...and why would you play Murphy with a broken cheekbone, he didn't want to go near a contested ball all night and who would blame him. By the way, anyone know how a bike helmet protects a cheekbone?
-
Absolutely...hard as nails and smart. Sydney targeted players like Mumford who they knew where required but not able to get the $'ss. I would throw money at Parker I reckon he is a beauty and talking to a Swan supporter today so does he.

Nup...but don't get me started on the small forward debate again. Just watch Carlton tonight they have 3 of them and all as useless as. Unless a small forward can work up the ground as a high half forward like Bruest or Wingard then they are useless. The days of Milne are over.
-
Yeah, but 'Jack' it's disappointing that both sides can't lose. It will be better if no one trades with Carlton this year, their list is not that good. Judd, one or two years left. Scotland their most consistent player over the last number of years nearly out the door. Waite can't stay on the park. Average back line, no forward line without Waite. A few good mids. They could be on a rebuild after this year. Ratten maybe not so bad???

Probably going a little too far there but I get your point.
-
Think you're right mate, if we have a go at anyone from Collingwood it should be Daisy who has a huge work rate. Body to continue in AFL is the problem though.

Morton won the Larke.

Agree with both of these points.

I'm talking about Scharenberg.

From what I hear a deal has been done for Bellchambers and in my opinion he is streets ahead of Warnock who is too one dimensional. Carlton would have to give up something good to get pick one, I can't see them giving up Murphy so it might have to be Gibbs. GWS need key defenders but Carlton are light on there, I think Carlton might not be on the rise they think they are. Collingwood...maybe Brown or Reid or they would want someone like Beams. Essendon have a surplus in some areas but they might have a deficit by the end of the season, if not they could get involved in a 3 way deal. Agree that it's only the power clubs who could get involved but some of the pretenders ie: Carlton don't have a lot to offer and will get desperate. Who knows...it makes for interesting debate though.

Our recruiters have seen more than just the one game or this carnival, they have been following these kids for a few years now. Sheed looked great in the game against Vic Country but it was interesting to see where he was on the afl website top 20, now these guys don't always get it right but I noticed the guy that did it was involved with Kevin Sheahan when the AA team was announced so I guess he has more info than just this carnival. Sheed seems to be coming home strong but the broken collar bone puts a spanner in the works now and makes it harder to assess his true position. The WA boys on here might give a better insight on what he's done over there and how he is perceived. The bits I've seen of Aish are all class, he is a great kick and has fantastic perception and peripheral vision (the things you can't teach) which makes him a really good prospect. He came into the comp under done and seemed to be the only one being tagged in the games I've seen. It's unusual in this comp to put a hard tag on someone but they couldn't let him loose, he would carve up the opposition. Some have likened him to Cotchin but to me he uses the ball better, his decisions and use are right up there. Kelly I want to look at over the weekend, have a look back at his games but he is rated very highly as well for his run, clean hands and use of the ball. Scharanberg looks good but it would have been better to see what he could do through traffic, he has no trouble picking kicks up off half back. The recruiters would know him well and I'm sure they will be watching his SA form when he gets back home. Back to Sheed, the injury may push him down the rankings and he could well fall through to our next pick if he doesn't get back on the park this year. Who knows??

Could be similar to Fyfe. It's going to be hard choice at the top end that's why I'm greedy and want 2 shots at it.

"There's a strong argument," Gil McLachlan on a Priority Pick.

I think our list is ok but not good enough to compete with the new clubs. You've mentioned to tiges and if they don't win it this year, which is highly unlikely then their chances are next to none. Carlton unless they can spend their way in are also on the way down, I can't see where there improvement will come from unless they take some risks, trade and buy heavily at the end of this season. Nothing is a must have but each of the premiers over the last few years have had some leg up from the AFL rules of the time. The only way to get respect is to win games then all else is forgotten unless you are Essendon. -
So in other words we keep Howe.
-
He's a very good kick of the ball.

Nah, just the name the 'roar' is the same as a tiger fan page, I know this is not it but we have enough rubbish spoken by mainstream journos without putting out these views from within our own ranks. What do you think would be better? option 1: pick up two out of Scharenberg, Aish, Kelly or Sheed or option 2: pick up just one of the 4 named. To me it's a no brainer and I don't understand why supporters would be against it. It's not tanking, the people responsible for that are no longer at the club. It's not a culture issue, no one is saying lose games to get a PP, the past record shows we deserve it. So lets push for it, there are no negatives that I can see. What are the negatives that you see? -

Good to see you are back after your last, last post 'P_Man' but I believe "Melbourne deserve the priority pick, just give it to them". I don't understand why some supporters are against getting this assistance. Writing for something called the roar are you sure this is not a set up. -
Pretty sure we have spoken to at least one of them, wouldn't call it a formal interview though.
-
Happy to hear that 'Ron'.
-
I thought Ron wasn't doing too well... For what it's worth I think Craig will be at the club next year. He has the experience that Jackson talks about the club needing.
-
Can play and will be right in the mix.

Good points, will be interesting to see how their midfield holds up over the next few years with a couple getting near the end and no obvious replacements with the exception of the injury prone FA Thomas. -

It's not a miracle cure 'P_Man, and I don't care what other clubs will be saying. We are in a position where we need assistance, we take it as we are rebuilding the club and it will do what it is meant to do, assist us. Of course it's no miracle cure. -
Boyd won't get to 3 'Norm'. Even if GWS don't want him he has too much trade value for them.

I don't think they would either but I would ask the question, I want to see how far they will go. A key forward also holds the hopes they might have of a flag and this is there chance to get one. Winning 3 more games this year has nothing to do with the priority pick and if we get one or two I guarantee it won't be second round. As I said earlier don't look a gift horse in the mouth...we need picks if we are to compete with GWS or GC in a couple of years time, if you are happy for us to improve a bit and sit mid level for a few years but not be a serious contender then stay with your current thinking. Don't link this with tanking, it's now a different issue, we're not tanking to get these picks we're just not good enough. Agree, and I hope more get on board. Too many are getting sucked into arguments from the other clubs, who cares about them.
