He was fine...bit stiff with holding the ball near the end but that's such a raffle no one including the umpires or AFL have a clue.
-
Pretty sure it was the goal umpire 'Earl'...either way it shouldn't have happened. Even when you review you won't understand some of the umpiring decisions...I had a look multiple times at the first Pickett unfair tackle and it was a bump straight in the guts. 15 metre kicks were so inconsistent that even the commentators were joking about it. You guess is as good as mine on any holding the ball decision, I reckon they toss a coin on that one. Hocking has stuffed the game...umpires have lost all confidence.
-
Both give us something we don't have. That first Pickett dangerous tackle free was a joke...the 2nd one maybe but...

The head is a bit big at the moment 'dazz' & there's no reason for it... Needs to get back to basics or take a break.

Goal Review System - Cost us dearly. Yeah, we made a lot of mistakes and so did they but we were out and away when Lever took that mark. Surely that review takes place while the game goes on and if it's not a mark then they bring it back...

Thanks 'Brownie', will check it out. Love Roy & HG...

The commentary is laughable...and not just Bruce. They're making a farce of the game. What's going on boy's? why can't GWS get the ball inside 50? It's not all about lowering the eyes. GWS are playing a depleted Richmond and are barely in front. They still can't seem to get the ball inside 50 often enough to be a real threat. What do the need to do? What are Richmond doing to stop them? Come on, give us a clue... We can only guess with the camera angles not letting us see what's really going on. I know, it's not going to happen but man the standard of special comments in our game is appalling. Add that to the ball by ball commentary and it's just pathetic.

Me too 'A F'... Agree 'dazzle'...selection looks right to me. Let's hope they prove it on the ground. Selections like this help build the club culture...

May is the one I would keep an eye on...has had some soft tissue problems over the last few years. Wouldn't want to risk him. It will be an interesting to watch how we handle him and Max to a lesser degree.
-
Not really a blow...Oscar has been doing a lot of the ruck work. Stef hasn't come back well from injury. With the predicted rain it looks like Tommy will miss, probably would have anyway. Not sure on how Jackson handles the wet.
-
Me too...I think we could run Viney with him. Initially I thought Harmes on a hard tag and maybe that's still an option but a soft tag with Viney is also a consideration.
-
Yep, but he's not the best player in the game at the moment... That statement by Crawf is the sort of thing Ross Lyon used to say to put an opponent off their game. Remember Dale Thomas? Let Trac put together a body of work before we go in to total meltdown... He's looking good though... So is Clayton, how lucky are we?
-
Petracca has been good but there's a lot of hype on one great game... Remember the GC game when he couldn't hit a target to save himself. I get it and was one of the few that recognised his improvement last year when others thought him almost a bust. ...but Clayton is not only an accumulator or an extractor, we forget quickly his sublime handball skills that set up players down the ground. It's his vision and reaction time that puts him a long way above those others mentioned on "On the Reactionary Couch" the other night. He's just a much better footballer than the other "extractors" and still developing his craft...when you watch the game closely you can see he's working on when to kick and when to handball at the moment. The cogs are ticking and it's not yet instinctive...once he sorts this out watch him dominate games in the very near future.

Seeing as we're staying in the same property in Qld as North are it would make more sense to play it there...

Gus is going nowhere...

I think our need is for that outside class as you say 'dazz'... Someone who could take the other wing to compliment Langdon. A ready made running half back with good disposal would also be handy.
-
Andrews will go with who ever plays deep, he won't just follow Tommy around. As for Tommy playing on a wing, he has the turning circle of the titanic....they would love him on the wing. I would be very surprised to see Tommy play. He will get his opportunity with the short turnarounds. I AVB is out injured then we're more likely to see either ANB or Jones come in for him.
-
Still want to play him (Oliver) as a forward 'bin'???
-
Would play him on Neale myself...then let Brayshaw/Langdon do a job on the wings.
-
I hope not...

Will the real Angus Brayshaw please stand up?

Sparrow won't make it as a mid, he's not a natural ball winner. He will as a defender if someone in the FD works it out. He has the attributes to be the heir to Nev...similarly Nev wasn't a natural ball winner when played up the ground but found his mojo as a deep defender. Sparrow is quicker than Nev, is strong on the ground and in the air. Would play him back. -

I thought he might be...and Smith did nothing. Tidy up the kicking, that's what takes him to the next level. He's quicker than you think 'A F'...has a strange gait but covers ground quickly. I think his defensive work is getting better, no doubt it was an area all our mids needed to fix but we strangled the Hawks yesterday...good signs. -

Would be nice to get the clangers out of his game, agreed. Half is a bit of an exaggeration though 'Nev', but when he does have a clanger it's usually a beauty... I get the frustration with him as on the flip side some of his kicking can be pinpoint (he is a beautiful kick of the ball off both feet). He must have the odd brain fade, will be better for getting that out of his game. If he does then he will be our version of Sidebottom... ...but he is doing his job and as for calls to bring Sparrow in for him as some have posted...give me a break. -

I'll go against the trend here but I reckon he's playing his role and been critical in our turnaround. Yes, he has the odd wayward kick and he's not getting mega stats but his role is different. He reads the ball well off Max's hands as witnessed in the first contest of the game. He spreads well and opens out the play whereas before we would get drawn in to the ball. He also does a nice little tagging job when needed. ...and with Harmes is a great 4 & 5 option to throw in when the others need a break or we need to throw something different at the game. Stop watching the stats everyone and start watching the game. Seems like Angus is the new Omac...
