk man crush!
  10. Im sorry Robbo, but Brock Mclean? The bloke is a spud. dropped the potential to be the melbourne captain to play in cartons vfl affiliate. no thank you Mags plays with heart and works hard. i think his disposal will get better with game time.
  11. Dam streight. I hate that Mcguire says what he wants whenever he wants. QB clash our GF, what a turkey! Don't get me wrong, every year its a good game n we get the cash from it, but i don't see why he thinks he can call the shots on who's home game it is. King dick, thinks he has the power to dismantle a club, take our sponsors and home games. I recall him saying on SEN that perhaps melb doesn't need these home games as melb obviously have a lot of cash now, so we would give the QB to you eddy? The club that stated they are a multi million dollar business? Hope the boys have fire burning in their bellies to flatten the pies. Cahn the deez!
  12. I understand your not the happiest dee supporter atm, but this comment is ridiculous. Half of these guys havnt had a real chance. Bail is a fantastic athlete, get some confidence around this mood field, it will com good. Barty has been good, i personally can't fault his efforts. Wattsy just played his best game yet, and was one of few who did well? drop him too you reckon? Tommy Mac is a gun, but no your right, we should give him away too huh. Davis has played the pre season, and what? one afl game? in which he wasn't bad. And Fitzy? man, at least he plays with heart and energy, give these kids a go. The issue lies with a lack of contributing seniors. Melb should never have made junior mac leave, we would have achieved more had he stayed.
  13. Sylvia is cooked, he hasn't come good, he will never come good. He was Danihers secret weapon, with all the skill, but no motivation and the wrong attitude. trade him to who ever will take him for a senior that wants to contribute or for a draft pick. i wouldn't be surprised if a few of our seniors nick off come free agency/contracts end
  14. Most match ups are standard, if no frawls, perhaps T mac could have a run on hawkins? we know Tmac can out run hawkins. the other match up id like to see would be mckenzie tag the crap out of selwood.
  15. In terms of a ruck, martin is everything watts could be - as a ruckmen. Martin has an engine, can jump and contests the ball, watts is no ruck. Previous posts are correct, he is more likely to hurt himself than learn anything. Watts will be a wicked player given time. Just needs confidence a ball, not the ruck.
  16. Out Moloney? on what grounds? at this stage the bloke is the most poised player in the team. In terms of changes for the cats game, the obvious Ins are Clarko and frawls if fit, And who ever said Dunne was ineffective on fisher obviously didn't watch the game. Watts did not do well on fisher in the first quarter, then Dunney came in and held fisher to a very limited performance. Which i think is a great effort by dunne, considering that fisher is arguably one of the best CHB in the game i would be reluctant to change much at all for the cats game. Leave tappy in, his physical game style will be appreciated when we play the mature geelong bodies. The only out might be J mac, with added confidence to back himself i believe he can play his role. Has anyone noticed that Matty Bate is in our top stat getters? He's doing very well for a bloke that was a trade prospect 6 months ago. And Morto, i wasn't sure i would ever suggest this, but it looks like he might be getting some physicality into his game. good on you morto. There was so much to like and look forward to with the weekends performance. If the same pressure is brought to geelong this weekend, the deez will bring a competitive game. Cahn Deez!
