  1. It does beg the question. The only answer can be brand protection, it's certainly not working as a deterrent.
  2. We're struggling to keep things in house at the moment also... I remember Eddie demanding that the club (at least the president) be told when a player is on 2 strikes I think it was. Could you imagine how this would be now with us and someone with a lot of inside information from the top leaking like a sieve.
  3. The way the policy has been set up it makes me wonder if the AFL are using mental heath as a smokescreen. They would hardly want players suspended for illicit drug taking. They may have deliberately set the policy up to fail.
  4. Not really, the sexy part of the story has already been told...it all dies down from here and most people won't care about any follow up unless he is caught out again. Tell 'em it's a one off then get on with life.
  5. He attacks the contest hard...apart from Tommy Mac we have no one else that does & he's out for a while.
  6. Maybe 2022 if Brown/sss don't pull the finger.
  7. Wasn't it Dale Lewis who got pilloried by the AFL for saying up to 60% (just read it was 75%) of players were involved in illicit drugs? This was back in the early 2000's and whatever the real figure it would be hard to believe it has has retreated. The problem is society wide, coke is a well known drug of choice in professional circles so we can't just blame young, dumb footballers with too much time and money. My take is different...I know it's good to get us off the front page for a few days but the fact is many of our players will be in the same boat. Most will come through unscathed but others like Fisher and Cousins will have their lives ruined. I think it's a personal issue and really has nothing to do with us. It shouldn't be front page news but I understand why it is. The AFL try to micro manage everything but in the end all they and the clubs should do is provide education and support, the rest is up to the individual. I do find the brand protection stuff amusing though...the lies we get fed.
  8. A mistake... Is the mistake a single use or a multitude of uses creating a single problem?
  9. Mental without the health part...
  10. Really...then it was a great decision by me to switch off at 3Q time. Seems like the only thing I missed was the Voss spray.
  11. I hope so, I'm sick of us being topic of the week this week...
  12. Really poor 'Maldon'...they're getting opened up time and again.
  13. Thanks 'Macca', my thoughts exactly. What a childish, ridiculous comment...what a DH.
  14. I think that's the key 'dazzle', he's just not hitting the packs hard enough and until he does he stays at Casey.
  15. They are a better team this year and I wouldn't undersell them. Very strong at both ends but the weakness is the midfield. If they get through with a fit list they will be dangerous, but that's a big if with the age of the stars and Cameron's dodgy hammy.
  16. Probably ended up costing them the game with that brain fade. ...and on a similar note, the dogs have a couple of players with short arms. Did not commit to contact in marking contests in the 3rd Q. ...and another other note, Weightman. I don't know, the dives, the acting in general play, nearly ending the year of that kid at Geelong by taking his legs out. He needs a good kick up the backside by his coach for a start. At least the umpires have woken up to him. At the moment he's a liability in big games. Koz was the right pick that's for sure. ...and another, other, other note. What was Treloar thinking? If Smith didn't cost them the game, Treloar certainly did.
  17. I'm not particular 'La Dee'... I hate them all.
  18. They forget quickly... There is no game to be played so I think they just forgot.
  19. That looks like a bad error by the boys there. Weitering is a walk up start in this team.
  20. I think this is a good idea 'bin'... Despite the talk of Weid being the backup I think it's not working so we try something else. ..and you're right, he doesn't have the attributes to go into defence. In the end we need to find another 1 or 2 KPF's and can't afford to keep depth around for depth's sake. If Tommo can do it, it will prolong his career with us.
  21. Companies from the USA know everything 'Red', the amazing thing is they will still pick someone currently working at head office for the role. Who would have seen that coming. With a bit of luck I will be wrong but it's been a closed shop for a while now.
  22. We've got away with it for most of the season but we do miss Salem's toughness as well as skill down back.
  23. The match was over...the only action you can take after the siren is your kick if it was awarded before the siren. Honestly I don't know if this is fact but pretty sure we will find out over the next few days. There was a reason the ump was on the mic to someone upstairs. My guess is to confirm the timing. Once confirmed, it was game over...go back & have your kick.
  24. I'm pretty sure that the ump was checking online for the time line... The Tiges cost themselves the game anyway, should have put it away.
  25. I don't see how it could be a 50 if he kicked it over after the siren.... Totally different...ours occurred during the game, not after the bell.
