  1. Hypocrisy is part of the human condition, we're all hypocrites. So what's your point???
  2. I'm guessing it wasn't Goodwin so maybe we can narrow it down to 17...
  3. I like this combination...I think it worked well in the few games they played together last year. Not a big sample size admittedly but good non the less.
  4. You're playing around with definitions here 'Dee'... It's systematic, the system or whatever when you raise concerns and are discriminated against and/or not taken proper notice of by the powers that be. Issues have been raised on a number of occasions and nothing has been done to resolve them. That is systematic. Also, whilst they may not like to believe it...the actions of the powers that be have been racist. ...and continue to be...
  5. St Kilda had there's with Muir. Different approach to Ed. They didn't need a review. They came out and unreservedly apologised. I reckon that's a pretty good way of doing things.
  6. Spin city 'old Dee'... love to see the back of him.
  7. So right 'Gaga'... ...and heaven help he ever says "I/we got it wrong"...
  8. Yes Eddie it is a proud day that you didn't have the courage to present the report and sat on it for over a month. It had to be leaked. Wow, I can't believe he said this.
  9. So...tell me why I don't read this rag?
  10. I must admit I thought this report would be a whitewash... To their credit they didn't hold back. Not so much to the board's credit they sat on it...it took a leak for it to come out. It would be interesting to see a similar enquiry held into the AFL... I would expect findings like this, insert AFL for Collingwood There is a gap between what Collingwood Football Club says it stands for and what it does The club is more likely to react to media coverage about a racist incident than complaints made within the club Collingwood's response has often been perceived as one where claims of racism are dealt with in terms of damage control and protecting the brand
  11. Makes interesting reading...probably explains why McGuire is stepping down. This may come a bit quicker than they would like. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-02-01/collingwood-is-guilty-of-systemic-racism-review-finds/13055816
  12. Agreed...let him play first.
  13. He didn't get a lot of footy when played off half back but certainly got a bit as a mid. He knows where to run and is not afraid to lay a good tackle. He's a very good kick. He also came to us as the youngest player in his draft year, A December birthday just snuck him over the line. He has some really good attributes... enough to make it? Who knows...I wouldn't write him off just yet.
  14. No crocodile tears for GWS '58'...there's little doubt they screwed themselves as you say by overpaying. Maybe I didn't make that clear enough.
  15. Foot and minor procedure don't really go hand in hand (foot in foot). The procedure may be minor but the outcome rarely is. Let's hope for the 2 weeks but I don't like the sound of that given he's had previous foot issues.
  16. Looks like he will be pushing Tommo all the way to round one with a bit of luck 'Bob'...
  17. Have thought the same 'delusions'... The draft is a bit of a raffle but more so this draft because of the lack of exposed form. Of course the missing year may have been the year he jumped up the rankings and would have gone top 10. Bontempelli was ranked outside the top 10 as was Oliver and they both came home with a big run. ...maybe we got the steal of the draft. Some clubs will because of the circumstances. Here's hoping we're that club.
  18. He looks a good athlete as you say 'Damo' and like you I would be happy to see him also being a natural footballer...as we've seen with Frost & Smith athlete doesn't always equal natural footballer.
  19. In the end it turned into May...
  20. I think that's a key point 'Macca' and in the end probably why they haven't produced a flag. The care factor including their's was next to zero...they had and used the luxury of churning through money and players. They weren't really held to account, but the day of reckoning is fast approaching.
  21. Sorry '58er'...I don't understand what you are getting at here nor why my comment is ridiculous. Let me try and explain. I agree that it wasn't fair play, the whole thing smelt a bit rotten with Scully's dad working with GWS. Both clubs were screwed...at the time we lost a player we thought would be a generational player for us and they paid way overs for a player they thought the same. We actually ended up better off but that wasn't to be known at the time and I like most of us felt cheated by the AFL & the Scully's. GWS screwed themselves... As for Tom & his dad, they took what was on offer. Good luck to them. They didn't make the offer, GWS were stupid enough to play way overs for a good average AFL player who in the end was cut down by injury. Tom & his dad made the right decision by them. As for the AFL rule to tie players to 3 years, yeah I think it's a good idea but I made no comment on that.
  22. I think I've got the vinyl somewhere as well. ...but looking at prices strangely enough that was still around the regular price. Of course the prices could all be "tell 'em your dreaming" prices Killer album though.
  23. It was remiss of me not to post this. ...but one of the great acoustic guitar players and one of my guitar heroes Tony Rice passed away on Christmas day. Tony was at the forefront of new bluegrass for want of a better title. The first time I heard him was on a David Grisman album called "Hot Dawg"...just brilliant. I'm lucky to have a copy of the CD, lucky because I looked it up last week and found it going for around US$900+ on Amazon. Probably my all time favourite acoustic instrumental album, it has a cover of Django's "Minor Swing" with Stefan Grappelli guesting. Tony was a beautiful singer but suffered some muscle issue and lost that singing voice a number of years back, then to cap it off over the last 10 years he had issues with his elbow that virtually stopped him playing. He wouldn't perform if he couldn't play like Tony Rice. Play and sing it again Tony...
  24. That's pretty funny 'soup'... As 'Man' says...Read It Again. Not sitting on the fence here but your comprehension is sadly lacking.
  25. Not fair play but in the end both clubs got screwed...Tom & his dad set themselves up nicely through no fault of their own.
