No, I get your point (and understand it's Ralphy's article) it's just that I don't think they believe there will be a fair resolution so why put yourself through it. I appreciate you posting the information..

They might just say bad luck...you sort it out AFL, you weren't there when needed you. Never have been for all your tokenism. Backed Eddie M & others before him. Who helped Goodes when he was left out on a limb? Who helped Eddie B? I can totally understand their reticence.
-
Who could blame them. I don't trust the AFL either, history shows they have never got it right...despite all the chances they've had. Why would that change now.

Improving the Demons coaching staff for 2023?
rjay replied to Supreme_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm not a fan of the recently retired player as coach thing but I would take a good hard look at Joel Selwood if he gave it away and wanted to pursue coaching.- 104 replies

Improving the Demons coaching staff for 2023?

Gary Lyon would have been a rubbish AFL coach. At least he was smart enough to realise this and stuck to the media.- 104 replies

He would already be playing if he was 'picket'... He doesn't have the agility or ariel ability of the pre knee Schwartz.
-
Agree with some of what you say 'Jimmy'... ...but not the Balta comparison. I think Balta is more athlete than footballer, a little dumb at times. I think JVR is a more natural footballer but not overly athletically gifted. ...maybe a slightly smarter & agile version of our own Tommy Mac. He's certainly not the 2nd coming of David Schwartz as some have likened him.

Good to have Goldie back...

It's apparently a story he's been working on for quite some time, that the report was recently tabled probably influenced the timing of his story being released. That and it being GF week when more eyes are on the AFL. Whether he had access to the report or not really doesn't matter...he did have access to the participants.
-
You've read it? were you part of the interview process? If not, how do you know it was handled poorly?
-
Same 'rp'...I wonder how our club has fared over the years. Maybe having Jetta and Whelan, strong characters has helped us but...who knows. AFL HQ can drop their collectives heads in shame as well. ...as for the integrity unit. Please, give men a break...a lot of good they did Eddie Betts. Gill's disgusting silence on Goodes & McGuire...the list goes on.

2022 Assistant Coach of the Year: Troy Chaplin
rjay replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's voted on by all the AFL coaches (head coach & assistants). I think they might be a little more diligent than when the players vote their awards. -
Not in Goody's favourite list 'norm'...I would think anyone here would have May, Lever and Petty ahead of him. So it's not about favourites it's about where he actually sits on the list. I reckon Goody has it right.
-
Thanks 'A F'...spot on. If he's going for depth he might as well stay. It makes no sense to move on.

Interesting...I heard that it had gone up a notch from Burgess, so there you go. Who would really know? The FD and I'm sure they have been analysing the drop off in games and will have a good handle on it.
-
Lobb is not that, at least not a good one. The Weid call by the way is him about 5th in line, Tommy 4th...just saying that we will have depth if we recruit needs.
-
I would hold 'bin'...if we get another ruck (Grundy) and a developing ruck., then we will have Weid and Tommy who can pinch hit if needed. A player like Gunston might be a better bet then than Lobb, he's certainly a proven finals performer. Lob isn't.
-
Exactly Why? I get the idea of Lobb, but surely we can find a better alternative.
-
I think Adem would be great appointment for EFC. ...but with Sheedy still on the board and Hird wanting in it might not be in Adem's best interest. Interesting times for the coaching sub committee also.
-
Would prefer to see Swans win it... ..then Brisbane Geelong but Danger gets injured in Prelim and can't play, Scott gets COVID & can't coach. Collingwood but Howe misses due to injury. Sorry for the bit of mean spirit but I couldn't take Howe or Danger holding up the cup.
-
I think Zanker will stand up this week 'Werribee'...she's probably got more raw talent than anyone on the list, just needs to put it together consistently I hope Goldy is back, one of my favourites.
-
It's actually not 'Jimmy'...it's more about what's seen as his future output after time spent in a good system.
-
snap...

I would say that's accepting mediocrity....
