  1. Well said Kev! Many doctors, lawyers, health professionals etc misuse drugs. The big difference is, they can afford their drug use therefore it’s the lower socioeconomic community who have a lens on them as they need to commit crimes to pay for their misuse. Regulate it for safety reason. It’s Harm Reduction policy and it works. Cannabis is not the only drug that has been trials . European countries have trialled opioid programs and research points this to being successful. It saves lives and reduces crime. Our courts are filled with very unwell people with multiple and complex needs. Our legal system is floundering under the pressure with this ‘War on Drugs’, and drug treatment services can’t keep up with demand. A different approach is needed. For positive change to occur we need to change the narrative on drug use and point it towards Harm Reduction. To do this we need to break down the judgement, stereotyping and fears people have.
  2. At least Carey learnt from previous toilet behaviours and didn’t get caught snorting anti inflames at Crown. And, Ibuprofen is legal, so nothing to see here. 🤣
  3. Yep, you take drugs. No doubt about it… You just justify it and I get it. Your type of drug taking is the socially acceptable type.
  4. Well, I hope for many reasons you guys clean up!!,
  5. What were the odds PF?
  6. If given a good run at it, Chandler has more upside therefore more potential impact than our current Half Forwards. All things equal, he should be at $2.Just not sure our selection committee and coaches will provide him the solid foundation and opportunity.
  7. Depending on who you talk to, Apparently not…!!! I'm also certain Ginnivan wasn’t trying to get a higher sporting performance, just a high…. From afar, Ginnivan ain’t smart and he stopped at a high. But PF, if you suffer from trauma and anxiety, I’m your man to assess and refer you to a government/health/multinational controlled psychotropic hallucinogenic program. Damn, if only Ginnivan spoke to me first. He may have had it all and had an explanation for his drug use. Maybe he was self administering micro dosing drugs himself….
  8. Don’t take drugs is a lesson we hear and learn as a child from family, friends, teachers, govt’s, employers, charities, church etc etc. All role models in our lives. Go to the Magistrate Court and see what a wet lettuce is. Or, is it just how we as a society work and reality? The AFL have a drug policy. This is how the AFL will go. Not from value driven supporters who equate their values according to their distaste of a player and/or opposition club
  9. I’m confused on what drugs are legal and what drugs are illicit. Govt’s and multinationals hand out the same drugs they punish others for, then dictate a moral value/compass on society. Our Govt is now handing out hallucinogens, opioids, cannabis, Ketamine etc etc. I don’t have a problem with drug use as long as it is not harmful to the person or others around them. I’m more offended Ginnivan plays for the Filth. As for being a role model, each and everyone of us is a role model to some degree. Responsible and harmless drug use is role modelling and I include prescription drugs, alcohol and all other drug use. Until we actually have a narrative and understanding to this situation, leave the kid alone. What he has done is part of mainstream society
  10. Thanks Lucifer for the info. On the extension and I am assuming May was not a flight risk, is the extension at a considerably lower amount?, and is the club trying to free up funds for a Kosi resigning. I’m assuming the club will need to pay up for Kosi.
  11. The article talks about an extension and a fresh new deal. It’s a little confusing but probs an extension. Even so, the club will be looking forward to give Kosi the best possible deal they can without robbing list management. Get important deals done early as they have previously with Trac and Oliver, and see what they can manufacture with others. The club will need to come forth with a great deal to keep Kosi.
  12. A renegotiated contract possibly means freeing up cap space for other signings (Kosi or others). It’s good policy to extend great players at the end of their contact, who demanded big contracts in their prime for less, to hand off those dollars to first 5 year players coming into their prime. Like it. Win/win list management
  13. Live in the moment Cranky.
  14. Benny Brown is all class. Well done Demon Army.
  15. Fritta is all class and poise!! Just had a look his goal assists stats in 2022 and he is up there with the league bests. Does not get the recognition he deserves. I know we all love him on here, but is he underrated within the old faithful too?? All this talk of forward line woes yet we have two of the best in Kosi and Fritta.
  16. In 2022 our forward line was decimated. TMac and BBB were less than half themselves. Weid was Weid, so no loss there and Max (who ain’t a forward) was injured and had less than usual input. Jackson is an athlete and will never be a KPF. Trac could not kick a consistent goal, ANB and Spargo are plodders who complement structure. Only Kickett and Fritta can hold their heads up. That’s 2 out of 6/8 players who contributed in a forward line. The forward line is our big improvement area. As a collective, and when it functions it’s a problem for opposition teams. JVR, Chandler and Schache add another element for improvement too.
  17. Agree, I think this applies to a lessor part with Jackson as a forward as well. TMac was a big loss for his body work and creation of play for BB and Jako. He does not have this protection at Freeo on any level, except maybe with Fyfe. To maximise his athleticism he needs space.
  18. PTSD is a very different mental health concern than anxiety, depression etc. therapeutic solutions actually encourage victims not to talk and re traumatise individuals. There are new medication trials and different therapies to assist with trauma, talking therapies have not traditionally been beneficial for ex servicemen. apples and oranges
  19. The pecking order is kinda mute. It’s about team balance. Role players compliment the top end talent. Form gorilla minding backs, to intercepting backs and small/medium types who attack and/or defend. Tagging mids to inside beasts/ball winners, outside runners etc. Outside runners is an improvement area for our midfield. The forwards are out of whack IMO. Physical forwards, to leading types , to small/medium goal kickers and defensive forwards. Although I don’t rate one on one defensive forward in general, But a one on one forward who can counteract an attacking back is important playing some teams. This is why I think Harmes is important tagging a midfielder like Lachie Neal, to a Daicos/HBF type. He also has the smarts to attack in both areas of the field and contribute whilst nullifying his opponent.
  20. Spargo has been a wing option when required, and Yep, as a scoring option he is poor too.
  21. The same Sparrow who beat JJ by a measly 2 points and had more games. Semantics for sake of……
  22. The reports from my doggy friends, Hunter is an endurance beast but his kicking can be loopy and his decision making is slow. But he has the runs on the board and should be an upgrade on the opposite wing than JJ.
  23. Spargo is one who will struggle to keep his spot. Yep, he kicks nice 30 meter kicks, Has ok AFL intelligence with ball in hand, but has weaknesses. He was exposed like many in the forward line this year and beaten defensively too easily. AFL intelligence also includes the ability to find the ball and kick goals.
  24. All forwards are there to kick, create and/or assist goals, if your in the 50 mtr area and you are at best advantage to goal, go for it. Fritta is a master of this with his sublime skills and a cool head.He is also there for setting up others, leading out of areas to suit others, tackle, chase etc. Under rated at this too The media pulled 2 or 3 shocking decisions by Fritta and made a story for click bait, and others fell for it. He is a gun who needs to learn, develop further and fall not into the media circus as he did afterwards trying to play too unselfish. The best medium forward in the game!!
  25. Another question. With oppositions using leg speed, outside run and shorter ball movement to combat our defence, has the club worked out a way to combat this through game style and off the season draft and trades?
