Gary Pert
The biggest issue I have with Pert is not with Pert himself, it's the unfortunate timing of the changeover. I think we needed to have a club review of the Prelim performance that being the new man in the job it wasn't appropriate for him to call.

Jon Patton
So' @Matsuo Basho'...have the Hawks declared they are after Paton or is it one of those media stories? ...or do you have some inside intel form the Hawks that he is a target?
-
Josh Jenkins
Jenkins is a small forward in a big mans body. No thanks...

Jack Viney and the medical staff...
His decision making is poor and he often burns teammates where he should be working with them particularly if he's Captain... He tries to take on way to much... The same Selwood who is a 3 time premiership player, premiership captain and walk up start to the hall of fame.

Jack Viney and the medical staff...
Viney has been playing limited game time and his impact has been negative. Love his intensity (on the ground, it's a negative off) and desire but we need more than that from Jack...needs to take time off and watch the career tapes of Joel Selwood to see how it's done. Joel plays team first, Jack thinks he does and that's the difference in attitude at least. Joel is of course the much better footballer. Get the attitude right Jack and your football will improve.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
You've got to be kidding... Frosty's biggest weaknesses is he's not a natural footballer. Good athlete when he gets to use that strength but the midfield is not the place for it. Smart footballers play him on a break. Cripps & Bont are smart footballers.

Welcome Back to the Bottom of the Ladder
I think we better get Plan A working before we worry about plan B. Our current game plan and/or its implementation is way off the mark.

Lyon: Oliver is Demons best EVER midfielder
I will excuse him on the basis of major ops on both shoulders in the off season. When on song he's a one touch player who uses the ball exceptionally well and never panics.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
He has played defence...I would be looking at him as a long term replacement for Nev... Strong, has some leg speed and aerial ability.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Read my other posts and you will know this is not the case. May and Lever will make a difference, plus getting some K's into some of the others but we're not good enough this year. ...but there is no use putting games into players who are not ready and to my mind not going to be AFL level players... I don't see the upside in having a player on the ground who can't carry his weigh and at least offer a contest. We just don't have the talent at Casey, and the injury list is hurting us. The only one I would have a good look at is Sparrow and I think his best position will be in defence rather than as a mid. Time to try him there and give him some games to develop.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
No Jeffy doesn't have the same issues as Spargo. Jeffy's are in the head. He has 'X' factor, he's a known goal kicker, he's fast & he can tackle. These are all issues we can only wish Spargo had without the mental fragility.
-
CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Buy what you like...but go back and watch. He had the same problem & it hasn't been fixed. He gets run over & run through, can't stick a tackle & I think that's a liability. Particularly when he also doesn't hit the scoreboard.
-
CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Spargo isn't physically strong enough for AFL football at the moment. Also not fast & needs something if he's going to be the future...
-
CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Jeffy at least makes the opposition nervous. They look at Spargo & have little fear that he can stick a tackle even if he can catch them. Harsh but true at the moment...

Max Gawn we feel your pain
Max is working on lifting his profile for post football and current outside of football activities. Maybe he could write some Bob Murphy style articles about the game but in his own quirky manner. Agree, he needs to STFU about us... I'm sick of hearing from players and coaches of the MFC...

The healthy ego of Paul Roos and our current plight.
Balme was a good strategic investment at Richmond, Collingwood were smart in getting Walsh on board after losing him. I would look at Gubby...he's probably the only one out there with experience and guile to do a good job. Never thought I would say that but...

CASEY DEMONS V RICHMOND VFL
Didn't really look the goods before he was injured.. As a junior he didn't get a lot of the ball and was not a goal kicker. At his size he has to do more than just tackle, run fast...and get a couple of kicks He's following a similar path to another couple of kids that have been on the list, Dom Barry & Dion Johnstone. They looked ok but couldn't find enough of the ball. So...just a feeling I have. Hope I'm proved wrong...

CASEY DEMONS V RICHMOND VFL
Can't see Baker of Bedford making it...have doubts on Petty, not sure he is quick enough (pace and decision making) for AFL level. Would like to see Sparrow taking Nev's spot down back but with Viney going down may come into the midfield.

The healthy ego of Paul Roos and our current plight.
I think Mahoney will be gone at the end of this year... Port's win now trades haven't worked for them only Rockliffe is playing at the moment out of that group. The young talent is driving them from underneath.
-
Trade Petracca?
I would be prepared to trade anyone on the list with the exception of Oliver and Gawn. The other exception is I no longer trust the current football bosses to get the right deal. If we had a proven, experienced football manager in charge of the deal then almost anything is on the table... Including nothing if they think that is the right thing.
-
The healthy ego of Paul Roos and our current plight.
Have said this before but we now have 2 inexperienced heads of the FD... I don't like it. Trade/Draft decisions have been made on the assumption of where the list is/was and I reckon it's been overrated. That's a classic football club error. Our list is ok but not as good as has been suggested We will need someone with experience to put the build back on track. Over to you Mr Pert, who can you get in to sort it out.

Round 6 Non MFC games
Following on from the whack Robbie Gray in the guts move that had him off the ground earlier in the game.
