Incredibly proud of the boys. True Aussie grit, determination and heart all tournament.

6 goals from Schache from 6 Hunter goal assists. 💥

Speak to Doggy fans about that one Picket.

Dunstan isn’t a premium player, BF or filling a need. He was always back up to a top 4 midfield. Hunter will provide a need if he wants it enough.
-
Hunter is a gut running freak. Suits us defensively as much moving forward. His disposals are not that damaging. Just like Langdon before he came to us, disposal was the problem. Hopefully the coaches can replicate Langdon with Hunter and let him improve this area. I think Hunter compliments our game plan, Langdon and will give opposition headaches as they can’t tag both wings. Two genuine wingers… Bring it on.

Agee! This is the thing with the Grimaces. They have massive upside and downsides. Apart from Fyfe and Taberner, they were a healthy bunch. Mundy and Lobb are big loses. Lobb is middle of the road at best which is indicative…. Oppositions worked out the Grimaces toward the back end of the year and they fell off a little. But, the midfield is young and full of potential. They possibility fell off due to age and experience and will be better off next year. They lost a lot thru trades and got minimal return IMO. Jako is not a Fyfe, Oliver, Pendlebury, Hawkins or any where near the footballer who provides maximum output. The pressure is on him now. But, he may provide as he has the talent and the ability. At 21 yrs, I doubt it. lots of arguments for a top 6 finish, and/or a bottom 6 finish. Next year is side show I’ll watch with interest… I hope like hell they fall off and the weaknesses show up big time. I think they are a few years off the big dance and need to fill big holes. The Jako trade may be their big downfall as they need to recruit/trade and offer no trade or recruiting value. -
Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson

I have to say I have concerns about Jefferson as well. After some reflection, and reading other poster concerns, I believe this is mostly due to our poor forward 50 play this year. Jefferson isn’t the “bull at a gate” forward we believe we need going forward going from our forward entries from this past year type of play, but He will put on size and strength BUT, Fritta is a 50 goal kicking forward the past 2 years, who is not physical. Great in the air and a good ground ball player. He has forward/footy smarts. Similar to Jefferson who is taller. If Jefferson has the forwards around him, and JVR provides a very different type, he could provide the multi faceted forward line we need. if Jefferson had 6 more kgs to him and was 90 kegs (if 84kgs is correct as some have stated), we would all be excited. I’m more excited the more I think about it. I like we have recruited two bookends, plus JVR the last year. -

Both Trac and Oliver are barometers to our success. Does Trac step up when Oliver is down? This problem is Oliver is rarely down. Probs not a stat on this or a small sample when Oliver has missed games. I say it’s a algorithm with Gawn, Oliver, Trac, Viney, May etc. all moving parts who compliment and allow each other to shine. -
Yep, I have a man crush on Maxy. Along with many other men Champion bloke, captain, player and all round nice guy 😍

I can’t think of 1 win as a club with Neeld leading the way Dazzle!. He isn’t the sole problem and players have a role, but his time was really bad. leadership is more important to success. The soldiers are the icing on top of the cake
-
I was alluding to the final 2 years as an older ruckman of his 5 year contact Rog. At $700,000. But thanks 🙏
-
No one excelled under Neeld Dazzle. Nor did his coaching bite any club on the [censored] after us. Leaders are meant to lift and harness talent. Not defeat it. It maybe new age, but it works…

2022 was definitely a ride off for Grundy due to injury. His form prior was very good to excellent. I don’t get the panic in this trade. At worst we are paying $700,000 (at most, I hope) in the final 2 years of his contract at the Dees, yet he has made career of being a great trainer dedicated to his craft displaying on field worth on match day. This is what has made him top class. I believe/hope this will make him durable. Injuries can hit a 20 year old, or a 28 year old in Grundy case, and many have recovered. I agree with your ‘jury is out’ comment, but only in relation to the Gawn/Grundy combo. Grundy is already a proven commodity and a surer bet than pick 27 at this years draft. Gawn and Grundy are too good to work this to their advantage, so is the coaching crew. Our midfield must be excited with this trade. Imagine having Grundy being able to halve (at best) a ruck contest in the backline (thinking Hawkins here) and being that big bodied extra midfielder, for our smaller blokes, throwing the ball on the boot, or turning quickly to kick to Gawn down the line taking marks or contesting the ball down field. Jackson ain’t that player and Brown doesn’t play that role well enough. Or reverse the same scenario. Our weakness was the ball on the ground in the backline. I hate the kick long to the forward pocket dtaregy, but either Gawn or Grundy in this scenario is way better than Brown or Jackson, they are Not big enough to halve the contest. Oppositions worked this out and McDonald was a big loss without his body work in this strategy. I hope the club change the ruck position to a 40/60 scenario. Two great players rotating as an extra back/forward. One resting back or forward nullifying fatigue and injury as we saw with Gawn and hopefully Grundy. Gawn was not the player late this year playing contested type footy. Players like Hickey and Martin monster Gawn traditionally and beat him up and nullify him. Grundy provides a different type ruck style. Forget the hit out stat, useless. It more about influence around the ground in and contest. Both players are great in this area. Jackson is an enigma. Shows a lot without consistency. He is young and big therefore provided a lot to the club and a lot of hope to supporters. I hope he stays the enigma throughout his career now. Grundy is already proven and a great pick up. His cost is worthy.

The jury has voted Grundy as a top ruckman. Nothing to prove here! He will have more impact than most

Not so sure Spargo makes great decisions. Making decisions to get the ball ain’t his forte…. Ball In hand he is above average in his decision making. -

Can’t be any worse than the Weed (saying with respect for a man who did his best) The Shack was competing against much better forwards at the Dogs, therefore I’m hopeful but not expecting the Shack to be our main power house forward. -
Luke who? Dogga the man when he has finished his career and we look back at his efforts in 2021 and that 3rd 1/4 in Sept. akuna Matata

The games I saw at Casey I was impressed. I have to admit my expectations were low, but he is a solid performer with a little extra. Just like his dad, you have to admire a kid who has had to work hard to get where he has risen…. Makes me think with work effort and talent he could be a very solid performer at AFL when ready -
I see big upside with this trade. Fills a hole on many levels. I hope Lachie gets back to some of his good footy he produced at the Bulldogs structurally he provides a lot to our midfield
-
He was the lone tall forward for half a season and playing injured in a team game. Tried manfully despite all the negatives placed on him, with his own weaknesses and coaching failings. it’s hard to be a forward with little KPF support in a defensive game plan and poor midfield pressure along with poor skills coming at you. his contract ain’t that meaty either. Above average
-
Stack’s example at the Tiges is not a great example for their program either. I believe our program is very good too! Run by good ppl and our good club. Cultural and social programs are not a guarantee for 100% success.

Flying Jetstar from the MGG to the airport onto Perth, Uber’ing to Cottesloe is only 13 hours (if Dogga goes thru security and Jetstar don’t cancel the fight) -
Well said Oscar. Casey premiership player. Kudos!

Not sure about his style play from these highlights. kicks front and centre of the goals in the forward line. When kicking to the forward pocket it’s to a leading forward. Who marks and kick for goal kicks goals from the boundary line. Can kick 40 meters unlike Spano (not a HFF option) looks drunk on the field. I think I saw him look at the big screen at a group 1 result at Flemington, and looked distracted. I’m thinking the delusions (visual and auditory) were taking control with all of the above WASTED trade
