  1. Apparently melb has offered sloane a deal with 6m. If true I'm guessing it's a 5-6 year deal. Some fb folk have reported that connections to sloane have suggested that the deal is a go. Rory is one of my favourite players in the league. Id be so stoked to get him. Absolute gun. Btw, no source, just reporting what I read.
  2. Yeh thats true, depends on any agreements or clauses. It may have been termed a 'retirement' with an option that leaves the door ajar to make a return for melbourne or something like that. Who knows. Prob only mitch, his management and the club. and none of those three want to stir up attention related to the possibility for a multitude of reasons,
  3. this thread is full of stalkers! lol, people know about wedding plans, girl friends and education courses gee wiz guys, starting to scare me… Someone else on FB mentioned that a retired player cannot play for another club until that original contract they retired from would have finished. Apparently that was brought in after the mal micheal move to essendon. So with that theory, if mitch were to play next year it would be with us. But at the end of next season he is free to make his come back with anyone.
  4. you think its great when theres no line when you decide that buying a 40 dollar dried out red rooster role would be a nice little treat for such a dour event.
  5. This year i got the "oh well roos looks like he might have them on the mend, theres light at the end of the tunnel champ". makes me angry
  6. you feel extremely guilty after converting your kiwi best bud to a melb supporter.
  7. This is correct. Since Misson arrived we have replaced 2 thirds of the list, roughly 1 3rd per preseason. So 1 third of the list from missons first year is now at that level - so I think that is guys like jones, dunn, jetta… anyway you get the point. Not many ofd our current playing klist were here when misson gave that prediction.
  8. Im not trying to argue but could you provide some links on those? Because i thought everyone was a against it lol.
  9. I don't think roos and pj or the AFL will let this happen. There are too many reputations at steak. Roos will be destroyed if he doesn't pull it off, as will the rest of the very experienced coaching staff. As will the AFL, as they are essentially in control of the club through PJ. Not happening.
  10. Btw I don't think theres anything wrong with quietly acknowledging a quality goal from the opposition. Certainly not when its the result of a horrible skill error then turnover on our behalf. Its somewhat childish to not even acknowledge a quality scoring shot, no matter who scored it. That doesn't mean i get up n wave my scarf n shout, but i will be respectful and might even mention to a fellow spectator that it was a good goal. Doesn't mean I support my team any less. I think the fact that we still turn up is evidence enough of our strength and tolerance. I personally have 3/4 of my extended family that have give up on melbourne and are supporting other teams. not me or my father.
  11. I cbf reading through all the posts, but at a guess, I would have thought the cheers from melbourne supporters after a west cot goal would have been a result of deep frustration displayed by sarcasm, treating the team like a joke. Hardly clapping opposition scoring.
  12. Of course supporters of other teams are gonna be [censored]. If it was their club getting the PP they would be over the moon, take it and run. Although the general consensus I get through friends who don't particularly dislike melb, is that there is reason, and on the basis of helping the new management get a grip of the situation and rectify the mistakes of the past, then yes they should get a pick. But to the general public - most are ignorant to the finer details and ins and outs of the club, they think 'why should they get another low pick, they've stuffed up so many' - without taking into account the change in management and the task they face.
  13. Yeh I've had that occur also. I think it happens when your writing a post, but someone enters a post while your still writing. Thats what i thought was happening anyway.
  14. He is in melbourne and training as some have said. He still loves the club, so I think if he plays at this level again, it will be for us. Unless he moves lol, if he moves to perth any time soon, he clearly won't be playing for us.
  15. I seriously think we should trade hard to bring in mature developed talent. trade the picks for player 22 -27 years of age. obviously keep some and use them, but we need to bring immediate talent in asap.
  16. Your not telling us anything new, we know. What do you expect to get for jones dude? We trade our closest thing to a star for what? two mediocre players? Nah, thats rubbish.
  17. hmm he prob wouldn't have a knee by now lol
  18. i want to deny it, but it is true. Why would they want to come now.
  19. sign up okeefe now. Who are we kidding, he would probably be our best player. Yes he's old, but what he will bring in leadership and experience will be massive. Get these boys some mentors. A stern grill won't do the job, they need to be shown how to do it and be able to replicate. Cross was a good start, add to it with R OKeefe. If we can get 2 top ten picks, Draft one and trade 1 in a bad to bring mid aged competent players, e.g. cameron. We could bring in Okeefe, Malceski, through free agency, though this would more than wipe the frawley comp pick. So we would be left with pick 2 from the draft, We could potentially trade pick 2 and our first second rounder for mitchel and Reid, would that get the job done? a lot of players from sydney :s. Or scrap the mitchel and reid deal, trade pick 2, second rounder and a player for cameron and sheil or trelor. That would yield us an old dog mid, a young gun mid, a massive forward duo (cameron and hogan) and an experienced smooth back men. That would go a long way to fixing our problems. We wouldn't have a problem, making room for them either. nut adding a player to that deal might be tricky, blease as steak knives/project player might do it. However we will need to bring in more players toy fill the gaps for the players that will be delisted. Maybe through the rookie draft.
  20. ermagerd praha, This club is like a tree on the cliff of an eroding bank, instead up burrowing your roots deeper or stabilising the ground with vegetation, you hack at the very roots that are striving to hold this tree up. (jones is the roots just in case you missed that) why on earth would we trade jones? What would you hope to get from that trade?
  21. I came to that conclusion through asking the question 'what other coach is on a deadline?', in particular one that they have set themselves.
  22. Roos's lack of commitment and dead line on his coaching role is very bothering.
