    Brad who???
  2. I can understand when people get bit tired of Lumumba...he may be seen as a merchant by many but it doesn't mean his point/s are not valid. When someone like Davis comes out with like comments surely all of us would take a bit more notice. Call it woke or another silly name, but I would think maybe things are a bit crook.
  3. This is the bit that I didn't/don't like...unlike you 'Daz' I quite enjoyed his training reports, but I digress. We went through a period where the board and CEO were sending the club backwards at a rate of knots and questions needed to be asked. 'Sat' would defend them when anyone dared to raise an issue but not just defend them he would get stuck into who ever dared question the club. I guess this maybe part of his military training not to question authority but it needed to be done. ...and despite his assertions that if people had a problem they should raise it at the AGM or with the person concerned, in the end it was people (member) power that tipped them out. We are in a strange place at the moment and I'm not sure we have the right people in place to take us further forward. I'm really concerned that the current board are not being straight up with us and we could be heading down a similar path to before and the many befores before that...if that makes sense. We all have blind spots and this was his...he is/was company man. On other non football matters...and there are some on other forums on this site I found him willing to take in other points of view if you had a good enough argument. It made for some interesting discussion.
  4. 'Sat' & '58' have never been seen in the same room 'dazzle'... Good company man/men.
  5. Is '58er' really 'Sat'???
  6. Buckley is the one who needs to stand up... He's a great media performer, has all the right words to say, comes across as well balanced and honest but on this it's crickets.
  7. This adds a bit more juice to the story and calls out the clubs leaders... I must admit Buckley's silence has been deafening. https://www.afl.com.au/news/550084/-can-no-longer-stay-silent-ex-pie-takes-aim-at-leaders-over-racism-claims?fbclid=IwAR1Ii51BWjCo3C03vaKhl6y6EevJR6o_-W0E6J7gc2pWwrQJ-ODuC0SR0HI
  8. Nup...if you want to know why it took Max so long to develop it wasn't only his attitude and injuries. It was the attitude of a dumb coach and footy department that persisted with Spencer in the ruck at Casey whilst trying to make the far better prospect, Max...into a key forward. I remember watching him in the ruck for Casey one day when Spencer was out injured and couldn't for the life of me figure why he wasn't the number one choice ...he blitzed, would we leave him there? no they put him back forward again. It took some serious changes at the club before this changed. Max flourished in the number one ruck role when he got the chance and that's where he plays.

    Goodness me...

Let's not jump onto this one 'bin'...but I mostly agree. Maybe my wording should have been moved out. I think what '@Baghdad Bob' had to say in a previous post is more relevant to the topic at hand.

We had stability with the Stynes and McLardy boards.... Stability is not an end in itself. What we need are the best people in the right positions... Hopefully we have that.

What a strange comment...and post by the way. Talk about Trumpism...you've made some very odd accusations. If you read my first post you would see that I said I was disappointed with the result but we move on. Dear Donald had to be moved on kicking a screaming. Maybe not but it's always good to have a different set of eyes...I would have preferred that but it didn't fall the way I would have liked, no big deal, we move on. I wasn't alluding to any significant influence by the way... It would have been good to have another stable presence that wasn't hand picked by the current board.

Like the Football Department it was time to get another view... It's unhealthy to keep with the status quo for too long, particlulary when we don't have results to show. I don't think having one new board member that hasn't been hand selected by the board would lead to instability unless they had something to hide.

I'm a bit disappointed in this result...but we move on.
  15. I think you find similar results with most fascist dictators no matter the brand they attach.
  16. I guess he got the a... so that's pretty close to Rear...
  17. I'm not an Australian history buff 'Biff' but wasn't this policy drafted and set up by the Protectionist Party of Barton and Deakin? Just asking for a friend.
  18. What's that got to do with anything? Is it a good enough reason to maintain the status quo? They do it, so why not us... Shouldn't we aspire to be better?
  19. I don't know him, never met him so don't know whether I like him or not. He comes across as a bit of a merchant banker but it doesn't mean he doesn't have a case, it doesn't mean he wasn't subjected to the abuse he says he has. Take the personality out of it and look at the issue. ...and as for the aboriginal friends and understanding how racism works, I think you only truly know if you walk in their shoes.

Of course he can go up forward but that wasn't the point of the post...our good friend the doctor seemed to imply that Goodwin had no idea playing him as a defender, his natural position.

Spot on 'Cranky'...Petty played his junior footy as a defender and came to the club as such...
