POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Bulldogs
Positives...May, Lever, Bowey (the kid can play), quality players to come back...not many others. Negatives...Baker isn't an AFL player (positive, at least we've proven it before the real stuff starts). Sparrow is not an AFL mid. Fringe player Tommy Mac back to his worst when we need him and he needs to stand up. Still have big doubts re Spargo...depth Chandler..depth Think JJ is depth only. Bedford, no. Vanders is done and was a few years back. Nev is cooked unfortunately. Jones is on the cusp of cooked...in reality I could probably call it...he's cooked. We lack good depth...our list management has left us in a difficult position. With Vanders, Nev and Jones plus long term injuries added to a bunch of kids who are fringe at best. We better hope the worst of our injuries are behind us because we don't have much outside a best 22. ...and before anyone asks how I can make these judgements on one practice game??? they're not. They are judgements made over the last year (some over a couple of years), last week and confirmed today.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Bulldogs
I still think we made a big mistake not going after Phillips...especially as the Pies virtually gave him away.

Training Ground?
Greenvale to Moorabbin is not too great either 'daisy'...it's a pretty fair hike in traffic.

Vale Michael Gudinski...

Vale Michael Gudinski...
Some great stories above...was talking to my brother about Michael last night. He's had much more to do with him than me but one thing that sticks with both of us is that he's been loyal to a lot of people over the years. ....I think he had a genuine interest in music and it's people '@Rob Mac......' unlike others who were in it purely for all they could get.

Mark Robinson's Top 50
Don't agree with you a lot 'Dr' but definitely with you here.

Kye Declase Invited to Train
Despite all the hype around the kid, it's more likely Rosman will be a good year or two off. Missing a year of footy will set a lot of kids back, particularly the development types like him. Natural footballers like Bowey won't have been effected as much.

Gus Backs AFL’s Concussion Crackdown
Please don't put the words "Gus" & "Concussion"...in the same heading. I think I suffer from selective reading.

Calls to Swap our Rd 01 Game to Marvel
The trouble with concessions or anything down the track is they get forgotten easily and never happen. No thanks, as we could see in 2020...you take what you have now. Next week is too far away.

GAMEDAY: Practice Match vs Richmond
If you watched his career to date and this game in particular. He gets lost in traffic, just not good with contact. That contest was typical not a one off... ...but you believe what you will.

GAMEDAY: Practice Match vs Richmond
I think he just showed why he won't make it... He's good out on his own but no idea in any kind of traffic.

AGM 2021
...and it's all gone downhill from there. Coinciding with the time Bartlett wanted to put his nose in.
-
AGM 2021
Why not get him back as President, CEO and board...flick the rest. Might not be democratic but what we have now isn't either...at least he would get things done. He's got a track record for action.

AGM 2021
...or Hawthorn to Dingley.

AGM 2021
How many new members have signed up in the City of Melbourne over that 10 years? The Casey membership is only a significant rebuke if they had planned for a big increase in membership and that was not forthcoming... What if despite the membership thing, Casey was the best place to establish new facilities? I was dead against any thought of moving to Casey but 'Old' & 'Macca' have finally started to turn my thinking around...that and the changing world we live in. We can't just keep pushing for something that's not working, the club is dying a slow death that way. ...as 'Better' says above it would be good to see the business case for the MCG precinct and any alternatives.

AGM 2021
I actually don't think it matters...or at least shouldn't be the key driving force. How many members have we attracted in the city of Melbourne, how many member do we have in the City of Melbourne? The population isn't static, I'm sure we had a good percentage of our members in the City of Melbourne in 1892... You can keep chasing your base but at some time you have to settle and create a base. Our playing base is the MCG but maybe we should also look at a boutique stadium at Casey like the cats and play some of our lesser drawing games out there...the Cats clean up financially and the facilities are pretty much all covered by the 3 governments, local, state and federal. If we don't start thinking ahead and out of the box we will more than likely end up in Tassie or defunct... It's what we can build that matters.

AGM 2021
I used to think this but there are plenty of advantages to Casey... Remember, nobody would want to go down and live at sleepy hollow. The world is not static 'Gonzo', things move on and we need to be with it and not just lock into an old ideal. Casey might just be the right place for a forward thinking club, not one that has been running in circles for years and getting nowhere.
