  1. Whatever the problem/s I sure hope we have it sorted as there is a premiership cup that should have our name on it at the end of this season if we have.
  2. We're more in agreement than not 'RP'...if it's Casey so be it. ...as for one training base, well I think it's probably more sensible to put money into one faculty and keep it as state of the art rather than spread over a few.
  3. No dismissiveness and no avoiding your question. All I'm saying is we need to keep up...and need a home. That's pretty simple. So far we have in place a short term solution that is working but everyone knows, including both of you, that it is short term. As soon as anyone questions anything to do with facilities some seem to think it's an attack on the board. It's not, but it is a legitimate question. ....and 'demon3165', we can add game plan to the mix of reasons although I think injury might have effected the plan. It's neve just one thing.
  4. Ok, lets just keep everything the same then. Injury was a big factor in costing us a flag last year, I also suspect a bit of premiership hangover and the uncertainty of the Jackson contract were part of many factors. People here who support the the board blindly are looking at any comment as a criticism. I believe we need a home base, currently we are still nomads moving between Gosch's, Casey, Port and admin at the 'G'... I'm not blaming the current board although I hope they are being honest with the members. I don't know what Pert said tonight...that's why I asked you????
  5. Of course we can upgrade Casey if that's the path we are taking. My original point was that your comment that we won a flag with the facility we had doesn't hold water. That was 2 years ago, I know we have had some upgrades since that but we are behind the competition. We should win a flag this year, it won't mean our facilities are at a level they should be, it just means we have a better list.
  6. I think we will unfortunately. edit: I just hope the losses are evenly distributed amongst the top tier. I would hate us to lose players but Brisbane lose none, they really don't have another team chipping away at them and we have a few. Adelaide I think should come back to earth a bit.
  7. All facilities need to be improved to keep up with the competition.
  8. You're not getting the point... I have not said anything about us needing to be near the MCG. ...but our current facilities need to be upgraded, we are falling behind the arms race. As we did when we were at the MCG and didn't read the room.
  9. We also won multiple premierships when based at the MCG in the 50's and 60's. It's not a valid argument, things move on and more quickly than ever these days. On the home base issue there doesn't appear to be a lot of movement.
  10. Particularly Hawthorn.... They didn't want anything to do with AFLW until way too late in the day.
  11. There is some rubbish in here about the match committee and Goody... Seriously we didn't have the depth last year to make the changes required to get the season on track. The Casey premiership gave many the delusion of depth.
  12. Probably a mix of all things...also adding the injury component to fitness which is one you never mention unless your name is Chris Scott. I'm sure they know exactly what went wrong and are working to fix it but I guess we will truly know that answer by the end of the season, not before it starts.
  13. He will be well aware of where he stands...
  14. He had a good 2nd half to the season, a year older, much fitter and stronger. When he gets a chance I think he will perform his role well. I think the only reasons he is unlikely to play round 1 are Brown and Tmac, who are both training well. Tommy's form pre injury was average at best last year so maybe something will open up. Brown may be rested at times through the season. I think the forward line will be invigorated this year not by a saviour but by a number of factors, JVR being one.

Some of the more enlightened think they will have a down year and bounce back into contention in 2024...dreamers. To me it looks like they are in for an extended period in the bottom part of the ladder.

There only a few real Hawthorn supporters and I think I know them all personally and can count them on one maybe two hands. The rest are all on the bandwagon, not real, not passionate, just a bunch of DH's.

I hope he's aiming for every game...not that he will get them but you've got to aim high.
  18. I think you are on the money here... A few years back we were at the top end for accuracy. The game plan then was to bring the ball into an area that was easy to kick goals from. Pretty much in front and not too far out.
  19. They're certainly better than they showed last year...how far they rebound I guess is the question. Kennedy is a big loss and they have a few other ageing stars nearer to the end. Going to be an interesting watch.
  20. We're lucky to have Ben...champion player even better bloke.
  21. After all the good will with Alfie the other day then this...
