		Proved them wrong

A lot of talk in the media (David King prime example) was about shutting down Lever & how by doing that the Dogs would well on the way to shutting down Melbourne. Lever was serviceable, they put a lot of work into him but others stepped up...Salem for one, Petty, Rivers, Bowey. It's been a balanced team defence all season, whole of ground...why would a so called expert come out with such dribble. The GF defence was a very even contribution (Salem the standout) with great assistance as usual from Brayshaw & Langdon. By the way, watching again it's interesting to see how a 30 game player in Petty sucked Libba in throughout the game. Petty is a very competitive and smart footballer with just the right amount of mongrel.

		Q & A with Max Gawn

In the Allan Jeans mould, give 'em nothing.

		Adam Cerra

I wonder if he will be better than Rivers or Bowey though 'A F'...they have a heap of development left in them.

		Adam Cerra

The natural progression of the younger players on our list will strengthen it quite substantially. In the meantime I would be focussing on Max's & May's successors (3 to 5 years) and a key forward (King) in the next year or so.

Jack Viney not being loved enough?

Totally with you 'A F', he really went to another level when it counted. Great finals series. That centre 4 of Jackson, Trac, Oliver and Jack were the stuff of legends in the 3rd Q onslaught. The sum of the parts.

Kate Roffey, the unsung hero of our success

Poor old 'Cranky' after a premiership win surely you could be 'Less Cranky Franky' or even 'Friendly Franky'... I did say "If"... Sorry for yelling...

AFL 360 and On The Couch grand final edition.

One thing really stood out for me last night and that's how much Christian Petracca has grown in his media role. If you look back even from half way through this season to now his transformation is remarkable. ...and he seems like a genuinely good bloke. I'm reliably informed that he is.

Kate Roffey, the unsung hero of our success

I would love it if the best person for the job when Pert steps down is a woman. That would be a huge step.

		Vale Greg Parke

One of my favourite players in those dark times...

My 3 word player analysis V Bulldogs

You could see him will himself, he just wasn't going to be beaten. A huge contribution.

My 3 word player analysis V Bulldogs

Brayshaw - Heart & Soul Jackson - Important 3rd Q 'joeboy' - thanks for the season mate, as usual this is always the first & sometimes only thread I look forward to & read win, lose or draw. 'joeboy' - A great contribution

We have to tag McCrae, he's the Key

If not Harmes then Viney, but I'm pretty much on with this...

Why Jayden Hunt must be the sub

I think this is an issue but JJ hasn't had a lot of game time but some maybe better than none.
-

Why Jayden Hunt must be the sub

The sub rule will be exploited, if not used. With them and us going in with players under a cloud the exploitation of the sub may not even be an issue. I suspect the sub will be used legitimately. So, who is the best choice? I think Hunt would give us more coverage...but wouldn't be disappointed either way. JJ would be stiff to miss. The wildcard could be Melk... Some have called for Smith but that is too big a risk if May is in.

		Earthquake...a bad omen

Wow...lucky it didn't happen on Brownlow night then or we would be screwed.... Dodged a bullet there.

		Redbacks?

I used to like the beer until Matilda Bay were brought out by CUB and they changed the formula to keep cost down. Pity...

		The Ollie Whines Lounge

So, just say we picked Wines... Then a pretty fair chance we might not have been able to get Oliver down the track. Yep, things were crook at the time but they've worked themselves out pretty well in the end. If I had a choice of Wines or Oliver...I'm taking Oliver every time. Probably time to get over the past drafting and celebrate what we have now.

		Brownlow Medal 2021

Peter Jackson interview on Sporting Life.

Funny you say that. Was talking to a mate the other day and telling him Demetrio was very important to regenerating the club. Supporter/Fan power also can't be underestimated here, it was a lot of us that reached out to Demetrio to do something as most of us couldn't see a way out if it was left to the club alone. To his credit, he did. Never underestimate people power. Jackson, as has been proven was the right man for the job. I had a mate working with the AFL at the time who had been involved in some projects with him. He told me then that we had the right man. No BS, just gets it done.

		Medals for All?

Well, some are talking about getting tatts...

		Medals for All?

The 22 can't win a premiership without the others. As much as our football culture would have you believe it's the 22 on the day, it isn't. You don't get there without winning enough games to qualify. Take away the FD and the rest of the squad and see if you can win a flag. It's a team win, all the team should be rewarded. It's time this stupid on the day culture was relegated to the past. A premiership is won because of a good season not just a good day.

		Farewell Josh Mahoney

'@Mach5' what's the bet that Dillon is being set up to take over from Gill when he moves on... ...another casting of the net far and wide and somehow having the right guy in house.
-

		Farewell Josh Mahoney

He made the right call whatever the reason. AFL house is a jobs for the boys organisation. Casting the net far and wide for the best possible candidate is a cliche well worn.

		Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023

They could quite easily...May is quick and can play short or tall...he could well take Hibberds spot. Lever is a floater, leaving Tommo and Petty to take the talls.
