  1. Thats because no one supports the dees lol. def worth pick 3, he's the best full back in the game - rarely beaten. A player that can shut down any key forward is very handy, they don't grow on trees. And apart from that, he's one of our best players and we need pick 3 lol.
  2. why change the song? is it going to make you support ten any more? will the players be any better for it? of course not Its like changing the red to a blood red or the blue to a royal blue, who cares. Its red and blue and thats the song.
  3. I think cross's season faded due to a fractured leg? he came back from it quite strong. so i think we can dismiss that. B vince was among our best in nearly every game - he played an entire season - we may have paid more for him but worth every penny. If we didn't pick up salem who might we have picked? the only answer is another draftee who's potential is as questionable as salems. and yes we picked up riley who's potential is still very much untapped - after a preseason and some game time we can make further assessments of both he and michie. They are currently better than our previous depth players, and they didn't cost much.
  4. I thought there was some talk of not playing so much cricket at the G due to the numbers that actually attend the games. (even though it is the melbourne cricket ground) Even if they do a lot of turf regrowth in the winter during the week, the team doesn't spend every hour of the day on it anyway, they'd have a heap of sessions in pools, in the gym and out on running tracks There would be some days they won't need the turf at all during season and off season, probably an altitude camp at some stage (in the summer). basically i think they could juggle the turf growth and a team doing preseason.
  5. Fitzy has some great attributes and he seems to be able to put them in display at afl level but not consistently at vfl level which is odd. He is really quick for a big guy, reasonable mark (when his confidence is up, he's a very good aerial competitor), his kicking has gotten a lot better too, his check sides are great. Id be keen to hold in to him.
  6. i take pick 20 in a heart beat. reasonable assessment considering clarks ability is far greater than that of dawes.
  7. This is true, despite varcoe p[laying mod games in 2014, his stats other than disposal count were very average. His 2011 was great in comparison to 2014.
  8. Realistically we might get two or 3 years out of him. If we can get him for next to nothing, id go for it. He is a legit swing man, can take the monsters down back, or draw the defenders in the forward line. He and dawes in the forward line would create a fantastic opportunity for hogan. Hogan would effectively attract the third defender who will be undersized against hogan. - ideal first year. He could go down back to give tommy mac a chop out every now and then. If we pick up lumumba or malceski our back line will virtually be the same as 2014 but with a great running ball carrier. which is pretty reasonable. Of course it al depends on who else we are likely to pick up, I wouldn't be upset if we picked him up.
  9. i don't think we need to worry. We are cashed up, we have enough cash to avoid rodan/byrnes types. perhaps our first moneyball attempt played out as it did due to a lack of cash? This year we potentially have the best set of picks and probably the most space in our salary cap or close to it. I don't think we will be picking up players that are close to retiring unless they have a lot to offer in terms or training standards, morals and experience.
  10. I keep forgetting who's in charge now, i need to keep reminding myself not to get so concerned when dicey sounding rumours pop up, roos is the boss man, he can handle it.
  11. wow, he snuck under my radar this year. Im 12 months behind on him. good call well considering that, i would do the deal lol
  12. id rather target a younger pair or singe player from geelong. I like the prospect of the young forward in toohey, or kersten.
  13. no dont do that! wtf, varcoe has hardly been on the park for like 2 years now. the dudes got some great skills and a good player - when he plays.
  14. I get it man, my care factor for other peoples opinions on this thread have dropped pretty severely due to how much attention it gets. I guess I'm surprised you bothered to express your opinion on that particular sentence of WYL post. I do appreciate peoples inside info.
  15. definitely worth a look at least.
  16. cut the cr@p man, its been done 100 times in this thread - theres also far more confronting opinions around various social media sites. WYL has simply posted something he was told with some of his opinions - i.e. what a forum is for. To be honest I'm surprised you bothered with such a reply, have you read through this topic? it goes on for ever with pages and pages of peoples criticism.
  17. wowee, didn't see that coming. I had thought perhaps the depression was covering something, but not something like that! I guess it doesn't really matter who that other player is, although it does get you wondering. If that is indeed the case then of course he has to go.
  18. if its a true statement i wouldn't mind hearing/reading it, however i understand if you don't want to be the bearer of bad news lol
  19. I had read he had been shopping himself around, however i didn't realise it was separate of the club and not necessarily working with the club on the process. Can you give any more detail on exchanges between he and the club and who's not particularly happy? Im not trying to call your bluff or anything like that, I'm just curious, trying to decide what to think of mitch. Its such a radical change, he went from being one of our most loved players, then we all felt for him when he declared his depression and now everybody hates him and wishes the worst upon him. So like many i suppose I'm interested in real sources of information to form an appropriate informed opinion.
  20. I do think lumumba would be good for our club. I was opposed at first, but I've since thought about it a bit more. He's got great run and carry out of the back line, his disposal can be questionable, but he can run it out like no on on our team. We will get at least a few years out of him, if its a straight swap for clark then its a win. He's got some good experience, and he's shown he can be pretty handy.
