Steven May - drinking session
Look, Tom has a job to do... I'm not a fan of how the media go about things a lot of the time either but he was presented with a story and it has currency because of our form line and May's less than successful start at the club...part of a joining the dots exercise. I probably wouldn't have written the story but I suspect I wouldn't have a job in the media for very long. ...but the dog act was done by the person who took the photo and sent it on to the media. It wasn't their business and May wasn't hurting them in anyway. That's a pretty lousy thing to do I reckon but unfortunately there are a lot of lousy people in this world who can't mind there own business. They mustn't have much going on in their lives or their heads for that matter...

So it's a dog act to do your job???

Steven May - drinking session
It's only a story because of our poor start to the year. If we were sitting comfortably in the 8 it would have barely had a mention. The microscope is on the club with the media and supporters looking for reasons/excuses for the slide...

Steven May - drinking session
From what I see a lot of older people (around my age) have a problem hiding issues with the booze. Self medication is not age specific. You're right, it never works.

Brendan McCartney & Cooney/Bulldogs situation
Absolutely, if we had all yes men we would be in a world of trouble. So long as at they present a united front to the players...

The Writing Was/Is on the Wall
Great to scratch out a win on the weekend...beats losing. On that performance I agree with Clarkson that both teams are not much chop at the moment and probably going nowhere. ...but we did show a few good signs albeit against average opposition like the Swans game. One of the big individual questions for me is...what is it with Tommy Mc? He had that good period as a defender and looked like being one of the better KPD in the game then dropped right off to where he was close to heading back to Casey. Now he's doing the same as a forward...even the couple of grabs he took out on his own on Saturday didn't look sure into his hands and his previous ability at kicking the set shot goal is gone. Any ideas? it can't be injury surely. Even if his foot/feet give him trouble it doesn't explain his hands. Maybe better bring in Dr Phil.

CASEY DEMONS V FOOTSCRAY VFL - Round 5
I think it's only 2 of them 'what'...Weid and either Tommy or Preuss.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
So has Ron Barassi but I haven't seen Goody running to re-sign him....and give him a game. The end comes when it comes, last years Prelim was the final siren and should have put an end to a great career.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
We need him 'Mach' but I don't think we would get a top 10 pick for him...his currency will rise though if he keeps up his present form. At the moment he's our best kept secret, probably due to the rest of the team performing so poorly. Would have to be leading the B&F by a fair margin.

Agree 'dazzle'. The only negative thing I can say about Collingwood is it's May...

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
The going price would be a 2nd round pick... ..which is what they gave up to get a premiership wingman (Brad Hill). 1st round picks are only for A grade game changers and KPP's...

PREGAME: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
I heard someone say this today and it's not necessarily true. The way we set up very definitely crowds our forwards and makes it hard. I think we need to spread more rather than bunch up to make it easy for defenders. Jennings is supposed to be a football genius but I can't see his logic here.

PREGAME: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
I want Sparrow in, and it's not because I think he will turn the team performance around. Wagner has been tried many times and failed. Sparrow is a first year player in development. I would prefer us to play Sparrow as he may (may as we don't know yet) have a lot more upside. ...and given Nev is going to be out for a fair period of the season it gives us a chance to groom someone to play his position. Wagner isn't the answer, Sparrow may be...

PREGAME: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Agree that we don't have a lot of options at Casey but the one I would have brought in is Sparrow to play in defence. He has got some leg speed and does tackle... Particularly with Hawthorns smaller forward set up and the high chance of rain on Saturday it only makes sense to me. If we're looking to the future, Wagner is not the answer.

Gary Pert
Caroline has got good contacts and she writes a good story, likes to create some drama in the off field goings on at football clubs. It wouldn't suit her narrative if the people behind the scenes were just a bit disappointed... ...but as to the very high up people...if they are majorly cheesed off and if that has rubbed off on the players in any way shape or form then those very high up people need to take a very long hike... It was very high up people, including ex players that very nearly drove us to extinction.

It's not that logical... You can draw our current form line back to the Prelim when Jackson was still CEO. We had a game plan and personal that didn't stand up. That we didn't make changes after that performance is one of the many things that see us where we are now. Pert wasn't in a position to effect that performance and hasn't been around long enough to make his mark. I think rather than logical extrapolation you are clutching at straws.

Agree with most of your post 'It's' but the whole of the FD including the head should be reviewed. I would think a review by someone with experience from outside the club will be called for...

Jon Patton
Since you've avoided the question, let me ask again.... Where have they said they are after Paton? Where they say they believe Paton will make a successful comeback? ...or is it just a media story that you're basing your arguments on?

Gary Pert
The biggest issue I have with Pert is not with Pert himself, it's the unfortunate timing of the changeover. I think we needed to have a club review of the Prelim performance that being the new man in the job it wasn't appropriate for him to call.
