  1. Said this before, will say it again. We have a successful 2021, sure clubs will come knocking but there will be no reason to move. We have years like the last 2 and we can kiss goodbye to Trac and Oliver. The ball's in our hands ladies and gentlemen...
  2. Thanks 'Macca', there's something special about vinyl. Putting an LP on the turntable, looking at great cover art and reading the liner notes not to mention the sound.
  3. 'Dr Evil' is 'GNF'...
  4. I hope they're not basing their thinking on what happened this year. If they think they will get big tv ratings with another footy frenzy I hope they account for the fact they had a captive audience in Melbourne over the 2020 season. Surely that's not like to be the case next season (I hope).
  5. Doesn't seem to get the ball very much...
  6. Just noticed this one... https://www.afl.com.au/news/524861/frawley-legacy-lives-on-with-new-centre-at-moorabbin?fbclid=IwAR3_1XUqA0tZTmXH5sGMlYI7JgjCa3rFOBmLWyC0OBntnaiHLhBTJsM7XS4 I'm interested to know how much the community really has access to these type of developments. Can someone tell me if it is real or just a smokescreen to get better club facilities?
  7. Let's hope Beams has the good grace to demand full payment and completion of his contract...
  8. I would be great if he did...would make a lot of us including me look stupid but I wouldn't mind.
  9. I just watched some highlights and I would be trading up to get him based on those. Now, I haven't seen any of the kids this year apart from a couple of highlight packages and he looks good. His highlights are a mile ahead of Macrae who a lot seem interested in. I stress again just highlights..some of Perkins were of no value as they were pumping the opposition but there was some good stuff later in the reel...
  10. Seriously 'Red', why would they? It's pretty obvious our FD doesn't rate him any longer either. If I was them I would be going for the kid in this case. Good kids who play KPF are worth their weight.
  11. Going by the highlights only and having not seen any of these players... Macrae was a bit underwhelming. Poulter was the most interesting, has great awareness and not afraid to take the game on. Anyway, looks like we should pick up a couple of good kids in this draft.
  12. The SFL is a bit of both plus the old Eastern Churches league...
  13. No it doesn't... It helps bring the game back to being the positional game it was meant to be rather than a running maul type game it often is. The basic idea of the zone is that a certain amount of players need to be in the forward half at any ball up or throw in. Players can still access the whole ground but they will need to be aware and not everyone will be able to crowd a contest. We already have limited zones in the game (centre square and kick out) and they've in my mind worked for the betterment. People are too scared to change though...I get that. Tinkering around the edges with interchange numbers and other minor rule changes is not going to make much difference...to really get the game working it zones are the answer.
  14. They still have the De Goey case hang over them. I wonder if they will seek AFL cap relief it this goes the wrong way. Probably will want a priority pick as well.
  15. Yep, you heard it right...unbelievable.
  16. It just gets worse...now the CEO is making a fool of himself on SEN. Lyon is hammering him and rightfully so...
  17. Yes, I think application of the current rules would be enough to fix gang tackling. Handball...some of the things that pass for handball these days are a joke. What would Teddy Whitten be thinking, his old flick pass was more legit than some of what we see today.
  18. I don't mind 16 a side, but we're all guessing as to what the outcomes would be. I think zones similar to TAC cup might be a better solution...at least it's been trialed even though only at junior level. ...it brings back some degree of positional football. Who knows we might even see another 'Plugger'.... As to the rules, enforce the ones we have...I've thought about the idea of banning the gang tackling but even this could be enforced better. How many times do we see the 2nd man in go high in the tackle or scrag in other illegal means. It seems if the first tackle is close too legit the 2nd can do whatever he likes. I do like the idea of banning gang tackles though, one ball carrier, one tackler
  19. I really don't understand why they don't just bite the bullet on this one and make significant changes to the interchange cap. I guess they're getting there bit by bit...nearly like drawing teeth.
  20. Interesting... I think outside of football Buckley probably has more empathy. ...but inside the buble of the football club Malthouse has him well covered. He's very highly regarded by his players at WC and C/Wood. Winning premierships doesn't hurt but he was able to get the best out of players Buckley in his wisdom decided to move on. Malthouse comes across as an arrogant a... hole but I think he knows how to work with different player personalities and get the best from them. It appears, and the record seems to show, that Buckley can't.
  21. Very impressive...
  22. Collingwood, St Kilda and Geelong will struggle...
  23. Yep, some interesting rumours...if true then the Tiges boys should get a refund. ...but they (C/Wood) handled the outcome poorly in how they let him go. Also their coach made a mockery of the hub...not exactly setting a good example. ...but the big one is the contempt they have shown their supporter group. I guess the arrogance must come from the top, I can't quite think who it might be?????
  24. I think the one thing we miss here is that the Tommy Mac contract screwed us. If we had of moved Tommy on I would have given us a higher rating. It may still come back to haunt us with contracts to be signed and inability to bring players into the club. The immediate impact is it most probably kept us out of the Treloar trade. We can't afford to be paying around 700k for depth. So whilst we can sit on the high horse and laugh at C/Wood they have fixed their cap issue, they moved on who they wanted to move on. The way they did it may come back and bite them and it should but in the end we still have a player we needed to move on. Of course you can't create a market if it's not there and no one was interested in Tommy so we did the best with the hand we held...
  25. Watched him being interviewed on Fox...he looked like a dead man walking. Tipping he's next out the door at C/wood. Was hung out to dry. Will be scapegoated to protect the bigger egos.
