  1. Yeah, I'm with you here 'bin'...it's not mental exhaustion. We've hit a brick wall and that points to heavy training loads. You could see it with Max going back to the Pies game on...he's just not covering the same ground. I'm not talking about a skinny kid or ageing veteran, I'm talking about a player in his prime. We could be way off the mark 'bin' but as I said to old mate 'Kent' of the sack Goodwin brigade, the next few weeks will tell the story.
  2. No, but kids add energy to the mix and we have been lacking energy recently. That fact that he is an excellent decision maker and kick won't go astray.
  3. Rivers and May are definitely run and gun type players if given the opportunity. They've had to defend hard recent games because of the mids being down a bit... My question is when do we look at Bowey and does he come into the back half at the expense Hunt who either goes forward or out of the team?
  4. They're letting players waltz through the protected zone to cut the quick play on...it's subtle but is happening. It was enforced early in the season but not now. It has to be absolutely obvious now. I think it has made a eunuch of the rule...
  5. No, the AFL buckled on this one. The umpires have not enforced the rule as they did in the earlier rounds unfortunately. It didn't suit Geelong for one...

At his age any calf is serious...particularly a recurring one.

They had the same huge game last week and didn't bring the heat...would have been in the 8 if they beat the Hawks.

I think the weather will probably go against including Brown this weekend. Looking at rain and periods of hail...for Saturday afternoon. Hardly the stuff of key forwards. If anything we might go in even smaller. ...but I suspect no change.
  9. 20yo mid, hard at it, tackling machine who finds the ball and uses it well. Give me some more of that run of the mill...
  10. Exactly 'dazzle'...his ruck craft, 2nd efforts, tackling, vision to open out play with handball, pick good options are exceptional.

Yep, that's what I call solid evidence...

I guess they don't trust the SA chief health officer...that's a surprise.

A friend of mine does some work with a minor celebrity (maybe underselling him, he's quite well known) who believes the earth is flat. When my friend was asked what it would take to get him to change his mind and believe the earth was flat he said, 'evidence'...

It's pretty easy to see why "The Eagles" asked Vince to join. Not only talented but apparently a really good person, does a lot behind the scenes to help others in trouble. Always loved this song...a tribute to the writer Mac Davis
  17. No I think that was the 3 word analysis. Perfectly summed up our performance in 3 words. I don't think anyone could argue with you this week 'joeboy'...

With all the controversy this year I bet they wish they had given it to him...
  19. Posted similar 'red'...I think it will be Lyon and Clarkson. Take the pick of which to which club but my thinking is Clarkson to Collingwood and Lyon to Carlton. I actually feel for Teague, he's being hung out to dry and probably won't be given the opportunity to see the job through. I wish both clubs a miserable futures full of failure. I hope that is not being too unkind.
  20. All good 'dazzle'...
  21. Maybe 'dazzle' but if you look at all clubs primary ruckman, how many were taken top 20? NikNat & Grundy are all I can think of... Jackson was taken on his ability to play forward & there was even talk of him being a tall mid, as we know he's a great 2nd fiddle to Max. If he was a pure ruck I doubt he would have gone top 10, maybe just in top 20 probably not...Coleman-Jones is a forward & English just scraped in as a top 20 selection. By the way, I'm not saying it's right or wrong to overlook a ruckman, you can call rubbish all you want but that's what is happening. They're just not being selected at the pointy end. You can't (well you did) use the mid season draft to back your argument, this is where clubs will look to bolster ruck depth &/or in Norths case secure players for the future where they can afford to put some development time in. As for Mac, I guess we wait & see. It would be great having another young developing ruck talent on the list....
  22. 1999 is a fair way back there 'ManDee'... It would be unlikely to happen now...the last ruckman to go top 20 in my recollection was Grundy (not a skinny kid) with pick 18 in 2012. He was a standout junior yet slipped back the draft order and was a steal at that pick. Fraser became the argument why you don't select a skinny ruckman with early picks.
  23. I thought you might be implying something about St Kilda footballers hence the Mary...
  24. Peter Paul & Mary..
  25. "Lazy" would be mine...nice take on a minor blues.
