POSTGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
My reflections; Gawn is more than a ruckman. Agile, great below his knees. An elite aerialist. Creative with vision and play in any situation. Trac is Trac, nuff said Oliver is Oliver, nuff said Pickett - the more roles he plays the more he excels. Vision, pace, creativity and the ability to bring others into the game, the better he is impactful. We have to resign him more than Jako last year, he finishes and creates finishes by bringing other into play. The perfect creator and finisher My comments on the lesser likes. BBB, with fast footy, he creates and is impactful Chandler was busy consistently and will get better McVee had very good moments and will get better. Scary given one game in Tomlinson, Petty and Lever were a great team. Happy for Thompson. Bring n May tho Langers and Hunter did not dominate but had influence. the new game style suits our flankers to contribute more. Spargo, Nibbler Chandler had more attacking plays Grundy got better as the game went on. He will get better with time. This Grawdny experiment is not about 2 x AA players being influential as they did with each club as AA , the combination they provide as a Duo provide high level play without AA players, but very influential bowey is just special we are real contenders with more options

AFL Greatest Gifts
Richmond picking Tambling and giving the Hawks Buddy, has to be the greatest gift. The Saints gifting us Trac and picking McCartin has to be up thereā¦. He was a clear No 1 pick, but the Saints wanted a Riewoldt replacement. Sincerely Thanks š

MFC, Trades and Free Agency
If itās not hate, itās certainly aggressive. Misdirected anger towards players like Melksham occurs too often. Anyway you look at it. Itās not ok or defensible.

MFC, Trades and Free Agency
I do remember Jake coping it from a few on here for his looks a while back. It was extremely personal. Game day threads can definitely get heated too. Especially if youāre a whipping boy/player.

MFC, Trades and Free Agency
Geelong are seen as masters of trade and free agency deals and they have performed extremely well for over a decade. I Thought I would have a closer look at our own performance in this area. Steven May - A master stroke play by the club. Defence was an area of weakness in 2018 and the club took some what of a risk with May who had proven his worth at GFC, but had a few question marks in regards to behaviour and attitude despite being a club captain. Definitely not high risk, but a risk considering we paid big dollars for him. The club took full advantage of the Hogan situation here. Big win! Jake Lever - the club was right into Lever in his draft year but went with Trac and Angus. Lever had done his knee in his draft year and fell to the Crows, but we continued to pursue him and drafted Lever after the 2017 season. Was somewhat a risk. Past injuries, not fitting a traditional key back role, but had great work ethic and was seen as a club leader from an early age - Big win Michael Hibberd - Essendon were cherry ripe for the taking after their cheating scandal and Hibberd was/is the perfect prototype the club were after. Strong and tough backman to played on small to medium/tall forwards. Never gives up. Big win Jake Melksham - high draft pick with talent who was inconsistent at the Bombers. Goodie knew him well and brought him across. Had some big games, and contributed well to this club. Came to us when no one would. I call this a win, despite the hate he gets on here. Adam Tomlinson - at GWS was never afforded a position to play regularly. With great endurance height and size, was seen as the prototype midfielder and the club needed a wingman. We got him and whilst never living up to his hype, has been adaptable and serviceable. Was great as a backman prior to doing a knee. Neutral with this trade. Cost us with money and length of contract, but at the time was a good move and has not hurt the club Ed Langdon - A winger who had a great year at Freeo and was next to Hill who took all the hype at the time. The club loved his endurance, work ethic and we got him for a steal. Disposal was seen as poor but with his work ethic, this is no longer an issues. Big win I put up there with May. BBB - For some reason was not afforded the respect by Norf and other clubs and the MFC got a KPF which was our weakness. Whilst not a big bulking forward to suit our game plan, BBB has adapted and has been all class. He was significant in getting us a flag. Significant win Luke Dunstan - good depth and cost nothing - neutral at this stage, but canāt be a loss due to his cost. Grundy - too early to call. Big potential trade win and is significantly better than Jackson at this stage. Iām Making this assessment by looking at past performance. IMO Brody was better than Jackson in his 4th year of AFL and Jackson will not get an AA or club BF. Lachie Hunter - too early to call. Big potential. Hunter was/is one of the best wingman at his best. If it fails, he cost nothing. So canāt be a loss. Schache - too early to call, could be a good move by the club despite where this ends up. Depth player and better than Weid. Could be a big win. Either way canāt be a loss. Overall itās an A plus to the club and football department with trades. Kudos to all

Caroline Wilson fancies us this season.
I think she is over estimating Freeo. Bottom 4 I hopeā¦. š

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
The fact is the club has done everything to sign Kozzy up within its list management strategy. You donāt let someone like Kozzy stay on the market this long. I would suggest they are re evaluating its list strategy to up the anti (if not already). Are they offering more midfield time as a sweetener just like Brayshaw? The club went hard on Oliver and Trac and they signed. The anxiety from many is warranted. There a is real chance he will go. Hopefully the percentages are in our favour.

PREGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
Or when delivery into the forward line allows being blocked. Being blocked requires slow forward entries. Itās well known in the AFL world our midfield forward entries are poor, we kick/bomb it toyhe a forward pocket too often as defensive forward play and our midfielders are not great disposers of the ball. The coaching panel said we were too safe going forward last year. Brown was a Lone Ranger at the back end of last year playing a role not suited to him. Free kicks were not paid due to playing to his weaknesses, oppositions working how to expose our disposal, game plan and forward line. It was not the umpires lack of paying feee kicks.

Jack Ginnivan admits drug use
Well said Kev! Many doctors, lawyers, health professionals etc misuse drugs. The big difference is, they can afford their drug use therefore itās the lower socioeconomic community who have a lens on them as they need to commit crimes to pay for their misuse. Regulate it for safety reason. Itās Harm Reduction policy and it works. Cannabis is not the only drug that has been trials . European countries have trialled opioid programs and research points this to being successful. It saves lives and reduces crime. Our courts are filled with very unwell people with multiple and complex needs. Our legal system is floundering under the pressure with this āWar on Drugsā, and drug treatment services canāt keep up with demand. A different approach is needed. For positive change to occur we need to change the narrative on drug use and point it towards Harm Reduction. To do this we need to break down the judgement, stereotyping and fears people have.

Jack Ginnivan admits drug use
At least Carey learnt from previous toilet behaviours and didnāt get caught snorting anti inflames at Crown. And, Ibuprofen is legal, so nothing to see here. š¤£

Yep, you take drugs. No doubt about itā¦ You just justify it and I get it. Your type of drug taking is the socially acceptable type.

Does Kade make the grade, or will it be Chandlermonium
If given a good run at it, Chandler has more upside therefore more potential impact than our current Half Forwards. All things equal, he should be at $2.Just not sure our selection committee and coaches will provide him the solid foundation and opportunity.
